QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Neutral

As a school board candidate, I know this is a deeply personal issue, and people in our community hold different beliefs. My role isn’t to set laws on this matter but to ensure that every student in Princeton ISD has access to a safe, supportive, and high-quality education. I believe in respecting families' values, fostering compassion, and focusing on what unites us giving our kids the best opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

Schools should provide support and connect students in crisis with counseling and community resources, while involving families when possible. Our focus must be on ensuring the student’s well being and helping them continue their education with dignity and compassion.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to refer to students by pronouns which are misaligned with their gender at birth even if it would violate the teacher's moral and/or religious beliefs.

Neutral

I believe schools should be places where every student feels safe, respected, and able to learn. At the same time, I recognize that questions of pronouns and beliefs are deeply personal. My focus would be on fostering understanding, open communication, and practical solutions that put students’ well-being first while respecting teachers’ rights. We can approach these situations with compassion and common sense, not conflict.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

I believe in the values of free enterprise and private property, and as a school board member, my role is to ensure students gain the skills to thrive in our economic system through strong academics, career training, and financial literacy

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I believe government funding for public education is essential from Pre-K through college. Strong schools are the foundation of opportunity, and investing in them ensures every child, regardless of background, has the chance to succeed. Locally, that means making sure Princeton ISD has the resources to provide excellent teachers, safe classrooms, and programs that prepare students for college, careers, or trades.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Disagree

I don’t believe schools should be providers of abortion or gender-affirming services. The role of the school is to focus on education and to support students with counseling, guidance, and referrals to parents or appropriate community resources when sensitive issues arise. Families should remain at the center of these decisions.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

I agree, consistent and fair discipline is key to a safe, respectful, and orderly environment where students can focus on learning. Discipline should be firm but also supportive, helping students grow and succeed.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Choose not to answer

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Choose not to answer

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Disagree

Public schools are the backbone of our nation and the foundation of equal opportunity. No state or federal funds should ever be diverted to private schools. Instead, we must make our public schools so strong that parents see them as the best choice better than private schools by investing in teachers, classrooms, and programs that prepare every child for success.

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

Students should have equality of opportunities. Every child deserves access to the same high-quality education, resources, and support, so they can work toward their own goals and potential. Schools should focus on leveling the playing field so every student has the chance to succeed, while recognizing that outcomes will naturally vary.

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

(B) Opt-Out

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Neutral

School safety must always come first. I believe our focus should be on prevention, secure campuses, strong partnerships with law enforcement, and trained school resource officers. While some support allowing trained, licensed faculty to carry, my priority is making sure any decision is voted on by the board of trustees to keep students safe, is transparent with parents, and includes strict training and accountability.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.

Agree

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Parents should be the primary teachers of sexual education. Schools may provide limited, age-appropriate health education focused on safety and responsibility, but always with full transparency and parental involvement. Sensitive topics should be taught later, only when developmentally appropriate.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

• Abstinence • Consent and healthy relationships • Contraceptive methods and prevention of STIs • Human anatomy and the reproductive system • Physical and emotional health outcomes • Stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause infertility and a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Agree

Children have the right to be protected from hypersexualization (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Neutral

My faith teaches me the importance of loving your neighbor and treating everyone with dignity and respect. I believe strong families built on commitment, love, and responsibility are essential to a healthy and prosperous society.

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree
