QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
These are deeply personal medical and spiritual decisions. I support reproductive freedom, including access to safe, legal abortion, because women, especially women of color and low income women, too often face barriers, lower standards of care, and inequitable treatment in our healthcare system. Elective abortion should be allowed when the person who is pregnant, together with their medical provider determines it is the best decision for their health, family, or future and prior to viability.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Disagree
Given modern healthcare practices the requirement that patients meet in-person with their medical providers is not only antiquated, but a barrier to access across all service areas. Further, I would want to qualify more clearly what "reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes" means.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
The decrease in teen pregnancies we've worked so hard for over the past two decades is directly attributable to an "all on the table" approach which includes full service health care providers providing care and information in all environments.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
I believe in dignity for those that are ending their life. Medical providers take an oath to do no harm. It is unclear how "aid in dying" laws mitigate that oath.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
government should not close houses of worship simply because of their beliefs or practices. The only circumstances where government has a role are when any organization, religious or not, is engaged in predatory practices or endangering public safety. Protecting both religious freedom and the wellbeing of our communities must go hand in hand.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
Individuals absolutely have the right to their personal moral and religious beliefs. In addition, when a business seeks the privileges and protections of operating in our pluralistic democracy, it must also uphold the laws and values of equal protection. Religious practice belongs in the personal and faith community sphere, while businesses serving the public must do so without discrimination. That protects everyone's moral and religious beliefs.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Every worker deserves a dignified wage that allows them to sustain an appropriate standard of living for the region. A number on paper means little if people can’t afford housing, childcare, or healthcare. Scripture says "Pay the worker their wages."
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
Yes
I don’t get caught up in the latest buzzwords. What matters is whether public dollars are invested responsibly: caring for our shared earth, protecting vulnerable neighbors, and ensuring good stewardship of the resources entrusted to government. Public investments should reflect our values and strengthen our communities, not undermine them.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
