QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Unfortunately, state and federal law don't help here. They supposedly protect even minor students' "privacy rights" and thereby make it difficult for the school to contact the parents, who should definitely be told about something this serious. The school should immediately contact the parent or guardian if there is suspected sexual abuse or if there is an imminent health concern. Then, with parental permission, if at all possible, I think the school should refer the young lady to a pregnancy care center where she will receive truly helpful information given in a compassionate way but will not have abortion recommended nor will she be referred for an abortion. She should not be referred to any Planned Parenthood facility.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The state has no authority to establish a religion nor to impede a person's free exercise of his/her religion--in public or in private, which includes in a school. Students don't shed their First Amendment rights when they walk through the school door.
ECONOMY
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Limited for K-12--especially so for public colleges/universities. Government funding for K-12 comes from every level--local, state, & federal. The WI constitution requires the state legislature to provide for school funding for K-12, largely through state aid & local property taxes, ensuring a "sound basic education" for students ages 4-20. Schools & colleges need to be particularly circumspect & transparent in how they use any public monies. K-12 schools must focus on a "sound basic education."
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.
Agree
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
I don't support the teaching of Sex Ed. That said, I think within a health class or a science class, the following should be taught from a biological perspective: human anatomy, including the reproductive system; stages of pregnancy and fetal development. If abstinence is taught in any course, it should also include teaching being abstinent until one is married. Abstinence is the only sure way to prevent unplanned pregnancies and STIs/STDs.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, American History, Civics, Art & Music, Physical Education, Foreign Language, Information Technology, Personal Finances (assuming this is topics such as balancing a check book, understanding credit and interest rates, etc.)
Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.
Strongly Agree
School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Neutral
I see both the positive and the negative in this situation. I know really good people who very much disagree on concealed carry in general and especially when it comes to guns in schools. In general, I believe strongly in the 2nd Amendment; but I also understand why schools have been cautious about allowing guns to be carried by faculty or anyone else on school premises. I lean more towards "Agree," with certain precautions/restrictions in place and assiduously observed.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

What political party are you affiliated with?
Loosely to GOP
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to immigration and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I was on the Watertown Unified School District Board of Education from 2000-2005, with a conservative voting record. In fact, I was the only board member to vote "no" on the Human Growth & Development (aka Sex Ed) curriculum back then. In addition, for over 25 years, I led the very conservative statewide policy organizations, Wisconsin Family Council & Wisconsin Family Action. These organizations have a very public track record of advocating for pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty legislation.
VALUES
Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe salvation is only through accepting Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, as one's own Savior. I believe the Bible is authoritative, infallible, inerrant, and forever settled, giving me all I need to grow my faith and for living my faith.
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Agree
I don't agree with everything Dr. King, Jr. espoused, but I do agree with this statement.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.
Strongly Agree
School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.
Strongly Disagree
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
