QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Every human life has inherent value and worth, and I do not believe taxpayers should be compelled to financially support organizations that perform or promote abortion. Regardless of where someone stands politically, many Americans and Coloradans have deeply held moral and religious convictions on this issue, and taxpayer dollars should not be used in ways that violate those convictions. Government funding should reflect core responsibilities and respect for conscience rights.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I do not support elective abortion. The only circumstance where I believe medical intervention is necessary is when the life of the mother is in immediate danger and the pregnancy is not viable, such as in the case of an ectopic pregnancy where neither the mother nor the baby can survive without emergency treatment. I also believe it is important to distinguish between elective abortion and legitimate medical care following a miscarriage or other nonviable pregnancy complications.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Every person is created with inherent value and dignity and human rights begin at the beginning of life, not at a stage determined by government, culture, or convenience. A just society should protect the most vulnerable, including the unborn. Laws should reflect the principle that every human life matters and deserves protection and we should strive to build a culture that values life.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Agree

Human embryos created through artificial methods deserve protection from purposeful destruction because human life has inherent value and dignity from its earliest stages, regardless of the circumstances surrounding conception. We must approach reproductive technologies with care and caution. Human embryos should not be treated as disposable commodities or subjected to destruction for convenience, experimentation, or profit.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

Existing federal laws should be enforced as they were written and intended by Congress unless they are changed through the proper legislative process. That includes laws related to the interstate distribution of abortion-inducing drugs. The rule of law matters. If a federal statute remains on the books, it should not simply be selectively disregarded based on political preferences.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Businesses should have greater freedom to determine wages based on the job, experience, performance, and the realities of the market rather than relying on increasing government mandates.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

The ability to own property, build a business, invest, create, and benefit from the fruits of your labor is foundational to individual freedom and economic opportunity. Free enterprise encourages innovation, competition, hard work, and personal responsibility. Throughout history, free markets and private property rights have created more prosperity, opportunity, and upward mobility than centralized government systems ever have.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

Reduce Government Bureaucracy and Administrative Growth; Eliminate Non-Essential Spending and Politically Driven Programs; Increase Transparency and Accountability in Government Spending

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The government should not establish or control a national religion and the church should not be controlled by the government. It was intended to protect religious freedom, not remove faith or religious expression from public life. The Constitution doesn't require people of faith to stay silent or leave their beliefs at the door. Our nation’s founders openly acknowledged the importance of faith, morality, and biblical principles in shaping a free society.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Individuals and businesses do not surrender their constitutional rights or deeply held religious convictions because they operate a business or participate in the marketplace. Religious liberty and freedom of conscience are foundational rights that should be protected, not overridden by government mandates. No one should be forced by the government to participate in activities or express messages that directly violate their sincerely held moral or religious beliefs.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

My view aligns most closely with C. I don't believe government should take over healthcare or move toward a universal healthcare system. Healthcare decisions are best made by patients, families, and doctors, not bureaucrats or politicians. Greater government control over healthcare leads to higher costs, less innovation, longer wait times, and fewer choices for patients. Programs like Medicare and Medicaid are meant to serve seniors and people who are temporarily struggling.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

Medical information is personal and Americans have a right to privacy regarding their healthcare decisions and medical history. Expanding government collection and monitoring of personal health data raises serious concerns about privacy, overreach, misuse of information, and the erosion of individual freedoms. Government’s role should be limited, focused on protecting rights and ensuring basic legal safeguards, not monitoring citizens’ private medical lives.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Americans should be deeply concerned about the CCP’s influence within supply chains, technology, agriculture, education, and key industries. Relying too heavily on adversarial nations for manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, technology components, or critical resources creates long-term national security risks. We need to recognize the actions and objectives of an authoritarian government that does not share America’s values.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Absolutely! I believe the United States’ relationship with Israel is critically important both from a biblical standpoint and from a national security standpoint. At a time when threats from terrorism, Iran, and other hostile actors continue to grow, maintaining a strong alliance with Israel is important to both American national security and the broader defense of democratic values and freedom.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

The primary responsibility of government is to protect and serve its own citizens and uphold the rule of law. Policies that intentionally limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement undermine public trust and put local communities at risk. There is a legal process for immigration and it should be respected and enforced. When sanctuary policies prioritize those who are in the country illegally over the safety of American citizens, the government is no longer putting citizens first.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Education decisions are best made closest to the students they affect by parents and teachers, not by federal bureaucracies. Parents should have a strong voice in their children’s education because they know their children better than government agencies do. Reducing federal control can help cut unnecessary bureaucracy and allow more resources to go directly toward students and classrooms rather than administrative systems.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

