QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I am Pro Life, due to my values as a Christian. I believe children should have a right to life. I do not agree with late term abortions, and I do believe that life begins as conception as my faith entails. If elected, I would love to increase the education in biology and try to reduce the number of teen pregnancies through proper education.

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

I believe the School system could help find the correct adoption agency for them, help in getting contacts for things that they need, as well as helping them as a support group. I believe we should return to biology, so they can understand how the body works and understand the risks of teen pregnancies to try and prevent unwanted pregnancies. I would also agree to allow the recorded baby dolls to be used in biology classes to help the students understand, as well as allow us to know how we can help with tips. If I'm elected, I would work to help serve the community in this setting, and try to stop the number in unwanted pregnancies and make sure the students have the proper education.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

I will say this; the United States Constitution nor the North Carolina constitution uses that term. It is made up. What it does say, is freedom of religion. It allows us to practice as we see fit. I believe that it's obvious the founding fathers believed in God by invoking him multiple times. I believe that in school, prayer should be an option for students, as well as the Bible and other materials if they would like to read them, and have group studies if they see fit as an option for believers

ECONOMY

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

Public education is vital to a local economy and for the future workforce of a County. I believe that making investments in funding with Trade Education Opportunities will improve the overall economy, by encouraging students to stay local and work at home if they aren't planning for college. Giving Vocational education investments will assist in this. We must balance the budget as well to insure we aren't subsidizing bad scores, and I have years on experience in budgeting and management.

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Agree

Yes, I do believe by having student loan forgiveness that's unwarranted, it allows students to enter into courses and curriculum they don't want, and allows them to quit while tax payers foot the bill. I believe we should have more STEM fairs and other opportunities that allows them to make better career choices moving forward to make sure that's really what they would like to enter into. Also, by having Trade opportunities, it allows students to know their options for better pay outside college

IMMIGRATION

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

Agree

I believe that the United States have laws for a reason and have to be enforced. I believe that the focus should be gang affiliates, drug cartel members, domestic abusers, and others who commit serious crimes first and foremost. Those are the people causing the problems for Americans, and they should be the focus, not immigrants just working. I will say, that illegal immigration harms wages and undercuts our dollar value, but we need to get rid of criminals more than anything else.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

No, they should not. We should not encourage abortions in schools, or any political ideology for that matter. If we had someone preaching to students, there would be an uproar. If planned parenthood helped with pregnancy planning only, then okay. I believe we can bring in a group that doesn't have political ties and will keep it biology based with facts and keep the ideologies outside the classroom. We need a return to basic core curriculum and education that educates and not indoctrinates.

Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

I completely agree. We must have a strong policy reform when it comes to discipline. We need to use the resources available to our schools like the Scared Straight program, a Buddy system program, and others. We must be available to assist students when they need us. Though, when they do not listen, we can not allow students to continue to get away with bullying, attacking teachers, and causing issues that affects their learning and educational time of the other students. It is very important.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

This is a campaign promise of mine. Yes, absolutely. If elected, I will put a focus on the local history of Scotland County, as well as the founding documents, America's founding, and also to start the school day with the Pledge of Allegiance. With so many being taught by outside groups to hate America, we have to inform them of the greatness of this nation and how lucky we are to live here compared to other nations. They must know their rights, and must know how important our freedoms are.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

Yes. I believe that having education at the state level will allow us to have a more focused system for education funding and to the needs of the education system. Their will still be funding for school, just without the red tape coming from Washington DC. The more locally focused education is, the better off I believe it will be. So I agree for that reason.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Abortion side effects as a DETERRENT away from abortion only, Abstinence to stop unwanted pregnancies, consent of course, contraceptives to stop diseases and unwanted pregnancies, human anatomy, the reproductive system, health outcomes, stages of pregnancy and fetal development. To make it more simple, if it's biology, teach it. If it involves political ideology, discard it. Abstinence and contraceptives is apart of being safe and preparing them with knowledge of maintaining health, so it stays.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Language arts, mathematics, science, Vocational learning, American History, Civics, Personal Finances, banking, Physical Fitness, Biology, Information Technology, Social Emotional learning, Foreign Language, Home Ecs, Arts and Music. We must eliminate curriculum that divides students into categories. We should however, always teach history and the past, and always show how we overcame and grew as a nation. We must teach that every American is equal and to respect one another as Americans.

Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.

Strongly Agree

As another campaign focus, I believe it's vital to the future of this nation. Students show be rewarded when they do good. I believe we should bring back field day and not Funday, so students are rewarded for placing and have them always strive for excellence and improve our education standing. Having a well informed public and workforce who know their rights, obey the law, and preserve American laws and traditions will show how America moves forward. We must educate to strive for excellence.

School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

Strongly Agree

I believe that having a strong local public education system is vital, but there's been many issues lately. I believe we see many teachers leaving and going to the private school system, though they typically make less and it's due to safety. We have to improve our educational systems through curriculum reform and policy focuses. I believe competition is important, and benefits the students success in the long run. We must improve our public schools in every way we can for a better tomorrow

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Neutral

I will say we need to have measures in place to stop this from happening in the first place and to tighten security to prevent active shooters. I will say if the public believes it's the right thing, and the teachers agree, then I would vote for it. Though, I do believe that we should have very extensive protocols, the highest level of training particularly in this situation, and the support of the public and teachers first.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to immigration and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

VALUES

Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Disagree

No, the risk is too much. As well as the issues that arise legally. Parents do not want their child with a different biological makeup in a locker room with their child. As well, it's not fair to students who are at a disadvantage physically or otherwise. Plus, students should not make those kind of decisions until they are age appropriate. For this, it needs to be removed from schools for the safety and protection of the students and administrative staff as well.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm a Christian. I have been preaching for many years, and my faith is why I became a Republican to begin with. I believe that the morality that the Bible teaches could help many students, who are looking for answers on how to live. I have conservative values, as stated. I am Pro Life, and I believe we should treat all equally. My faith is a driving factor as to how I live, and I believe it can help so many students as well. Having Christian values, and seeing the eroding of our society has been troubling. Though, it can be fixed through hard work, determination, and most of all faith and with God's help.

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

We must remember that parents are the primary stakeholders in their children's education and nobody wants to see them succeed more than the parents. They should have a say, and if elected, I will implement a Parental Advisory Board to advise the school board on decisions. It would be a volunteer board, at no cost to taxpayers, and would have one parent per school in the districts to be certain the kids are fully represented and can relay information to us in real time so we can make decisions.

I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Strongly Agree

I completely agree. It really explains itself. We have to judge every person by what they do, how they act, and by merit. No factors that they can help should ever be used in decision making. We must live and follow the dreams and words of Dr. King Jr.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

I personally believe that the institution of marriage is labeled as one man and one woman. I am aware, however that the law of the land says otherwise and we must always follow the law. Though, personally, I agree that marriage is the institution of one man and one woman together for life.

Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.

Agree

It is stated as being mental health issues, and therefore should be treated as such and treated as needed.

School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.

Disagree

I believe that if parents do not want their child learning about certain things, then they should be allowed to tell schools to restrict certain content and allow parents to opt out of that literature on behalf of their kids. As schools, it's their job to educate and prepare them for the workforce and life. I believe the parents should have final say, and allowing schools to hide this by making certain ones exempt, though it breaks their views, should not be allowed. Students should decide later

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

No. We must be certain that the person is who they say the are, to determine that they are only voting once, and that no violations of voting laws are happening. Plus, voter ID's are free so they are available to every legal voter of the state and should be enforced as such.
