QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I do not support abortion. Each preborn child is made in the image of God, and deserves the same rights, beginning with the right to life, as everyone else. Some children are conceived under horrific circumstances. But killing the child, who had nothing to do with the circumstances of his conception, does nothing to erase the injury done to the mother. It only compounds it.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

The idea that some lives are not worth living is a slippery slope that we step onto at our peril.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Neutral

I do not know if the production of a zygote in a test tube creates a human soul. Conception, classically understood, occurs in the environment of the mother's body. I understand that some people may hold strong opinions on this subject, but I am terribly aware of the limitations of my own knowledge.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

The true minimum wage is zero. When the "official" minimum wage exceeds the value of the job, the worker is fired or not hired. That is how fast food order-takers got replaced by kiosks when the "minimum" wage hit $15/hr. Kiosks were suddenly cheaper

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

When the law secures individuals' ownership of their own property and regards the fruit of their labor as their property, they engage in risk-taking and innovation. This creates incentives for diligence, creativity, and efficiency. History shows systems with protected property rights achieve greater prosperity than centrally controlled ones. Secure ownership fosters investment and stewardship; free markets allocate resources well. Without these, incentives fade and productivity declines.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

Get govt out of healthcare. P.J. O'Rourke famously said, "If you think healthcare is expensive now, wait till it's free." Same with education. Your WV children's "free" education costs you >$2B/yr. Oh, but it's FREE! Right? And let's not forget how high the quality is. That's what "free" gets you. I would also oppose govt subsidies of favored corporations. A generally favorable tax environment that attracts business without needing legislative relief for the favored few would benefit WV more.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means that the state cannot tell the church what to do, say, or not say. It does not mean that members of the church cannot participate in the democratic process, participate in government, or propose legislation consistent with eternal verities.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Selling someone a cake, or a bouquet, does not involve a message. The examples in the previous sentence are products. The line is crossed when someone wants a message or wants the service provider to support an idea or event that violates his faith. When we move into services that involve creative art, we should not compel anyone to use their creativity to support or celebrate messages, ideas, or events they oppose.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

I am almost Medicare eligible, and I hate that I will be forced into it. I support D. As O'Rourke said, "You think healthcare is expensive now? Wait till it's free." Social Security is going broke, and Medicare won't be far behind it. There is no free lunch; the question is: who pays? Living at other's expense never works for long. Don't be angry with the guy who's telling you the truth. These programs will major undergo reform or go down the drain. The sooner we sober up, the better it will be.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

It's a short step from this statement to "Some lives are just too expensive to support. They consume too many resources." One can envision a dystopian scenario in which these people can be made useful in other ways... perhaps Soylent Green style. We must note that the dystopian scenarios of fiction pretty much always come from the same political direction. If you know your literature, you know.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The CCP takes the long view. They know their history far better than our younger generation knows ours. They have not forgotten the humiliation of the Opium Wars. Otto von Bismarck, wary of the French after the Franco-Prussian War, said, "A generation that takes a beating is followed by a generation that gives one." The CCP of today is determined to be the generation that gives a beating. It doesn't matter that it was Britain that humiliated China; the US is the successor to Western power.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. The only representative democracy in the Middle East is not, contrary to Progressive/Leftist propaganda, the source of all of the problems in the Middle East. If the Jews, such a small minority among the world's population, truly do run things as the fevered imaginations of the Left insist, well, then they truly are a Master Race! I attribute much more earthly abilities to a nation populated by intelligent people trying to survive in hostile surroundings. They are our most valuable ally.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

The Left's importation of foreign nationals whose cultures are incompatible with our is the centerpiece of their plan to destroy the United States. Its central pillar is the willful flouting of US law. If a foreign national and I have a difference of opinion, it's just a difference of opinion. Import tens and hundreds of thousands of such people, whose beliefs are incompatible with the native population, and now we have a recipe for national fracture. A house divided cannot stand.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Top-down control has been a disaster. The Dept of Education has used the carrot of tax dollars first seized from the taxpayers and then dangled back to the states to get them to do its bidding. The result to US school children has been disastrous. The most successful children, as a group, are those whose parents opted out of the system altogether. The most recent--and highly successful--effort to dumb school children down is Common Core. When will enough parents wake up and say no more?

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

Do you really want your child's mind shaped by a government who hates American influence in the world? Well, guess what? That is exactly what is happening. China (Confucious Institutes) softly and subtly promotes pro-China perspectives. Saudi Arabia and Qatar promote specific Islamic perspectives using funding streams to influence curricula, programming, faculty and administrator hiring, speaker selection, research agendas. Western universities will bend over backwards for the money.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Biology is reality.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Strongly Disagree

Gambling is an addiction functionally like every other addiction. Some people may be able to manage the drug, like many are able to manage alcohol or tobacco. But the economic destruction of gambling is just as severe as that of alcoholism or other drugs of addiction. The tax benefits to the state are often outweighed by the social services costs to the state.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Three Solas Christian: Sola Gratia--by grace alone. Sola Fidelis--through faith alone. Sola Scriptura--according to the Word of God, alone. I take a high view of Scripture, that it is history; that it is inspired; that it is inerrant, in that it does not err, and that it is infallible, in that it cannot err. I find the fingerprints of God throughout the universe in His elegant design of the universe down to His elegant design of the home we call Earth and the contrivances with which He filled the biological world. A fuller description of my understanding of Divine design in the universe will be found in my book From Glory To Ruin, released maybe end of 2026 from Amazon.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

This is one of the Democrats' central pillars to destroy the American republic: dilute the vote of native Americans with illegal aliens who take advantage of deliberately engineered holes in election law. These illegal aliens, culturally unassimilable, will nullify the votes of citizens to the detriment of those citizens. The illegals' efforts to subvert US elections will be supported by 5th columnist natives who see the illegals as useful in attaining short term political power.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

No person living is a victim of race-based chattel slavery. No person living is a perpetrator of race-based chattel slavery. The idea that the descendants of slaves should be paid by the descendants of slave owners is absurd. What if someone's ancestry had slaves AND slave owners? Does someone in the aggrieved racial group, who arrived after slavery ended, still get the $$? Does someone in the perpetrator racial group, who arrived after slavery ended, still have to pay? Make it make sense.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

Gender dysphoria is a mental disorder. Girls and women should not be forced to accommodate boys' and men's delusions.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

Climate change has been happening for billions of years and is getting debunked as an anthropogenic effect by the week and month.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear, followed by fossil fuels.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No, never.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No, never.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The goal is the just retribution against the offender, restitution to the victim when possible, and separation of the violent from society on which they prey.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Disagree

I think this duty is rightfully the parents'. I think the govt should suppress sexually explicit sites, because they are detrimental to children and adults alike.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

The problem is not Muslims, per se. An individual Muslim will be one of the most courteous, hospitable people you will ever meet. The problem is Islam. The 15-20% of adherents who read their scripture carefully, and believe it, will understand that they are commanded: make war against the unbeliever until he submits to the call of Islam, pays the jizya and accepts second class status, or is killed. This is not Islamophobia; a phobia is an unreasoning fear. Mine is an informed and reasoned fear.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Huh? None. After convicted non-violent felons have served their sentence, they should have 2A rights restored. The 2A is in place to protect the ability of a free people to remain free. All around the world, tyrants and dictators have taken great care to first restrict the right to bear arms before they seized power. Registries come first, then confiscation. The examples are legion. Learn from history, or be doomed to repeat it.
