QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
For me personally, abortion should never be elective and I believe in an absolute right to life. However, I would agree that cases of rape or incest should definitely be considered in a different light. Sex was not an "opt in" activity in those cases but a crime committed.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
My first response is never. However, I would qualify that by saying if there was a "church" practicing human sacrifices, I would want the government to intercede. The COVID lockdowns proved the government cannot have this level of power.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
First and foremost, God will protect His children if it is His will. However, I believe the United States was divinely inspired and its existence is a testament to Judeo-Christian values and is one of the few "safe havens" on this planet. Israel is surrounded by enemies and there is no country better equipped to defend them than the US. Also, the Promised Land is also home to the birthplace of our Lord and Savior and would be turned to glass without the US.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
I am torn on this. I lean toward C because government doesn't do anything better than the free market except maybe grow bureaucracy (think nearly any government agency where administration eats up most of the benefits). Medicaid and Medicare could still be valuable if they were run similar to a charity where they are rated by how much of the actual dollars raised actually provide a benefit to the cause.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
The mRNA injection mandates have completely changed my views on required vaccinations. An individual (or parent) should have the choice of which vaccines they want administered. And giving infants vaccines against STDs should be criminal.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Minimum wage positions were never meant to be living wage. These jobs were generally made for starting careers, getting experience, and then moving on. They have also proven counterproductive because these jobs are disappearing with technology.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
ESG is a complete and total scam that too many companies have signed up for due to social pressures and not considered the consequences. It also places too much power into the hands of those who control the ESG scorecard.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None. The restrictions imposed only target the law-abiding and the law-abiding are generally the only ones who will comply. Criminals won't. So, the restrictions only tend to inhibit a legal gun owner's ability to defend himself from criminals or the government.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Government has certain monopolies afforded it. Much of it boils down to police power. We allow our government to maintain order (safety) by enforcing laws and punishing the offenders. With its taxing authority, the government should provide and maintain infrastructure (roads, airports, utilities, etc.) and provide for the common good without violating our God-given rights.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
The only exception to this would be if the parents are endangering their children.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was born and raised as a Catholic in Seattle. Catholic school, altar boy, the whole works. After losing the men in my life (father, both grandfathers) I ran away from faith for a good while. However, the birth of my daughter changed my life. I had zero doubt about the miracle witnessed and my wife and I actively sought a church. We found Timberlake Church and committed our lives to Christ there some 30 years ago. We remain a part of the Timberlake family. Other than raising our children up in faith, I have led small groups, taught Sunday school, been part of the safety team, and have gone on mission trips to Haiti and Bolivia. God is great!
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
The Founders were quite prescient in creating the Electoral College. Without it this country would be doomed to be governed by the same people who have destroyed every major city in the United States.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. The groups fomenting hate and division on the basis of racism (and DEI) are the true threat to domestic security and tranquility. They are doing all they can to divide under the guise of uniting. This is right out of the Communist Playbook.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
A) Nothing has been more detrimental to the economic might of the United States than the excessive laws and regulations. It has crippled logging, commercial fishing, mining, manufacturing all in the name of environmental protection but to the detriment of its citizenry and national security. One could surmise these policies drove industry to other countries which had little or no environmental protections in place.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
From a person residing in the Pacific Northwest, I would say that hydroelectric is the most reliable. However, overall, nuclear might be the only source that could be scaled enough to meet demand. No energy source should be excluded. Period.
