Taxpayers should not be mandated to pay for any abortions. Taxpayers should not be responsible for procedures that they may or may not believe in. And government should not pick and choose which medical conditions taxpayers should pay for. If taxpayers are forced to pay for abortions, then why are they not mandated to pay for cancer treatments, heart treatments, etc... Where does it stop?

As a nurse I err on the side of life and it is the law in Texas. I do appreciate the 88th Texas Legislature clarifying the parameters for an abortion for the medical professionals in instances where it affects the life of the mother.

All human life deserves legal protections whether in the womb, except in cases that threaten the life of the mother, or after birth, until natural death.

Human embryos created by artificial methods should be protected from the harvesting of body parts. Human beings are not lab rats for replacement body parts.

Minimum wage is the law Federal law, and it should be followed. Minimum wages were set to provide the basic necessities for families.

Our country was built in a Capitalist society with the right to own property. It is the American dream. Free markets spur ingenuity, entrepreneurship and the free thinking of ideas. It is the bedrock of our nation. A free nation is a prosperous nation.

My top priorities for eliminating government waste is: 1. Audit all government agencies and eliminate those that are nonessential for citizen safety, state sovereignty, and commerce 2. Eliminate government agencies that have duplicate functions or programs 3. Eliminate DEI programs from all government agencies 4. Eliminate government agencies that duplicate the legislatures oversight responsibilities

Separation of Church and State means the government cannot dictate a state or national religion. It does not mean separating Church from the public areas.

Private businesses should not be mandated to provide services to others against their will or their beliefs. Each business has the prerogative to serve whoever they want. If business owners choose to not to serve someone, then they are the ones denying themselves the sale. They are the ones taking the risk of losing business.

C. Medicaid and Medicare should remain available to those who qualify for coverage, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. Medicaid and Medicare coverage should be available for the disabled and the elderly. However, the current Affordable Care Act is fiscally unsustainable and provides less care for the patients. It adds a layer of government bureaucracy that is detrimental to patient care. Therefore, no other taxpayer-funded government program should be considered.

Government should keep a database of people with medical conditions for medical purposes such as epidemics, pandemics, preventable treatments, etc... and for economic information only, not make the medical decisions to provide treatment or not. The statistics are good information and should be shared with patients and medical professionals, but the medical decisions are between the physician and the patient.

China is a communist country and not an ally of the United States. They are a threat to our sovereignty and to our nation's safety and security. They have proven it many times, such as the hot air balloon floating over our nation, copying our technology, working behind the scenes to devalue the dollar, and unleashing a deadly virus on our nation and the world. Yes, Israel is an ally of the United States, and their partnership should be respected, especially due to their geographical location. The Middle East has been an unstable area for centuries and Israel is a stabilizing force that contains the region.

Sanctuary cities threaten the security of our cities and states, and the safety of our citizens. Undocumented people coming across the border are not vetted. Crimes and murders have increased in those cities who claim asylum for illegal aliens, and it has threatened our states sovereignty; therefore, I am against sanctuary cities.

Since the Department of Education was created in 1979 students' education has declined. In numerous recent international academic competitions, American high school students regularly finished last, near the last or in the bottom half of the students in math and science testing. A few decades ago, America had one of the world's highest literacy rates, but it now ranks 65th in the world among 200 nations. Education was always meant to be managed by the states.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from directly funding American children's education. However, indirect funding such as scholarships for exchange students enhances cultural education and builds intellectual and cultural respect and should be allowed.

I am against any kind of gambling in Texas. For every $1 collected in revenue from gambling, taxpayers pay $1.90 for the consequences of gambling. It is the leading cause of bankruptcy. Domestic and child abuse increase by 16% in states that permit gambling. Mental illness increases 40-fold in states where gambling is permitted. Gambling is not fiscally, domestically or medically good for the state.

I am a Christian who believes that God is the creator of all things. I attend First Dallas Baptist Church in Dallas. I believe in the gospel and that the Bible is the word of God. The gospel is what guides my faith and my life in all things.

No racial reparations. America was the only country that fought a Civil war to end the barbaric act of slavery, and we lost over 600,000 people in that war.

Men are physically stronger and bigger than women and should not be allowed to participate in women's sports. Women's safety and security is vulnerable when men are allowed to share bathrooms and locker rooms, not to mention the intrusion on women's privacy. Women fought for decades to earn the right to participate in sports and deserve to be recognized and respected for their abilities as true biological women.

It is debatable that climate change is man-made. I agree that pollution is an environmental issue, but as far as it changing the climate is questionable. Government intrusion in our environment is futile at this point until more honest research and specific causation data is confirmed. It is not fiscally responsible to throw money at any supposed man-made environmental projects until the man-made problem has been definitively identified.

The most reliable energy source available to us at this time is oil, gas and nuclear. Wind and solar energy sources are limited and not reliable sources of energy when the wind is not blowing and the sun is not shining.

The states should be the sole arbiters of the social and religious policies within their state, provided they do not violate the US Constitution. Gun restrictions should be limited to those persons diagnosed with a mental illness who are a threat to themselves or to others, and persons with violent criminal backgrounds. The 2nd Amendment was written to protect our families and our homes against a tyrannical government and should not be infringed.
