QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Abortion is health care. A woman should be able to consult her doctor and make the decision that is best for her. These decisions are deeply personal and should be made on an individual basis.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Disagree

Planned Parenthood, for example, does not use any federal money to provide abortions. Planned Parenthood uses their Title X grants for pregnancy testing, cancer screenings, STI testing and treatment and other reproductive healthcare avenues.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Agree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

The minimum wage in Alabama is too low. Alabama need to set their own minimum wage and not default to the federal minimum. People cannot survive in today's economy on the $7.25 minimum wage.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

Yes

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

When their is a legitimate and non-discriminatory reason. Public health and safety takes priority, just as they do in all organizational settings.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Choose not to answer

It is the government's job to uphold both the business and customers rights.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

When being unvaccinated poses an unnecessary risk to public health and safety, such as during a widespread emergency that is killing millions, or when a thoroughly tested vaccine is proven effective at preventing deadly diseases.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Israel is not more important than stopping genocide or terrorism.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Neutral

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Disagree

Private schools are specialized institutions that receive funding from non-federal sources. Parents have the right to choose where their child goes to school, but they should not expect federal money to support an institution that is not bound by the same federal or state public school regulations.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Choose not to answer

This question is leading.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Agree

In most situations the parent should have the right to make decisions for their minor. There are exemptions.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is not a God-ordained institution for everyone. In the United States, people have the freedom to practice, or not practice, religion. Homosexuals deserve the right to marry and to access the same benefits afforded to all married couples

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Non-Denominational Christian

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Agree

There are not enough avenues for people to obtain photo identification. Identification at the polls is not inherently wrong, but can be weaponized increasing the cost of voting. Photo identification should be an option allowed, but not required. Voter fraud in Alabama is not tied to the photo identification. You can verify yourself with other documents.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Choose not to answer

I do not know enough about the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact and the implications of removing the Electoral College at the time of this survey.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes. There have been many acts of violence perpetrated by racial extremists. Racism —and the lack of knowledge or openness that fuels it—affects every aspect of life

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Agree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Choose not to answer

This is a double-barreled question.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

B & D

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Renewable Energy sources are the future. However, we need to become more technologically advanced and committed to the inevitable changes and challenges that will come with changing to a more climate acceptable solution.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The government's general purpose is to organize and manage a nation in a way that promotes public health, safety, stability, and order. Every nation has their own style of government, but a government is essential to avoid anarchy or a state of nature. A functioning government coordinates services, protects rights, and handles complex responsibilities so that individual citizens are not burdened with managing society on their own.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Liberal

I am Democratic, but have some philosophies that lean more Republican.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Disagree

I do not support cutting police funding, I would rather redirect from other sources. However, I do believe that not every situation requires police intervention. When community programs—like building housing for people experiencing homelessness—are adequately supported, crime in an area can decrease. In those cases, it may make sense to reallocate resources to ensure we’re meeting the community’s most essential needs. Our police officers should not lose their jobs due to redirecting funding.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Gun ownership should not be permitted for the mentally incapacitated, convicted felons, fugitives, unlawful users of controlled substances, or anyone deemed a risk due to past crimes, mental health issues, substance abuse, or violent behavior. Many preventable gun deaths occur when weapons are returned to repeat offenders or individuals in mental turmoil who were not temporarily restricted for safety. Gun ownership should not be allowed at the risk of harming oneself and others.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

No
