QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
They should not be. I believe the key word to this question is "elective". We should never elect to take a life.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Agree
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Agree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of church and state means the government cannot establish a national religion or control the church—but it was never meant to remove faith from public life. Our founders believed religious liberty was essential to a free society, and that people of faith should be able to live out their beliefs openly, including in the public square. It’s about protecting the church from government overreach—not silencing faith in our schools, communities, or policies.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes—America’s relationship with Israel matters because we share core values like democracy, liberty, and the rule of law. Israel is a strong ally in a volatile region, and standing with them means supporting freedom, stability, and a nation’s right to defend itself. At the same time, being a strong ally doesn’t mean writing a blank check—it means maintaining a relationship based on mutual respect, shared interests, and accountability.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
I most closely align with C. Medicaid and Medicare should remain as safety nets for those who truly need them—but they need clear guardrails to ensure sustainability and accountability. These programs should prioritize the most vulnerable, reduce fraud and abuse, and encourage efficiency, while preserving space for private healthcare and patient choice.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I believe in fair pay, but not one-size-fits-all mandates. Raising the min wage too high can cost jobs and hurt small businesses. I support growing wages through a strong economy, more opportunity, and policies that help Iowans earn—and keep—more.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1) Cut the size of government and require regular audits to find and eliminate waste. 2) Increase transparency so taxpayers can see where their money is going. 3) End no-bid contracts and backroom deals. 4) Focus on core services—not bloated administration—and return more control to local communities.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The goal of the criminal justice system is to uphold justice—protecting the innocent, holding offenders accountable, and restoring victims. It must prioritize public safety, defend constitutional rights, and ensure laws are applied fairly. We should be tough on crime, but also committed to real justice that supports victims and strengthens our communities.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The right to keep and bear arms is not a privilege granted by government—it is a fundamental liberty rooted in the natural right of self-defense. Law-abiding citizens must always retain the ability to protect their families, safeguard their property, and resist any threat to their freedom. Policies should focus on enforcing existing laws and holding violent offenders accountable—not punishing responsible gun owners. A free people must always have the means to defend themselves.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
Parents have a fundamental right to direct the upbringing of their children—a right rooted in family, conscience, and love. Every child is uniquely made and learns in their own way. Parents are best positioned to choose the environment that safeguards their children’s hearts and minds, preserves their innocence, and cultivates their character. Whether public, private, religious, vocational, charter, or home-based, each option deserves support to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, g
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a covenant, designed by God, between one man and one woman. It is the cornerstone of family life, the first community where children are formed in love, truth, and responsibility. As the fundamental building block of society, marriage strengthens neighborhoods, communities, and future generations. Protecting marriage means upholding the timeless values that sustain strong families—because when families thrive, Iowa thrives.
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My faith is the foundation of everything I do. My husband and I actively serve and lead in ministry at our church, and we strive to live out our beliefs with humility, integrity, and a heart for others. I believe every person is created with purpose and inherent value, and that truth guides how I approach leadership, family, and service. My convictions shape my commitment to protecting life, strengthening families, and standing for what is right, even when it’s difficult. Faith isn’t just part of my life—it is the lens through which I serve my community and make every decision.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
Women’s spaces exist for a reason: to protect privacy, dignity, and, in many cases, safety for those who have already experienced vulnerability or trauma. Last session I was one of the speakers requested to define what a women is in Iowa's Constitution. I will continue to stand—respectfully but firmly—for policies that recognize biological truth and uphold the safety and dignity of women and girls.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Neutral
I believe we should be good stewards of the earth. But I’m cautious about sweeping claims that demand urgent, top-down political control while ignoring other real environmental factors. We already engage in man-made weather modification like cloud seeding, and there are ongoing questions about its long-term impact, and very little is known about it's safety. Yet those conversations are often sidelined while policies push costly mandates on everyday families.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear
