Strongly Agree
I believe human life begins at conception and should be protected. Therefore, I do not support elective abortion. I believe Georgia should continue working to protect unborn children while supporting mothers and families facing difficult circumstances.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

What is your position on the minimum wage?
Support higher but be cautious about a one-size-fits-all government mandate. South Georgia small businesses, farms, and family-owned employers operate very differently from large corporations and businesses in Atlanta.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

I believe people should have the freedom to own property, start and operate businesses, make investments, and earn a living with reasonable government interference, while recognizing that government still has a role in enforcing laws and protecting consumers and property rights.

Require greater accountability and transparency in state spending. Regularly review agency budgets and programs to make sure taxpayer dollars are producing measurable results. Eliminate duplication and unnecessary bureaucracy. Identify state programs, administrative positions, and services that overlap and consolidate them where it makes sense. Strengthen oversight of contracts and major purchases.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
To me, separation of church and state means that government should not establish or favor a particular religion, but it should never be used to remove faith from public life. The First Amendment protects both the free exercise of religion and the freedom of individuals to live and express their faith. I believe people should be able to pray, worship, and practice their faith without government interference, while respecting the constitutional rights of those who believe differently.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Government should respect and protect sincerely held religious beliefs and rights of conscience, consistent with the Constitution and applicable law. At the same time, those protections have to be balanced with the legal rights of others.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C most closely reflects my position. I support protecting Medicare and Medicaid for those who depend on them while preserving private healthcare choices and working to strengthen access to quality healthcare, particularly in rural Georgia.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Yes. The United States’ relationship with Israel is important. Israel is a key democratic ally in the Middle East, and our partnership strengthens the security interests of both nations. I also recognize the historical and biblical significance Israel holds for many Americans.

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I strongly support the Second Amendment and the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. Our focus should be on enforcing existing laws and keeping firearms out of the hands of violent criminals and others who are legally prohibited from possessing them, rather than placing additional burdens on responsible gun owners. We can protect public safety while also protecting the constitutional rights of law-abiding Americans.
