QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I do not believe an elective abortion should be an option. If the birth is still born, it would not be considered an abortion. The lone exception would be if the mother's life is in danger. Then, the baby should be delivered by C-Section and allow the child to have a chance to survive, not an elective abortion.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Neutral
I agree with the option of adopting embryos. I am not sure the number of embryos for adoption can be stored. This is one of the concerns with IVF. I support IVF but the excess embryos are an issue with this process.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Agree
I believe we should legislate/regulate the interstate transportation of this drug, but I am not positive the Comstock Act is the correct method.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The government will not establish a state religion. It does not state religion should be removed from government, but that government should not be used to establish a state religion.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
I do not agree that services should be provided when the service would violate moral or religious beliefs, but this objection cannot apply to any belief. A fine line exists between objecting due to prejudice vs. moral or religious beliefs.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, I have a strong belief in the impact of Israel in the Middle East. The US should protect the existence of the Jewish state.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C. We are at a point in our economy and retirement process that we cannot afford to defund Medicaid and Medicare leaving our aging population without coverage but continuing to add additional benefits and programs cannot continue to increase as the cost to the economy is too great.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Disagree
This provides an invitation for misuse of data that can be a detriment to the public.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on the minimum wage?
The free market should determine wages. I don't agree that we should abolish the minimum wage, but the minimum wage is not designed to support a family. This is an entry level wage for students or first-time employees.
I support using taxpayer funds to lobby the state legislature.
Disagree
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
Use of tax dollars from income and property tax should be reviewed. The tax rates should be reduced, and the budgets need to be reduced to match the reduction of taxes collected. School funding of mandates should be reviewed for the actual results (success) compared to intention. I believe that elected officials should not be lifelong employees of the state. The retirement benefits should not be offered to elected officials. Term Limits should be implemented to reduce lifelong legislators.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
The direction of educational control should be determined closer to the students impacted. The states and communities should be the point of control.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Agree
Tracking the funding can reveal the impact of the outside influence. Foreign entities should not be funding the local school districts.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
Protect the public, deter crime, punish those breaking the law, and to attempt to rehabilitate the criminals.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Agree
Our laws should be based on the US Constitution.
The government should use automated-enforcement cameras to track speeding and criminal activity.
Disagree
Many examples exist of the cameras used for good but the risk of the tracking being used for other purposes is a greater risk to the public.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The right to keep and bear arms, guns, is a constitutional right. I believe this right should not be block outside of current laws against gun ownership for felons or mentally ill.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a born-again Christian that believes in the virgin birth, death for our sins, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe in the Trinity, I am Pro-life, and I believe the Bible is God's inspired Word.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Disagree
We may not be able to reduce the existence of gambling, but I do not support the expansion.
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's upbringing, including their religious, health, and educational well-being.
Agree
Attempts to transition or encourage a child to transition to the opposite sex constitutes child abuse.
Strongly Agree
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear energy will be the future of energy combined with the use of non-renewable fuels, coal and oil. The buildup of nuclear energy can offset the fossil needs to allow both energy sources to supply the needs of the country.
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Disagree
The excessive pollution examples in China and other countries provide examples of abuse of the environment. Uncontrolled deforestation can have long-term impacts. I believe the climate is impacted by natural causes to greater extent and the cyclical existence within the environment such as volcano eruptions, solar radiation, etc..
