QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Neutral

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

As much help as the family needs. This is a family decision, not one for the school to get involved in unless requested by the family.

ECONOMY

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Neutral

We are talking about K-12 here, I feel like this is a question that should be asked to College Education. I'm a strong believer in educating families as much as possible regarding debt for college, or taking advantage of the A Plus Program, or attractive alternatives like the trades.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I’m running for the Board of Education because I believe every child deserves a strong educational safety net, one that catches them when life is tough and lifts them toward opportunity. Our schools are the heart of this community. They don’t just teach math and reading; they nurture hope, character, and confidence. Government funding for education is not a handout, it’s an investment in our children and in our shared future.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

To me, the separation of church and state means that our public schools must remain places where every student, from every background, faith, or belief system — feels equally welcome and respected. Our Constitution protects both freedom of religion and freedom from state-sponsored religion. That means schools should never promote or impose any particular faith, but they also must respect students’ rights to express their own beliefs in appropriate, personal ways.

IMMIGRATION

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

Neutral

I'm not sure this question has a place in the Lindbergh Schools Board of Education Campaign. Everything is way too polarized right now regarding ICE!

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Neutral

Once again, this is for the families to decide. The school should present all resources to the family!

Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Agree

Consequences for bad behavior are not about punishment, they’re about protecting a safe, respectful learning environment for everyone. Students learn best when classrooms are orderly, consistent, and free from disruption. Clear expectations and fair consequences help create a culture of respect and responsibility. But discipline should always be balanced with understanding. When students make mistakes, the goal isn’t just to correct them, it’s to teach them.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Neutral

I believe in providing them a thorough education in America's founding documents, but we shouldn't be cultivating American patriotism. That could be a by-product of the learning. I'd say teach the facts, with no rhetoric, and let the students cultivate accordingly. Personally, we have a great country and lots of opportunity.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Disagree

I do not support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education. While I strongly believe in local control and community input, I also see value in having national standards and support that ensure fairness and opportunity for every student across the country. The federal Department of Education plays an important role in protecting students’ civil rights, setting consistent benchmarks, and providing funds for special education, low-income schools, and programs that might otherwise be overlooked.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

I support teaching comprehensive, age-appropriate sexual education that equips students with accurate information, promotes healthy decision-making, and reinforces respect for self and others. Our schools should partner with families, provide transparency in curriculum, and focus on giving students the tools they need to protect their health and develop healthy relationships throughout life.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Civics, American History, Information Technology, Personal Finances, Vocational Learning, Social Emotional Learning, Physical Fitness, Art & Music, Foreign Language, Sexuality, Gender Identity (Addressed carefully within health and social-emotional learning, ensuring respect for all students), Critical Race Theory (Not typically part of K–12 curricula; discussions of race should focus on factual history and promoting inclusion.)

Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.

Neutral

Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and the development of strong character, the foundation of both personal success and self-government. Our education system has a responsibility not only to teach reading, math, science, and history, but also to cultivate integrity, responsibility, and respect. These values prepare students to become active, informed citizens who can uphold the democratic traditions that have guided our nation for generations. Students can reach conclusions.

School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

Neutral

I'd have to see any proposal regarding school choice. It needs to be designed carefully so that students and families don't fall through the cracks. It's a heated debate, but one that I'm sure rational people can come up with a decent game plan. Discussion is the focus here.

VALUES

Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Disagree

This question shouldn't be a part of this campaign! We do have to provide protections, and allowing a male inside a woman's locker room will never be ok with me!

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I live by faith-based values of integrity, respect, and service. I believe in leading with compassion and fairness, while ensuring that public schools remain welcoming to all students and families, regardless of belief. I strongly believe that the Custodian deserves as much respect, if not more, than the Superintendent.

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Choose not to answer

Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.

Neutral

Schools should focus on creating a safe and supportive environment while ensuring that students receive appropriate care from qualified medical and mental health professionals. Our role as educators is not to diagnose or affirm medical conditions, but to partner with parents, families, and experts to ensure each child gets the help they need to live healthy, stable, and productive lives. Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and kindness, and our decisions should always reflect both

School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.

Agree

Schools have a responsibility to expose students to age-appropriate works that encourage critical thinking, empathy, and understanding of the human experience. At the same time, I support thoughtful review processes that ensure materials are appropriate for the developmental level of students.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I believe that showing identification to vote is a common-sense measure that helps protect the integrity of our elections. Just as we need ID for everyday transactions like driving, banking, or enrolling in school, we should also be required to verify identity when participating in one of our most important civic duties.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

2014 General Election 2016 General Election 2018 General Election 2020 General Election 2022 General Election

What political party are you affiliated with?

None. Issue management.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to immigration and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Conservative

I would describe myself as someone who leans conservative in my values, I believe in personal responsibility, fiscal discipline, strong families, and respect for tradition. At the same time, I’m open to dialogue and willing to listen to different perspectives. Good governance requires both conviction and cooperation. I believe in finding common ground where we can, while standing firm on core principles that serve students, families, and the broader community.

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Neutral

I believe the safety of students and staff must be our top priority. While I understand and support the idea that trained, licensed faculty could help protect students in an active shooter situation, I also share the concern that introducing firearms into schools must be handled with extreme caution. If such programs are considered, they must include rigorous screening, extensive and ongoing professional training, mental health evaluations, and regular safety reviews.
