QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I also believe that it is unethical to sell human body parts that were procured from an abortion for the purpose of scientific research. I do believe the use (not sale) of stem cells from the placenta or umbilical cord is ethical for use in scientific research and any donation for this purpose should be approved by the parent(s) of the pregnancy that produced them.

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

If the student is a minor then parents should be contacted immediately if the student informs school personnel that she may be pregnant. If the student is 18 or older then the student should be encouraged to seek advice of a parent or guardian prior to a school employee from recommending a course of action involving medical treatment. At no time should a school employee transport a student minor away from school grounds during, before or after a school session to seek a medical procedure for the student related to any pregnancy without documentation approving such action from a parent or guardian.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Parents of minor students should have the option to opt-out of any curriculum that violates their moral and/or religious beliefs. Family Life Education (aka sex education) is one example of curriculum that can be opted-out of by the parent using a mobile app offered by a local public school system. The default setting should be to already be opted-out of FLE unless the parent logs in and changes the setting in the app to allow a specific student to participate in FLE.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

All citizens and legal residents should be able to engage in free enterprise with their country or nation. Private property rights should be protected by the law from any entity (government or private firm) that may infringe on those property rights.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

Only the local government should fund public education (Pre-K through 12th) in a community. Since a student can apply and be accepted to a post secondary school in any location or online then local public funds should not be automatically offered to fund the school. College loans and grants from state or federal government sources should be open to any race, sex or nationality of a student based on merit and financial need.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

Any provider that wishes to sell medical services or referrals should not be allowed in schools. Minor children can not consent to informed consent without parents in attendance during the instruction. Parents have the option of using this provider outside of school without impacting the rights of other students and parents that have a differing world view.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

All school discipline should be delivered to any student regardless of race, sex or nationality. No individual or group of students should be singled out for preferential treatment or targeted for out of the ordinary punishment.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

An evidenced based historical record should be presented to students and allow the student to decide if American History is flawed or justified. History should be based on facts and should not protect any race, sex or historical individual's nationality. Patriotism should be something that the student either feels once this person knows the facts or has the option not to feel once they know the facts. Opinions based on a false evidence has no place in schools.

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Strongly Disagree

I support diversity of opinion, however DEI has been used in the past to hire based on race, gender or other factors rather than merit. Schools should not discriminate based on race, sex, or country of origin. Discipline should not be influenced by DEI for students and/or school system employees. Schools are no place to settle historically perceived wrongs by one group against another.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Only 9% of the DoE's budget actually ended up being provided to K12 school systems around the country. I support the shutdown of the Federal Department of Education as long as only the most critical functions were transferred to other agencies. If the Federal Government seeks to improve schools in certain states then they should only give that money without mandate to state's DoE entities.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Language Arts, Mathematics, History (including American), Personal Finances (Income Tax Instructions), Information Technology, Physical Fitness, Vocational Learning, Science, Art and Music, Theatre, FLE (opt-out), Foreign Languages. Topics such as Critical Race Theory, Gender Identity, Social Emotional Learning (Teachers are not therapists) and Political Activism, are better addressed in a College setting than a K-12 public school.

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

All parents have the fundamental right to direct the learning of their children. If the public schools had to listen to parents and compete for tax money then the schools would improve. If private schools were subsidized (like other private companies) then quality would improve and students would benefit. Low income parents would be able to send their children to the school of their choice rather than being stuck in a failing public school.

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

There is no way for a school system to offer equity of outcomes without lowering standard for all students. If your goal is to increase graduation rates rates that could be as simple as making sure everyone passes. That is not a way to teach minors to be prepared for the world since unprepared students would still graduate. The better way is to offer all students support and the opportunity to graduate if they can meet an objective standard. Failing a test or a class should not be prevented.

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

(A) Opt-in. Sex is a complex topic that requires age and specific student appropriate materials.

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Strongly Agree

With ongoing re-certification just like police officers. Teachers, support staff and administrators are entrusted with the most vulnerable members of society, if they wish to protect their students then they should have the ability to do so. Schools are soft targets and an unarmed faculty, entrusted for hours each day with very helpless children are sitting ducks. School Resource Officers (Police) should know and trust every member of the faculty or staff that are armed.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.

Strongly Disagree

During the COVID19 pandemic, masks, school closures were highly politicized and caused real learning loss for many kids. All precautions should not be forced on parents or students such as masking. Natural immunity was rejected even if you showed the school that someone has already been diagnosed with a COVID19 infection and recovered. In future pandemics only facts should rule the day and each school should be empowered to mask or not to mask based on risk of infection from the population.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

Did not answer

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in God. All people of any religious belief should be able to direct the spirituality of their minor children. That means the school should not stand in opposition to children wearing religious symbols to school or discussing religious topics with other students. An open and honest dialogue about all belief-systems should be the goal, not just the beliefs of the school employees or administrators.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

With so many sources of information, parents should use materials that are age appropriate and don't violate their beliefs. Students will encounter other students with different beliefs making it unnecessary for curriculum proposing a limited world view from being the only option.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

I do not support sex education be taught in schools since it only promotes a single limited world-view.

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

There is no evidence that so called 'Puberty Blockers' or 'Gender Affirming Care' helps students with a gender identity disorder. Parents should be held accountable if they subject their children to this barbarism. The school system should have no role in forcing students to believe in a clearly biased and non-scientific understanding of biology. Students should learn that sex is based on chromosomes either XX or XY. Sound science should be utilized if an individual has a different set.

Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.

Strongly Agree

Drag shows have no place in public schools. If shows or explicit materials would get a private company sued for sexual harassment then it is not appropriate for any workplace, such as a school. If a parent wants to risk taking their son or daughter to a private event that is their options, forcing students to see this is not ethical or legal.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Strongly Disagree

I support marriage between a man and woman. If two consenting adults wish to form a civil union then who am I to stand in their way.

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

Parents have a legal obligation to provide for their children. If they do not provide food, shelter, and learning then the state has the obligation to remove that child from the parent(s). Due to this obligation parents and only parents should be entrusted to pick and choose what their child should learn and not to learn. Not all learning is beneficial to every child at a specific age.

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree

All school records should be available to legal parent(s) based on any and all custody arrangements. If a parent has lost custody due to a conviction of child or spousal abuse then student records should only go to the parent with full custody granted by the court.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Voting is something that requires identification of the voter. Without appropriate identification, elections would not be free and fair. Laws require that no one votes who is not a citizen, or votes more than once, or votes in the wrong district. What is the point of having elections if you can't trust who won?

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

If someone wants to identify as the opposite sex, let them, but don't allow them to take advantage of the situation. People can't change their biological sex, based on science. Someone with a gender identity disorder does not have the right to force others to accept their delusion by compelled speech (pronowns), or compelled sharing of what should be safe spaces and/or sports. Males have a genetic advantage in sports and it is unfair for a male to get wins and scholarships intended for female