Our schools and universities should be focused on educating and preparing American students. There are serious national security concerns surrounding foreign funding in education, especially from governments that do not share America’s values of freedom, free speech, religious liberty, and constitutional rights. Education should reflect and strengthen the interests of the United States. It should not be shaped by foreign governments seeking influence within our institutions.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Parents have the fundamental right and responsibility to direct their child’s health, education, and overall well-being. Parents know and love their children better than any government institution ever could and they should be recognized as the primary decision-makers in their children’s lives. Government’s role should be to support families, not replace them.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Children are still developing emotionally, mentally, and physically, and I do not believe minors are capable of making life-altering decisions involving hormones, puberty blockers, surgeries, or permanent identity changes with lifelong consequences. Children deserve protection, stability, truth, and compassionate care and safeguarding their long-term physical and emotional well-being should come before political ideology or social pressure.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

This definition of marriage predates government itself and is rooted in biblical truth, natural law, and the longstanding foundation of family and society. Government does not have the authority to redefine what God created. Throughout history, strong families built on committed marriages between a husband and wife have served as one of the foundational building blocks of healthy communities and stable societies.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Strongly Disagree

Colorado already has more than enough gambling establishments and continued expansion can create serious financial, social, and mental health consequences. Government should not become more dependent on gambling revenue as a solution for funding priorities. Government should focus on strengthening families and promoting economic opportunity, not encouraging greater dependence on activities that can lead to addiction and financial hardship.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a born-again, Jesus-following Christian, and my faith shapes the way I view life, leadership, and service to others. I believe in biblical truth, the value and dignity of every human life, personal responsibility, and the importance of living with integrity and courage. I also value the foundational principles established by our Founding Fathers, including individual liberty, limited government, religious freedom, and the God-given rights protected by the Constitution. Those principles helped create one of the greatest nations in history and are worth preserving for future generations. At the core of my values are faith, family, life, liberty, and the belief that government exists to protect the freedoms of the people.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Voting is one of the most important responsibilities and rights we have as citizens and there should be safeguards in place to protect the integrity and public trust of our elections. In everyday life, we are asked to show ID for far less significant activities, such as buying medications, boarding an airplane, opening a bank account, or even entering stores like Costco using a membership card with a photo. Requiring ID to vote is not an extreme standard; it is a common-sense measure.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Judging or compensating people based on race moves our country further away from the principle of equal treatment under the law and continues to feed the divisions that many Americans are working to overcome. Our nation has a painful history in many areas and we should acknowledge and learn from that history honestly. People should not be held financially responsible for the sins and injustices of past generations simply because they share the same race or background.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

Women and girls have fought for decades to secure equal opportunities, fairness, safety, and privacy in athletics and female-only spaces and I believe those protections should be preserved. In sports, biological differences between males and females can create significant competitive advantages related to strength, speed, endurance, and physicality. Protecting women’s spaces and opportunities is not discrimination.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

I strongly disagree with the idea that man-made climate change should be used to justify sweeping government control, costly mandates, or policies that hurt American families, businesses, and energy independence. We should be good stewards of the environment and natural resources God has entrusted to us, but stewardship should be balanced with economic reality, energy reliability, national security, and the needs of everyday Americans.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

I believe natural gas is one of the most reliable, affordable, and consistent energy sources available. Coal still plays an important role in maintaining a reliable energy supply as well.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

I strongly believe in limited government, individual liberty, constitutional rights, free enterprise, religious freedom, and personal responsibility. I believe government exists to protect the God-given rights of the people, not to control every aspect of their lives or continue expanding beyond its intended role. Conservatism is about more than politics; it's about preserving the values, freedoms, and constitutional principles that have allowed America to prosper.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The primary goals of the criminal justice system should be to protect innocent people, uphold the rule of law, and ensure that criminal behavior carries real consequences. A justice system that fails to enforce consequences ultimately fails both victims and society as a whole. The system should protect victims and public safety. Law-abiding citizens deserve to feel safe in their communities and the government has a responsibility to enforce laws fairly and consistently.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Children are being exposed to predators, trafficking, explicit material, grooming, and exploitation through social media, gaming platforms, messaging apps, and other online spaces, and protecting them from these dangers is a legitimate role of government. Laws should be enforced aggressively against those who exploit children, distribute abusive material, engage in trafficking, or prey on minors online. I also believe parents should remain the primary authority in their children’s lives.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

America’s legal system is founded on the Constitution, equal protection under the law, individual liberty, and the rights guaranteed to every citizen regardless of religion or background. Those constitutional principles must remain the highest authority in our legal system. Sharia law is not compatible with the constitutional framework, freedoms, and values that define the United States and Western civilization and no foreign or religious legal system should supersede or compete with that.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Law-abiding Americans should not lose their rights because of the actions of criminals. The focus should be on enforcing existing laws and targeting violent offenders, not creating additional restrictions that primarily impact responsible gun owners. Criminals do not follow gun laws, and many proposed restrictions place burdens on citizens who are already obeying the law. Public safety is strengthened when responsible citizens are able to protect themselves.
