QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
I believe human life has inherent dignity and value. At the same time, as a school board member my role is not to set medical law, but to ensure that every student is supported, respected, and able to continue their education regardless of the challenges they face.
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Schools should respond with compassion and practical support so the student can continue her education. District staff should connect students with counseling, community resources, and family support while maintaining a safe and respectful environment that protects the well-being and future of both the student and her child.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of church and state means that government should not establish or promote a specific religion, but it also must not restrict the free expression of faith. Public schools should remain neutral institutions while protecting the rights of students and families to live out their beliefs. At the same time, schools can teach character, responsibility, and respect—values that are widely shared across faith traditions and strengthen our community.
ECONOMY
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Strong public education is essential to thriving communities and a strong economy. Public schools should be responsibly funded so districts can provide excellent academic programs, career and technical education, and extracurricular opportunities. At the same time, taxpayers deserve transparency and disciplined stewardship to ensure resources are used effectively for students.
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.
Agree
I believe enforcing federal immigration law contributes to public safety and national sovereignty. At the same time, immigration policy is a federal responsibility. As a school board member, my focus would be on ensuring that every student in our district is treated with dignity and has access to a safe learning environment, regardless of background.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Disagree
I believe sensitive medical and counseling matters should primarily involve parents and licensed healthcare providers outside the school setting. Schools should focus on academics and age-appropriate health education while respecting the role of families in major medical and personal decisions.
Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
A safe and orderly classroom is essential for learning. Clear expectations, consistent consequences, and restorative approaches when appropriate help protect instructional time and ensure that all students can thrive.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Agree
“Students should have a strong understanding of our founding documents, constitutional system, and civic responsibilities. A well-rounded civic education encourages informed, engaged citizens who appreciate both the strengths of our nation and the importance of continual improvement
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
I believe education decisions are best made as close to students and families as possible. Greater state and local control allows communities to tailor policies to their needs. Regardless of federal structure, my priority as a board member would be strong local governance and accountability
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
If sex education is offered, it should be age-appropriate, medically accurate, and transparent to parents. Instruction should include human anatomy, reproductive health, consent, abstinence as the safest choice, and factual information about contraception and pregnancy. Parents should have full access to curriculum materials and the ability to opt their child in or out consistent with state law.
It is discriminatory for a school district to cause academically eligible students to forfeit participation in U.I.L. competition when the student opts for instruction outside of the public school system.
Agree
Students who meet academic and eligibility standards should have opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities. Policies should be applied consistently and fairly, while ensuring that public schools are not financially or competitively disadvantaged.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
1 - Language Arts 2 - Mathematics 3 - Science 4 - Art & Music 5 - Civics 6 - American History 7 - Personal Finances 8 -Vocational Learning 9 - Information Technology 10 - Physical Fitness 11 - Foreign Language
Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.
Agree
Public schools exist first and foremost to help students achieve academic excellence. In addition, schools play an important role in developing character traits such as responsibility, integrity, and respect—qualities that support civic engagement and self-government. Rigorous co- and extracurricular activities further reinforce leadership, collaboration, and discipline in meaningful, real-world settings.
School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.
Agree
believe families benefit when they have educational options, and healthy accountability can encourage continuous improvement. At the same time, my priority is ensuring that our local public schools are well-supported, high-performing, and responsive to the needs of students and parents.
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Agree
Student safety must always be the top priority. In some districts, trained and licensed personnel may be part of a broader school safety strategy, provided there are strict training requirements, clear policies, and coordination with law enforcement. Decisions like this should be made carefully at the local level with input from safety professionals. Where resources allow for trained security personnel, that approach may reduce the need for faculty to serve in that role.

VALUES
Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Disagree
I believe policies regarding athletics and private spaces should balance fairness, safety, and privacy for all students. In competitive sports, maintaining clear categories helps preserve equal opportunity. At the same time, schools should treat every student with dignity and respect.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a life-long Christian. My faith shapes my commitment to integrity, service, and personal responsibility. I believe in treating others with respect, leading with humility, and serving the community with honesty and accountability.
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
Parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. Schools should partner with families, maintain transparency, and respect parents’ role in guiding their children’s education and well-being
I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Strongly Agree
Dr. King’s vision that people should be judged by the content of their character remains a powerful principle. Equal treatment under the law and respect for every individual are foundational values in a free society.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Agree
Marriage in religious terms has a specific definition, which is how I personally interpret it. However, marriage as a legal matter has been defined through law and the courts. This issue does not fall within the responsibilities of a local school board and is therefore best addressed through the legal system.
Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.
Agree
Parental involvement in all decisions regarding a student's mental health is vital.
School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.
Agree
Local decision making is critical in this arena. Parental review boards should certainly hold sway, but content experts and school curriculum can also come into play. A rigorous opt-in / opt-out policy should be maintained for any material that could violate limits established by particular parents.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
