RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Never under any circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
These drugs should be illegal but while they are legal they need to be highly regulated.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Under no circumstances should abortion providers receive any government funding whether local, state, or federal.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
The ability to die quickly devolves into the duty to die. Aid in dying laws should be illegal at all times in all places.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
The free market is the basis of a productive society. We need to allow folks to innovate and create without government interference. The government also has no business picking winners and losers.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I oppose the minimum wage. We should not box people out of the free market by setting a minimum pay standard. Instead we should focus on cutting taxes and allowing people to make their maximum wage by keeping more of their hard earned money.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
If a company uses ESG that should be a criteria to not invest with them. This is a sign that they don't understand what actually makes a company valuable but that they are more interested in pleasing the thought police than doing what is right for their investors and customers.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
There is no circumstance under which the Government can close a church. If members of a church have been found conducting illegal activity then those members can be adjudicated (examples include but are not limited to child abuse and fraud). The reason government cannot close a church is the same reason it cannot tax a church. The government derives its power from God to promote virtue and punish vice and because of this the government has no authority to tax the church.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
No absolutely not. There must never be an expectation that an individual can be forced to use their creativity or to act in a manner that contradicts their moral or religious beliefs.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
This should be answered in two parts. Based on our current reality I would agree with answer C. However if we can get government out of the way and allow churches and local coops to form then we can get to answer D. Answer D is the desired goal with the private/non profit sector filling their right role and getting the government out of our healthcare.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Vaccines should not be forced under any circumstances. They can be suggested or incentivized but never forced.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
The CCP is the greatest enemy America faces and should be treated as such.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
America's relationship with Israel is crucial. Israel is the most stable democracy in the Middle East and has been a long time partner in the region. They often do the dirty work of American foreign policy and their intelligence sharing is next to none. We have a long term partner that is aligned with many of our policies and is poised to act as a regional hegemony for the foreseeable future. Therefore we need to maintain a strong relationship with Israel.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Finish the wall!
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
Education savings accounts are the best option for education. It keeps the government out of the funding picture and creates a free market system within our schools. Parents are placed back in the drivers seat with their child's education and it provides significant financial relief to homeschooling parents.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Absolutely. Ideas have consequences and bad ideas have victims. Our children are the most victimized segment of society today.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
I agree as long as those decisions don't prevent children from making decisions for themselves as adults. An example would be the use of puberty blockers. If a parent chooses that for their child then they have removed the future choice from their child as an adult to fully develop.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Under no circumstances should government funds of any kind be used to provide gender transition services.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Marriage cannot be redefined by a court or elected official. It is rightly understood historically as a union of man and woman for the purpose of procreation and the furtherance of society.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I hold to the three creeds (Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian). I believe Scripture is infallible, that God is Triune, and that the church has a responsibility to speak on matters of cultural significance. For society to flourish there are three institutions given by God: the Family, the Church, and Government. As long as those three exist and work within their specific spheres of influence society will flourish. As Abraham Kuyper reminded us "There is not one square inch of the whole of human existence of which Christ who is sovereign over all does not cry out mine."
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
A government issued photo ID is essential to maintaining secure elections. Elections need to make it hard to cheat and easy to vote.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
The electoral college provides balance within our country and prevents rule of the mob. We are a republic not a democracy and our elections should reflect that.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I do not believe that there is a level of racism currently in this country that is a threat to our domestic security. Racism as a vice is a threat to domestic security everywhere and should be rebuffed where it exists.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Absolutely not.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
Women and men are distinct persons and women should not be victimized or taken advantage of by men playing biological dress up.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
I agree with A and C. Our environment is a gift from God and should be protected but not at the cost of burdensome regulations and policies that cost regular Americans their livelihood and freedom.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear energy is the future. It is safe and highly productive. As technology increases costs will decrease and availability will increase.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To promote virtue and punish vice.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I think my previous responses speak for themselves.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Our police need higher pay and better training not defunding.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
I believe there should be a high bar for carrying in spaces like schools and courthouses but that they should be allowed as long as the individual takes the responsibility to complete serious training to ensure their competency with a firearm.
