QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I believe in a woman’s right to choose. Decisions about pregnancy should be made by the mother in consultation with her medical providers, not by the government. I support access to safe and legal abortion, up to the point of viability, with appropriate exceptions after that for the mother’s health or life.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Disagree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, provide needed reproductive services aside from abortions.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
In terminal cases, I would support a person's right to die with dignity on their own terms.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
Business owners should have the right to decide who they do business with, unless doing so involves blatant discrimination against a protected class. They should not be forced to provide services that go against their sincerely held moral or religious beliefs. We need to protect both individual freedoms and ensure fairness under the law.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
The government should not have the authority to close churches except in the most extreme, narrowly defined emergencies such as an immediate and serious threat to public safety. Even then, any action must be temporary and clearly justified, and never single out religious institutions.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
The United States should strengthen alliances and partnerships around the world to share intelligence, coordinate counterterrorism efforts, and promote stability in regions vulnerable to extremist influence. Through diplomacy and support for economic development, we can help address the root causes of terrorism and build lasting global security.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Agree
I support efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in the region that respects the rights and security of both Palestinians and Israelis. I believe in promoting human rights, ending occupation, and ensuring equality for all people. While I understand the goals of the BDS movement, I support dialogue and diplomatic solutions that encourage cooperation and peace rather than divisive measures.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with supplemental private healthcare options.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Mandates are only justified for serious public health risks and must allow exemptions for medical, religious, or personal beliefs. Public health is important, but personal freedom must also be respected.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Virginia’s tax code should support rural communities by encouraging investment in broadband, job creation, and agriculture. I support targeted tax relief for working families and small farms, and incentives for businesses that create good jobs in rural areas. We also need to make sure the wealthiest and large corporations pay their fair share so we can invest in infrastructure, education, and agricultural innovation that help rural Virginia grow.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
We should review outdated or duplicative programs and focus spending on what works. Smart investments in broadband, infrastructure, and workforce development. These investments create jobs, expand the tax base, and strengthen our economy.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Neutral
While I support expanding access to affordable higher education, I also believe we should put strong emphasis on trade schools and apprenticeships. These programs provide valuable career pathways and help meet workforce needs across Virginia.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
The United States should welcome immigrants who contribute to our society, economy, and communities, whether they come seeking safety from persecution, better opportunities, or to reunite with family. Immigration policies should be fair, humane, and secure, prioritizing those fleeing violence or hardship while maintaining strong borders and proper legal processes.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Neutral
I support strong public schools and the right of families to choose the best educational path for their children. However, I do not believe taxpayer funds, whether through vouchers or tax credits, should be used to subsidize private schools, charter schools or homeschooling. Public money should stay in public education.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Neutral
Qualified immunity is intended to protect police officers when performing their duties in good faith. However, it’s important to ensure this protection isn’t used to shield misconduct. I support carefully considered reforms that maintain officer protections while promoting accountability and public trust.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Agree
I support redirecting some funds from police departments to mental health and community programs, as many crimes are linked to untreated mental health issues. Investing in these services can reduce crime, improve public safety, and provide better support for those in crisis.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
To protect public safety, I support reasonable restrictions such as universal background checks, closing loopholes in private sales, and preventing access to firearms by those with a history of violence or severe mental illness. These measures help keep guns out of the wrong hands while respecting responsible ownership.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The general purpose of government is to protect the rights and freedoms of its citizens, provide essential services, ensure public safety, and promote opportunities for all to succeed. Government should work to create a fair and just society where everyone’s voice is heard and basic needs are met.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Did not answer
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am committed to uniting our District by bridging political divides and focusing on policies that protect and uplift all citizens, without regard to wealth, race, or political party. My campaign prioritizes fundamental human rights, social justice, strong mental health advocacy, education, affordable and sufficient housing and healthcare, the well-being of children, veterans and seniors, and the protection of both parental and reproductive rights. I will support all legislation that brings relief and support to our farmers and I will support all efforts to bring sustainable jobs to our district. By prioritizing common ground and practical solutions, we can build a future that respects both individual freedoms and collective responsibilities, which will unite our District.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Neutral
I believe in the separation of church and state as a core American principle that protects both religious freedom and democratic governance. While Judeo-Christian values have influenced our country’s moral traditions, our government must remain neutral on religion to ensure equal rights and freedoms for all, regardless of belief.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Disagree
I believe that when two consenting adults want to marry, they should have the legal right to do so, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. Marriage is a personal freedom, and the government should treat all couples equally under the law.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in treating others with dignity, compassion, and fairness. My values are rooted in respect for all people, a commitment to justice, and the belief that we all have a responsibility to improve our communities. I support the freedom of every individual to follow their own spiritual path.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I support strengthening voting access through automatic voter registration, expanded early voting, and same-day registration. I also support restoring voting rights to individuals who have completed their sentences. We should continue to oppose unnecessary barriers.
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Agree
I agree that systemic racism has played a role in shaping many of our institutions, and we must be honest about that history to move forward. Critical Race Theory is one academic framework used to examine how laws and systems have perpetuated inequality. Understanding these patterns can help us build a more just and inclusive society.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes, racism is a serious threat to domestic security. It drives hate crimes and violence that put communities at risk. Combating racism is essential to protecting all Americans and ensuring safety and unity across the country.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Disagree
I believe addressing the lasting impacts of racial injustice is important, but reparations based solely on race can be complex and divisive. Instead, I support policies that focus on expanding economic opportunity, improving education, and reducing disparities for all disadvantaged communities.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Neutral
I recognize that hydraulic fracking has helped meet our energy demands and supported jobs, but it also poses significant environmental risks. We need strong regulations to protect communities and the environment, while investing in clean, renewable energy to build a sustainable future.
