QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

None! Abortion is baby murder. "It's never right to do wrong to do right." In exceedingly rare circumstances, the choice may be between the mother and the baby. If this choice is made in the attempt to save both, in good faith, it is clearly not murder, and should not be treated as such.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Agree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

The minimum wage violates the principle that an employer and employee can come into agreement on a wage. Increasing the minimum wage to a "living wage" is destructive to small businesses, and eliminates entry-level jobs, where experience is gained.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

In addition to this statement, it's important to note that private property is one of the three inalienable rights acknowledged in the Declaration of Independence--a right that comes from the Laws of Nature, given to us by God, a right that all states (by subscribing to the Declaration of Independence) agreed government has a duty to protect and has no right to infringe upon. (For those who have not studied this, "Pursuit of Happiness" specifically referred to private property ownership.)

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1. LIMIT federal government to the enumerated powers listed in the Constitution. Limit state governments to powers granted by the citizens in state constitutions. 2. Require Fed congress to balance the budget. This is a commonsense requirement, implied by the original meaning of "General Welfare," which was in context of paying down war debt. This would apply by extension to states, as well. 3. Hold government officials personally accountable for negligence, fraud, waste, etc.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

"Separation of church and state" appears nowhere in the Constitution. It is a phrase from a letter from Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist church, assuring them that they had no reason to fear the government violating their rights of conscience and religion, thanks to the 1st Amendment. What the 1st Amendment says is that the government cannot establish a state religion (denomination, according to Madison), nor prohibit a person from exercising religion. The phrase applied to the latter.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Conscience is the most sacred of properties, according to Madison. John Jay said that "Security under out constitution is given to the rights of conscience and private judgment." William Livingston equated forcing a person against their moral or religious beliefs (conscience) to spiritual tyranny. Our founders were clear that conscience is a matter between an individual and God, and the state has no business interfering.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Ideally, free enterprise would dictate option D! The gov't was not designed to provide healthcare (it is nowhere in Article I Section 8 enumerated powers, nor in the additional powers granted to government under amendments). Care for sick and elderly falls in the jurisdiction of family and church. I would love to at least see us achieve C, as long as there are good limitations that are equally and consistently applied to prevent fraud and waste--a good incremental step in the right direction.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

Among other violations (including privacy, Amendment 4), this is a step on the slippery slope to the equivalent of Canada's MAID--a government program now responsible for approximately 5% of all deaths in Canada. Our private information belongs to us individuals.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes! Israel is our best ally in the middle east. While we may not (and are not required to) agree with all policies and social norms of Israel, I contend we need to be careful not to oppose God's plan for Israel and the land He ordained for that nation.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

I oppose the term "undocumented persons," for that matter! If a person is here illegally, they need to leave and come back the right way. To allow otherwise is to violate a nation's sovereignty over its borders. In fact, if we can't define our borders and who we allow to come into our nation, then we really don't have a nation, and subject our country to invasion and destruction on at least some level.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Education is not an enumerated power given to the federal government by the Constitution. It is a usurpation by congress of responsibilities, rights and power reserved to the states and the people.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that Jesus Christ came to destroy the works of the evil one, and to restore relationship between us and God by paying the just penalty for our failure to meet the requirements of a perfect God--both by choice and by inheritance. Jesus is my Savior and my Lord. I owe him everything, and gratefully follow him--a disciple in training. The reason I (and the rest of the church) am here, still, is to "tend God's garden" of earth--to be a manager of the earth, to steward its resources. I'm also to "disciple" others, teaching them to obey (as I am also learning) all of Jesus commandments, promoting the good results we get by following the principles found in scripture--which, by the way, are the principles America was founded on!

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Every people group has been enslaved or abused, and every people group has abused or enslaved another throughout history. We'd all be paying endless reparations to each other. It's grossly unjust to assert that a person owes another for something that someone else did to them--we don't prosecute anyone (even direct family members) for the crimes of another. It's also important to note that science confirms scripture's assertion that there is only ONE race--the human race!

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

This has been proven to be a hoax, a power grab, unsupported by actual science. It has been rejected, now, by many of the former proponents, even.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

For now, oil/petroleum! I think there is good potential in new developments in nuclear energy technology. Other forms of energy should be researched, but must be driven by free market, and must NOT be artificially sustained by taxpayer money.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

A. Justice--provide relief to the party that is injured. B. Restitution! When at all possible, the criminal (the one that violated another's rights) should be required to compensate for that violation. C. Mitigation--at least part of the job of government is to punish evil (crime) as a deterrence.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Agree

The primary responsibility for protection of a child falls on the parents. However, in the sense of enforcing law, the government has jurisdiction to protect children and prosecute those that willfully abuse and endanger children.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

Sharia, and any other law that violates inalienable rights, is in conflict with the Constitution, which is the highest law of the land.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

NONE on citizens! Our rights to self-defense come from God, via the Laws of Nature. The intent of the 2nd Amendment is crystal clear in the writings of the founders. James Kent, for example, wrote, "The right of self-defense is founded in the law of nature and is not--and cannot be--superseded by the law of society." The 2nd Amendment notes the need for firearms for self-defense, and defense of the community. This was also intended to preclude ultimate tyranny by a rogue government.
