QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Only to save the life of the mother. The circumstances of one's conception does not indicate one's worth.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
I believe the strength of a society can be gauged by how we treat our most vulnerable....pre-born infants and our elderly.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Agree
Adoption of embryos should be encouraged to prevent the destruction of created LIFE.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Agree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
There is no formal separation of church and state mentioned in our Constitution. Instead, the government cannot mandate a "state religion." All persons have the right to worship how they please, as long as that practice does not transgress a civil law (Example - abuse of another person, fires on public property, etc.) Many of our Founders believed in God, and based much of the Constitution and Bill of Rights on Judeo/Christian principles, but in no way coerced others to be "believers."
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
No one should be coerced to violate their moral conscience in their place of employment.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
America should always seek allies that share our values of freedom, democracy, and capitalism. In the Middle East, Israel is that country.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C - Medicare has been promised to our seniors and retirees. Medicaid needs reorganized because there is much waste in the system, but should remain available with some personal responsibility built into the program. I believe we currently see the medical system changing, with many discovering how "new" ideas such as direct primary care and private pay practices can save money and provide better access to care. Our current system is high cost and the young and healthy find the costs crushing.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Disagree
Privacy and freedom needs valued above any type of "progress."
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
An established minimum wage artificially caps growth for both businesses and employees. I believe that the free market almost always rewards good employees with higher wages than artificially set minimum wage laws.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1. Eliminate corruption, "back room deals," and the "good ol' boy" system. Encourage transparency, bringing as many issues as possible to the voters. 2. Review all programs to eliminate redundancy. Privatize programs whenever possible, ensuring a degree of oversight can be established. 3. Reasonable TERM LIMITS for House and Senate seats would ensure fresh ideas enter the political theater and will facilitate rule by the citizens, instead of a ruling class, like the American Founders imagined.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
Sanctuary cities that harbor ILLEGAL immigrants encourage crime and lawlessness. The safety of law abiding citizens should be the government's priority.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
Education is not "one size fits all." Decisions on how to best educate students are best made at the local level with input from parents and families.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Agree
Foreign funding of our places of higher learning opens the door to allowing them unfettered influence.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
Keep society safe, bring peace to victims, repay societal debt, deter others, and rehabilitate whenever possible.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Agree
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe the Second Amendment to the Constitution does not allow for restrictions on the right to bear arms. Exceptions to this right to gun ownership include those that have broken our laws, who have committed acts of violence, are consumed with mental illness, or other threats to public safety.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
I am a life-long, passionate and compassionate conservative and if elected, my votes will reflect that.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
Parents should always be able to make the decisions that affect the lives of their children.
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
I embrace the FACT that God created two genders, male and female. No transitions should be paid by taxpayers, ever. Adults can decide to mutilate their own bodies with their own money, but children are not capable of making decisions that have irreversible consequences.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Strongly Disagree
If anything, gambling should be scaled back. Too many families are suffering from this state sanctioned problem.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian and every decision I make as a legislator will be viewed through that lens. I am 100% pro-life. I believe that God created two genders, male and female. I try to do my best to treat others the way I would like to be treated.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Photo ID is easy, is required for nearly every other activity in our lives, and ensures that only those legally eligible to vote do.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
We should judge all people by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. Reparations are just another issue designed to divide.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
Identify as = pretending to be. Women and girls deserve safety in their sports, bathrooms, shelters. etc., without the presence of biological males.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Disagree
We should always be good stewards of our environment and be responsible with our natural resources so we can pass it on to future generations. However, I believe any climate change observed is naturally occurring and no action of man can change it.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
I believe there should always be a multi-pronged approach to power. The government should not be picking winners and losers. The market will always find the most efficient and cost effective option for the area.
