OTHER INFORMATION
During an interview with “The Contrarian,” Rankin identified her judicial philosophy as “liberal” stating:
“It would be more of a liberal judicial philosophy. I think I would definitely follow the rule of law and the Constitution. Georgia’s Constitution’s really broad, as you may know, so it’s important that we have justices who will actually read the Constitution for the full breadth of protections that it provides the citizens of our state. I also believe it’s important that You understand your justices that are on the court, and the life experiences that they bring with them to the court, because it also helps shape perspectives, and that’s why we have a court that listens, and it’s more than one person, right? Because they’re able to bring in those life experiences along with the rule of law that they’reinterpreting.”
Former president of Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys.
At a campaign announcement, Rankin highlighted her approach to the judiciary, stating:
“A justice must approach every case with independence, careful judgment, and respect for the Constitution and the law — without political pressure or personal agenda.”
On her campaign Facebook page, Rankin posted:
“In 2019, I invited Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg to speak to Georgia’s Young Lawyers Division. She wrote back and closed the letter with a phrase I’ve never forgotten: 'Every good wish.' Such a simple line from a giant in our legal history — a trailblazer whose brilliance opened doors for generations of women. Since then, I’ve used the same closing in my own letters — a quiet reminder of her impact and influence. On her birthday, and during Women’s History Month, I’m grateful for her legacy. Every good wish, Justice Ginsburg.”
At a press conference on February 24, 2026, Miracle Rankin, a trial lawyer and former president of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, discussed her campaign for the Georgia Supreme Court, stating, “I’m not just going to sit down and do nothing because someone has to stand up for Georgia’s civil liberties that are being stripped away.” She emphasized the need for proactive leadership on the court, adding, “We do understand that we’re doing something that people don’t frequently do, but we’re living in a time where we have to have leaders who are willing to step up and do things that are uncommon to get uncommon results for our state.”
