What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Government has no right to impose a state religion but it does not limit the exercising of religious beliefs or practices within government. The phrase, which is not from the Constitution but from a letter from Thomas Jefferson to a church who feared government intervention with their religious freedom, has been distorted to try to quell religious expression in any form in or around government activities or even government buildings. This is not the meaning or intent of the founders.
