QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

None, an abortion should only be allowed due to medical necessity if the mother's life is in danger. We need to promote policies that support pregnant women and families to protect both the mother and child. Supporting pregnancy resource/care centers, improving our foster care and adoption systems as well as improving resources for single mothers, single fathers and families both before birth and afterwards are all apart of this.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Agree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

To me this phrase means government should not restrict anyone's free exercise of religion or decision to not exercise any religion. We should be free to practice and express our faith publicly and privately. This idea prevents the government from controlling churches or their involvement in public life. While also making sure government is not weaponizing itself against believers. Faith-based voices deserve access to public conversations.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The relationship between the United States and Israel is of the utmost importance. As a bastion of democracy in the Middle East, Israel serves as a strategic ally for the United States. Both nations are founded on similar Judeo-Christian values and both are essential in fighting back against radical islamic terrorists and American enemies such as Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS and Al-Qaeda in the region and around the world.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. Government also needs to focus on preventative/front-end services and programs that reduce the burden on Medicaid and Medicare as Ohioans age.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Wages should be set by the market instead of government mandates. Raising the minimum wage can reduce hiring, force small businesses to decrease staff, or increase prices. This also leads to increased inflation, which offsets the increased wages.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1. Reduce Spending: Ohio's total budget is roughly $100 Billion in each fiscal year. We need to eliminate spending where philanthropy and private investment would be better suited to fund programs and services. 2. Audit State Agencies, Programs and Boards to prevent fraud and abuse. Every dollar needs to be accounted for. 3. Reform Unemployment benefits. 4. Enforce Medicaid eligibility verification. 5. Accountability in State Universities and Colleges to reduce waste of taxpayer resources.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

Sanctuary cities must be outlawed. Our communities need to work with our federal immigration enforcement authorities to remove illegal aliens. We must do what we can as a state to support immigration enforcement and protect our southern border.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

State education departments, and local school districts know best how to properly educate their students and what the needs of each district are, not unelected bureaucrats in Washington D.C.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

Public safety, and law and order should be the focus. Offenders need to be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law and victims rights should be prioritized. In order to achieve these goals we need to make sure this system rehabilitates those incarcerated, to make sure they do not become repeat offenders. Making sure they become positive contributing members of society must also be a priority.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The right to keep and bear arms is a fundamental constitutional liberty. Our focus should be making sure law-abiding citizens should not be burdened by any attempt to protect public safety. To do so we must strengthen penalties for gun crimes, prioritize school security, mental health programs, as well as supporting our law enforcement with necessary funding and resources to effectively police our neighborhoods.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Neutral

Any legalized gambling needs to be well regulated in order to prevent bad actors from getting involved. Necessary resources need to be made available to help prevent individuals from becoming addicted. Additionally, efforts need to be made to prevent our youth from becoming involved with sports gambling.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm a member of the Rock Church of Marysville, a non-denominational church. I serve the one true God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal. Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. The Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her Great Commission. A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the fourfold purpose of leading the Church in: evangelization of the world, worship of God, building a Body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son and Meeting human need with ministries of love and compassion.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Photo I.D. should be required to vote. These I.D.s are easily attainable and required for many parts of daily life such as boarding a flight, opening a bank account, purchasing age restricted items, checking into a hotel etc. Protecting the integrity of our elections must be a priority and requiring photo I.D. to vote does exactly that.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Disagree

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Coal, oil and natural gas are the most reliable energy sources that will supply the demand and allow for cheaper energy costs. Sources such as wind, solar, geo-thermal, hydro powered, and nuclear should also be utilized when reasonable to do so.
