QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Choose not to answer
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Did not answer
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Agree
Everyone has their own experiences and backgrounds, and the more diverse the better, but when it comes to mandated curriculum's, these were put in place for the students standards of learning.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Neutral
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
We have a fundamental responsibility in the overall education of the population. Generally the quality of life is greatly improved, when you have highly educated citizens. Public education is just that...Public. This absolutely has to be part of government funding.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Disagree
While these services are absolutely vital for some, I wouldn't invite them into the schools as a resource. There are other resources and information available through the counseling apartment, and the nurses office. These departments are essential in helping the student population.
Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
Consistency in discipline and fairness across the whole student population not only helps with maintaining a safe place for children to learn, it teaches consequences for ones own actions.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
I grew up in a military family, that was deeply rooted in morals, ethics, and a sense of pride for the American dream, and its ideals. The founding documents are the basis of our society, and should definitely be taught at every age and stage of development. This also comes into play when students grow into adults, so they will have a better understanding of their constitutional rights.
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Neutral
I support what DEI originally stood for, in making sure that no matter who you were, you were treated equally. Somewhere down the line, I feel, some have used the policies in a way that was not intended.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Disagree
States and Communities have always had control in regards to the students learning. The Department of Education helps with funding and supporting local and state education, which includes programs and policy. I'm concerned how many students and even teachers, are going to suffer without it.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
This one is going to be the hot question! Some things are just randomly thrown in here. I would like to attest to what I thought was important to me, as a student and now a parent. Mathematics and Language Arts! American History, Music and Art! Civics, Physical Fitness, Social Emotional Learning, Information Technology, Vocational Learning, Personal Finance, Foreign Languages.
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Disagree
As I previously stated, Public School is Public and should be funded as such. I believe Parents should definitely have the right to choose how their children are educated. If a parent chooses Private or Home-school, that is their own financial decision. However, if one chooses Home-school, then there should be supports in place and tax credits for the families.
Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?
I grew up on the belief that anyone can be anything, as long as you were willing to work for it. Equal Opportunity, sky's the limit.
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
Written confirmation of a student Opting In.
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Neutral
Anyone who is licensed to carry, and has had training, should be able to exercise that right. When it comes to being on school grounds, however, we have resource officers. My concern is a student somehow, getting a hold of the weapon, which is a scary thought.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.
Disagree
Schools should follow all CDC guidelines, for the safety of all students and staff.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
I voted in these primaries and general elections:
2016 General Election 2018 General Election 2020 General Election 2022 General Election
I can't say with confidence what other elections I've voted in, and I'd rather leave them blank, than risk a misstep. I do vote as often as I am able, and bring my children with me, so they can see democracy in action.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
As I am running for a position that is strictly Independent, that's what I am.
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
There is no right answer, as every family and child is different. Responsibility? Families should be in control of this, but teaching basic sexual health, should to be at least offered for "of age" students.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
Human Anatomy/Reproductive Systems, Pregnancy and Fetal Development, Contraceptive Methods and Diseases, Abstinence, Consent, Physical and Emotional Health Outcomes, Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity
Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.
Agree
Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.
Strongly Agree
Yes, children have a right to be protected from sexual grooming, and grooming of ANY kind. Drag Shows?? I don't think this is happening in schools, unless...is this loosely referring to stage plays?
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.
Disagree
Here is how I feel, and is my opinion: Marriage is a celebration of love, and commitment to another person. Two become one, and are bound to one another, and the happiness that comes from this, in turn, creates a prosperous society.
Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.
Agree
All parents should be involved in their children's education and welfare. I'm still for the bare minimum in vaccinations to attend public school, though.
Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.
Strongly Agree
If the parent has custody of the child, absolutely. Some processes seem tedious, but it is to protect the child's and the parents privacy.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
You need a photo ID. Period.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
