QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I'm pro-life, but I believe an elective abortion should be allowed in the cases of rape, incest, or when the life of the mother is at risk. I also believe that parents should be given the option to terminate a pregnancy if the fetus is not expected to survive or would have globally pervasive disabilities.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Disagree
Artificially created embryos degrade over time and become unviable. Unless we plan on storing all unviable embryos forever, they will need to be destroyed at some point if not used for the original couple or adopted through a "snowflake adoption."
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Disagree
No, because hospitals will need them for emergency situations like rape or incest and unless each state produces their own, they will need to be transported across state lines.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of church and state, as prescribed by our forefathers, was meant to keep the United States from having a national, set religion. It means that people of all creeds are welcome in all levels of society and government. It does not, however, mean that we cannot be a moral people who look to a higher power for inspiration and support.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. Genesis 12:3 (ESV) "I will bless those who bless you (Israel), and him who dishonors you I will curse" Geopolitically, Israel stands as a strategic foothold in a volatile area. We need our allies in the region to maintain peace.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
B
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I believe that all people should be granted a living wage. Lower min wages, however, allow for more business which creates more jobs and increases the likelihood of goods and services costing less.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1. Welfare fraud 2. Governmental bloat 3. Over budget or poorly managed infrastructure 4. Political favors/passion projects vs statewide priorities 5. Inefficient or duplicate government processes
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
Federal laws should be obeyed throughout the US. Cities and states should not get to pick and choose which laws they will obey.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
States and communities are better gatekeepers for education as they know the population best and what is needed for every child. Federal dollars should be granted to each state to maintain their public schools and activities to provide what is needed in every area - this includes the choice of curriculum.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Neutral
Governments with a proven history of sabotage, espionage, and IP theft should be barred from funding American education. In all other instances, funding should be publicly disclosed.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The goal of the criminal justice system should be to protect the citizens. Rehabilitation should be the goal whenever possible and when not possible, the citizens should remain protected from that person or persons.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Disagree
I believe parents have primary responsibility and obligation to protect their children - whether online or in real life. Government should support parents in this endeavor by passing laws with stringent penalties and consequences for sexual exploitation online and in real life.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The regulations we have now are good. We may want to look at increasing restrictions on air soft rifles owned by felons. However, we do not have a gun crisis in this country. We have a mental health crisis. Sadly, until we address the mental health of our population, gun violence will continue.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Agree
I strongly agree that physically transitioning a child does constitute child abuse. If they can't choose to get a tattoo, they ought not be allowed to take hormones or have surgeries. If parents and the child consistently wish to socially transition the child and the school agrees, it should be allowed. The child should not be allowed to play in opposite sex sports or use opposite sex restrooms/lockers.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Yes, but civil unions should be allowed at the discretion of the government and its citizens on a state by state basis.
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. It is only by and through Him that man can return to live with God again. Families are the central unit of society. Strong families = strong communities. Children are a blessing from God and should be kept safe. The government exists to support families, protect citizens, and protect US interests at home and abroad.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
Photo ID is fairly easy to obtain through the state. Get out the Vote campaigns can include taking folks to acquire state IDs.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Disagree
Though man has certainly contributed to climate change, the Earth naturally goes through periods of heating and cooling. We should do what we can to limit pollution and greenhouse gases and reduce our carbon footprint to aid our beautiful world.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
To meet our immediate energy needs, we should continue to rely on coal, oil, and gas. However, it will benefit us to look forward to renewable energy sources, like nuclear energy, which can afford us with clean, safe energy for generations to come.
