QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Agree

I believe human life has inherent value and deserves dignity and respect. At the same time, these issues are complex and personal, and policy approaches must balance compassion, individual rights, and access to appropriate medical care.

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

The school’s role should be to support student well-being, safety, and continued access to education without judgment. Schools should provide accurate information, counseling, and connections to appropriate community resources while respecting student privacy and family involvement.

ECONOMY

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Disagree

Addressing student loan debt is about expanding opportunity and improving economic mobility, not shifting blame. Solutions should be balanced and paired with long-term reforms that improve affordability and accountability in higher education.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

Government has a fundamental responsibility to ensure equitable funding for public education from Pre-K through higher education, as it is the foundation of opportunity and workforce development. Investment should include strong support for educators, safe and modern facilities, and the services students need to succeed.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state in public schools means maintaining neutrality regarding religion, ensuring that no student is pressured to adopt or reject any belief. Schools should provide an inclusive environment where all students can learn freely without religious influence or discrimination.

IMMIGRATION

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

Disagree

Immigration enforcement should prioritize humane, targeted, and lawful approaches that protect communities while respecting civil rights and due process. Policies should strengthen community trust rather than undermine it.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Agree

Schools should ensure students have access to factual, age-appropriate health information and resources that support their well-being. Partnerships with qualified providers can help students make informed decisions while respecting the role of families and maintaining appropriate boundaries for schools.

Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

Clear and fair consequences are essential for maintaining a safe, respectful learning environment where all students can focus on learning. Disciplinary approaches should also be restorative and equitable, helping students understand behavior while supporting their growth.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Agree

Students should learn America’s founding documents to understand the principles, history, and responsibilities of citizenship. Civic education should encourage critical thinking and informed engagement so students can thoughtfully participate in democracy.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Disagree

The U.S. Department of Education plays an important role in supporting equity, funding, and national standards that help ensure opportunity across states. While local control is important, eliminating the department could reduce support for underserved students and increase disparities.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Including abstinence, consent, contraceptive methods, human reproductive system/anatomy, physical and emotional health outcomes, stages of pregnancy and fetal development, sexual orientation, gender identity, and medically accurate information regarding pregnancy options where appropriate. I support age-appropriate, medically accurate sex education that prioritizes student safety and informed decision-making while respecting parents as partners in education.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Mathematics Language Arts Science Civics American History Vocational Learning Personal Finances Information Technology Physical Fitness Social Emotional Learning Art and Music Foreign Language

Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.

Agree

I believe public schools should prioritize strong academic achievement while also helping students develop character, responsibility, and an understanding of how to participate in their communities. Preparing students to be informed, respectful, and engaged citizens is an important part of education.

School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

Agree

I believe families deserve quality options, and healthy competition can encourage innovation and improvement. At the same time, my focus is on strengthening our public schools, ensuring they are well-resourced, high-performing, and the best choice for our students and families.

VALUES

Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Disagree

I believe schools have a responsibility to ensure fairness, safety, and dignity for all students. These are complex issues that should be addressed thoughtfully, with clear policies that respect every student while maintaining safe and appropriate environments.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in spirituality and strong personal values rooted in integrity, respect, compassion, and service. These principles guide how I treat others and my commitment to serving the community with honesty and accountability.

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

I strongly believe parents are the primary stakeholders in their child’s education and should have the right and responsibility to be informed and involved in decisions related to their child’s health and education. Schools work best when they partner with families in a transparent and respectful way.

I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Strongly Agree

I strongly believe in treating every student and individual with dignity and fairness. All children deserve to be judged by their character, effort, and actions, and given equal opportunities to succeed regardless of background.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

I believe marriage is a deeply personal commitment that should be respected equally under the law for all consenting adults. I support equal rights for same-sex couples and believe government recognition should reflect fairness and inclusion for all families.

Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.

Disagree

I believe schools should ensure students have access to appropriate mental health support and services in partnership with families and qualified professionals. These are complex issues that should be handled through proper clinical and educational support systems.

School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.

Agree

I support school libraries and trust licensed, certified educators and librarians to select age-appropriate materials that support literacy and educational development. Professional standards and established review processes should guide these decisions in schools.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

I believe all eligible voters should have fair and equal access to participate in elections. Election policies should ensure both accessibility and integrity, and those decisions are best addressed at the appropriate levels of government.

Nonpartisan

Moderate

I consider myself focused on practical, student-centered solutions rather than partisan ideology. My priority is improving academic outcomes, supporting families, and ensuring schools are responsive to community needs.

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Disagree

I support comprehensive school safety strategies that include trained law enforcement professionals, prevention programs, secure campuses, and mental health resources. Safety decisions should be guided by experts and district safety planning.
