OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Georgia has led the way in codifying protections for the unborn. I am proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with those who are in the fight to safeguard the rights of the most vulnerable among us.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Agree

There is nothing more beautiful than the creation of a family. Thankfully, technical advances have expanded the opportunity to create new life and build a family for couples that otherwise never could have done so. Yet, like any advancement in technology, we must also ensure that we have laws on the books that institute commonsense safeguards to ensure that in the process of creating life we are not also simultaneously destroying a life.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I support the standard set by Georgia's LIFE Act: Upon the detection of a fetal heartbeat, the option to terminate a pregnancy should only occur in the most dire situations (rape, incest, and life of the mother).

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

I support current Federal law which prohibits taxpayer funding of abortion procedures - directly or indirectly.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

Absolutely. States like Georgia have passed commonsense protections for the unborn, and the federal government should not allow those protections to be undermined by the unrestricted flow of abortion-inducing drugs across state lines.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

The First Amendment exists to protect our God-given freedom of conscience. No American should be compelled by the government to act against their sincerely held religious or moral beliefs. As a small business owner myself, I know that the government's job is to protect liberty — not to coerce citizens into violating it.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The First Amendment was written to protect the church from the government — not to purge faith from public life. My faith informs my values, and those values will guide every decision I make in Congress.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C). America's foreign policy must be guided by a simple principle: we engage where American interests and American security are directly at stake. We are not the world's policeman, and the era of forever wars must come to an end. I will stand with President Trump in his commitment to negotiating from a position of strength — using every tool available to protect this nation without sending our sons and daughters into conflicts that have no clear mission and no end in sight.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The Chinese Communist Party is the most significant threat to American prosperity and national security. We must meet that threat with clear eyes and resolve.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

America's relationship with Israel is ironclad and non-negotiable. Israel is our most reliable ally in the most volatile region on earth and the only true democracy in the Middle East. I will always stand with Israel.

Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.

Strongly Agree

Islamic terrorism remains a clear and present threat to the United States. We must never allow political correctness to cloud our ability to identify, confront, and defeat those who seek to destroy our way of life.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C). Georgia has shown what's possible when you get the federal government out of the way and let states innovate. Our state has pursued commonsense Medicaid reforms that have expanded access, reduced waste, and protected taxpayers — all without a Washington mandate. Medicaid and Medicare serve important and vulnerable populations and should be preserved, but the federal government has no business crowding out the private sector or mandating one-size-fits-all healthcare solutions on the states.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Disagree

I support measures that improve efficiency and reduce costs in our healthcare system — but not at the expense of Americans' privacy. Creating another government database to track citizens' personal medical information is not a path that I would find myself able to support.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise and private property rights are the bedrock of American prosperity. Government's role is to create conditions where individuals and businesses can thrive — not to pick winners and losers or crowd out the private sector. Georgia's economy is proof that low taxes, smart regulation, and respect for property rights produce results.

People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.

Strongly Disagree

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

As mayor of Gainesville, I delivered a balanced budget with a surplus every single year. Washington has no such discipline. The national debt is a threat to our national security and our children's future. Congress must make the hard decisions to cut wasteful spending and live within its means.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1. Rein in out-of-control federal spending and reduce burdensome regulations 2. Eliminate duplicative and wasteful federal agencies and programs 3. Renew the Trump tax cuts and stop tax-and-spend policies that drain families and small businesses 4. End foreign aid to hostile or non-allied nations 5. Require zero-based budgeting in all federal departments

IMMIGRATION

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

A nation without borders is not a nation at all. Those who wish to come to the United States should do so through the legal process — respecting our laws, our sovereignty, and the millions who have immigrated the right way. I will stand with President Trump to secure our borders, end illegal immigration, and ensure that those who enter this country do so legally and with a commitment to American values.

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

Sanctuary cities are a direct assault on the rule of law. As a former mayor, I know firsthand the responsibilities our local government holds in protecting our neighborhoods — none of which includes obstructing federal immigration enforcement. Those who are in this country illegally should not be shielded from the consequences of breaking our laws. I support efforts to end sanctuary city policies and ensure that federal immigration law is enforced uniformly across this country.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Washington has no business dictating how our children are educated. The U.S. Department of Education is a bloated bureaucracy that has produced declining test scores and curricula that run contrary to the values of families in communities like ours. I believe parents, teachers, and local leaders — not federal bureaucrats — know what is best for our children.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

Foreign governments, particularly adversarial ones, have used financial influence to infiltrate American universities and shape curriculum in ways that undermine our values and national security. American education should answer to American parents and taxpayers — not foreign governments with competing interests.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

As a father, this is personal. No parent should ever have to worry that the internet is being used as a tool to prey on their child. The government has an absolute responsibility to pursue, prosecute, and put away those who seek to exploit our children online.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The Second Amendment is not negotiable. What we need is enforcement of existing law, not new restrictions that only burden responsible gun owners while doing nothing to stop criminals.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No, I have not.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No, I have not.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

I am a conservative who delivers results, not rhetoric. As mayor of Gainesville, I didn't just talk about fiscal responsibility — I balanced the budget and produced a surplus every single year. I didn't just talk about being pro-business — I helped make Gainesville the best small-performing city in the nation. I didn't just talk about backing the blue — I boosted funding for our police and first responders. In Congress, I will bring that same conservative work ethic to Washington.

VALUES

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Georgia took a bold stand by passing a commonsense prohibition on gender transition procedures for minors. No child has the maturity to make permanent, life-altering decisions about their body, and no doctor should be permitted to perform them.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Marriage was created by God, not government. It is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman that predates any government or legal institution. No court, no legislature, and no government body has the authority to redefine what God has ordained.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My Christian faith is the foundation of everything I do — as a husband, a father, and a public servant. I believe every human being is created in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Those beliefs don't stay at the church door. They inform how I lead, how I govern, and the values I will carry with me to Congress. I am committed to protecting religious liberty, defending the unborn, supporting families, and standing up for the communities and institutions that have always been the backbone of American life.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Georgia has led the nation in proving that secure elections and voter access are not mutually exclusive. Requiring a photo ID to vote is a commonsense safeguard that protects the integrity of every ballot cast. We require ID to board a plane, buy a firearm, and open a bank account. Protecting the right to vote demands no less.

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

Biological males have no place in women's sports or women's spaces. Full stop. Protecting women means protecting the spaces and opportunities that were hard-fought and hard-won for them.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

I support an all-of-the-above energy strategy — but nuclear must lead the way. It is the most reliable, clean, and efficient source available. Georgia is already proving it. We should build on that progress and cut the red tape holding nuclear back.
