QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Choose not to answer

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

Schools should support the student's safety, education, and continued access to learning, connect the student with appropriate school based supports, involve parents as required by law, and follow all applicable legal and district requirements. The school's role is to support the student, not make private medical decisions for the family.

ECONOMY

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Choose not to answer

Student loan policy is a federal higher education issue and outside the authority of a local school board trustee. I am running to govern Princeton ISD and believe voters deserve to know where I stand on issues this board can actually affect.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

Public education is a public responsibility and should be adequately funded from early childhood through higher education and workforce preparation. Funding should prioritize classrooms, qualified educators, special education, student safety, and strong academic programs. Public dollars should strengthen public schools and expand opportunity for every student, not be diverted away from them.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state means public schools should not establish or promote a particular religion, but they should never be hostile toward faith. Students have the right to voluntarily pray and express their beliefs. Schools should protect religious liberty while ensuring no student is pressured to participate in a religious practice.

IMMIGRATION

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

Public schools should focus on educating students and providing appropriate school-based health supports. Sensitive medical decisions belong between families and qualified healthcare providers, not outside advocacy organizations providing instruction or services in our schools.

Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

Students need clear expectations, consistent consequence, and appropriate supports. As an educator, I see firsthand that accountability and intervention must work together. Protecting the learning environment means supporting students with behavioral needs while also protecting every child's ability to learn.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Agree

Students should thoroughly learn our founding documents, Constitution, history, rights, and responsibilities of citizenship. We should teach students to appreciate our country while also developing the critical-thinking skills to understand its history honestly and participate responsibly in our democracy.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Disagree

Local and state leaders should have meaningful control over public education, but eliminating the Department of Education could jeopardize federal protections, funding, and accountability for students, particularly students with disabilities and those in underserved communities. Local control and federal safeguards can and should coexist.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

I support age appropriate, medically accurate instruction on human anatomy, reproduction, consent, abstinence, pregnancy, health outcomes, and contraceptive methods, with transparency for parents. Schools should not replace parents in sensitive conversations, and instruction should remain appropriate to the students' age and developmental level.

It is discriminatory for a school district to cause academically eligible students to forfeit participation in U.I.L. competition when the student opts for instruction outside of the public school system.

Neutral

I support fair opportunities for students, but I do not believe every difference in eligibility is discrimination. UIL participation involves school resources, accountability, eligibility standards, and district responsibilities. Any policy should be applied consistently and protect the integrity of public school programs.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, American History, Civics, Personal Finances, Vocational Learning, Information Technology, Physical Fitness, Art & Music, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning

Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.

Agree

Academic achievement should be a central priority of public schools. Schools should also help students develop responsibility, integrity, critical thinking, and an understanding of citizenship and self-government. Character education should prepare students to contribute positively to their communities while respecting the diverse families our public schools serve.

School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

Strongly Disagree

Public schools should improve through strong leadership, effective curriculum, accountability, and adequate investment, not by diverting public funds to private alternatives. "Competition" does not fix underfunding or inequity. Our responsibility is to strengthen the public schools that serve every child in the community.

VALUES

Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Choose not to answer

This question combines several separate issues, many of which fall outside the authority of a local school board. Trustees are responsible for following applicable state and federal law and governing district policy accordingly. I believe candidates should be evaluated on matters they would actually have the authority to govern.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am grounded in integrity, compassion, personal responsibility, service to others, and treating every person with dignity and respect. I believe public servants should lead with honesty, humility, and a commitment to doing what is right for the people they serve. As a school board trustee, I would respect families of all faiths and beliefs.

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Agree

Parents are essential partners in their child's education and health decisions. Schools should respect parental rights, communicate transparently, and involve families in decisions, while also following applicable laws and protecting every student's educational rights, safety, and access to services.

I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Choose not to answer

Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.

Choose not to answer

School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.

Disagree

Library value should be considered when evaluation materials, but no individual or group of experts should have authority to create a blanket exemption from the law. School libraries should follow applicable law, use transparent review processes, consider age appropriateness, and respect both intellectual freedom and parental concerns.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

Texas already has voter identification laws in place. I support following existing election law and ensuring eligible voters can comply with those requirements without unnecessary barriers.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

Choose not to answer

I will not use my personal voting history as a partisan litmus test for a nonpartisan school board race. I believe voters should evaluate me based on my record, qualifications, positions on public education, and how I will serve Princeton ISD.

What political party are you affiliated with?

No party affiliation

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to immigration and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Choose not to answer

As a teacher and a school board candidate, my focus is on keeping students and staff safe. Decision about armed personnel should follow Texas law, district safety protocols, law enforcement guidance, training standards, and local risk assessments. I do not think a broad ideological question captures the complexity of school safety.
