QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Abortion should not be birth control. Incest and life of mother are legitimate exceptions as they both carry health risks to mother and child. There is NO gestational age for the life of the child in utero in NJ. Moreover, abortion is codified law in NJ. As that will be very difficult to overturn without both houses and governor on board, interpretation of the law would be my goal, and to walk back it back as much as possible from the full 9 month term currently permissible in New Jersey.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

NJ quadrupled its budget for funding PP, as the gov proudly proclaimed. IF there is a budget line for such, it should be split evenly with pregnancy centers and adoption centers which aren't considered "family planning" in terms of receiving funds. I find this very concerning.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

I can't think of any -- except perhaps if under siege / war. I don't think churches and places of worship should be under the same guidelines as retail outlets, businesses, entertainment, etc.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

Private business owners receiving no government funding should not be required to provide services, unless they are engaging in something that is against the law, i.e. refusing to serve a person of color. But that would hardly be a moral or religious belief.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, as we have a deep history. But we should no longer be engaging in their wars or anyone else's war.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

I admit I would want to dig into this, but I'm inclined to go with C. Medicate and Medicaid would handle the vulnerable populations.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None. That EUA vaccines were mandated in public sectors is very concerning.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I think this is a decision per-state, as each state has a different economy, sometimes vastly different. I do not know yet what I would recommend for NJ. I don't think it should be a federal decision.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

Choose not to answer

Extremely vague question. Some environmental issues --- fluoride in water, or chemicals from nearby plants tainting the water, for example -- deserve public intervention. But I don't adhere to an ESG rating.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Careful background checks are needed

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

With knowledge and certification by the school district, and only for permanent (not substitute) teachers.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

Never

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

Never

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To serve the people, to "connect the dots" to find commonalities in state leadership. It is NOT to manage the people, which is inevitably a subset of the result, but not the goal.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Conservative

I am fiscally very conservative. I am otherwise conservative in my views most of the time. I have travelled the world, open to the benefit of the doubt and recognize that different cultures -- however strange they might appear at first glance -- often have a background or historic thread that leads them to think or act as they do.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

I have testified in Trenton on behalf of children, heard court arguments in Newark, and it is these issues that motivated me to run for office. "All roads lead to Trenton."

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Disagree

I suppose there could be exceptions of a fine medical/health nature, but these should never be for MINOR children.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am Catholic. In my life I have wandered, have visited other churches / places of worship, and at this later stage of my life have decided to remain Catholic.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Neutral

These needs more thought on my part. I believe the electoral and college was instituted for good reason and shouldn't be abandoned -- but am willing to hear argument.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is a problem throughout the world and is great evil to mankind. But I would not call it a threat to domestic security in the US.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

C. It has been a disaster in New Jersey, that both nuclear and natural gas plants were deactivated and all caution was thrown to the wind (correctly stated) with wind farms --- not one of them is operational. It was a rash move in and gambled taxpayer dollars.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

It seems that there is a place for wind farms, but nuclear and natural gas are the most practical. I see no reason to put all eggs into one basket.
