QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

It is not just a religious belief that life begins at conception, but a scientific fact. Without question these lives should be protected under the law as all life should be. It is well past time our laws reflect this reality.

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

These types of pregnancies can greatly impact the lives of those who are involved. While the school can certainly offer support and additional resources to those involved in these situations, the parents of these children should be the ones who ultimately guide their sons and daughters through them. Families are the best ones to provide love, care, and support to their children as needed. The school district should never seek to override a family or guardian in these matters unless there a legitimate reason to do so. Parental rights must always be respected.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Both free enterprise and private property rights are the backbone to a strong economy. When citizens are allowed to build and innovate without government interference, they create prosperity not only for themselves but for their community. Government intervention in the economy almost always tends to hurt economic growth and development. Ensuring the right of citizens to own property is essential to protecting and preserving the American dream.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

This funding is provided by taxpayers and appropriated through the government. I believe that parents should have the right to determine where their tax dollars go. School choice ensures that parental liberty is upheld and allows parents to educate their children as they best see fit.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Agree

The goal of public education is to provide students with the tools they need to succeed upon completion of their education. It is never the role of the educator in the public school system to promote his or her own beliefs or convictions to their students. Teachers are required to teach the curriculum in full. To allow them the ability to pick and choose based on their personal convictions undermines the rule of law and the right of the student's access to a full and complete education.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

Schools are meant to be places of education, not for the promotion of a certain political or social agenda. Anything that does not support the teaching of reading, writing, mathematics, history or other subjects in a non-biased manner is not appropriate for a public school. These are matters are for the healthcare field and NOT a school. Again, parental rights should always be first in these matters.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

In full agreement with this statement.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

America is a truly remarkable country with an amazing story. Why we allow teachers to tell their students elsewise is beyond my understanding. Educating students on the history of our nation is essential to a good education and raising good citizens.

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Strongly Disagree

DEI goes against the very meritocratic ideals of this country. We should focus on what unites us rather than what separates us.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Ever since the creation of the Federal Department of Education, our nation's children have not benefited in any way despite trillions of dollars being spent. State and local governments know how to best handle the needs of their students.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

American History, Art & Music, Civics, Foreign Language, Information Technology, Language Arts (reading/writing), Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Science, Vocational Learning.

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

I agree with this concept. However, I take issue with private schools avoiding the financial ramifications of choosing to not educate children with disabilities, which then leaves the higher costs that are needed to help these children to learn to the public schools.

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

Equality of opportunity. Every student should be given the same skills and resources to succeed. Equality of outcome forces all students to have the same result which again attacks the meritocratic ideals of this nation.

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

(B) Opt-Out.

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary: Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried: He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty: From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost: The holy Catholic Church; The Communion of Saints: The Forgiveness of sins: The Resurrection of the body: And the Life everlasting. Amen.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

It is the responsibility of the parents to educate their children about this topic. While children sometimes mature at different ages, I feel the most appropriate age to discuss these topics is around the ages of 12 to 14 or 7th to 8th grade.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Most of these topics should not be taught by a teacher in the school. The topics I find appropriate for classroom education are teaching human anatomy, the reproductive system, abstinence, consent, stages of pregnancy, and fetal development. Again, the parents should be the primary educators on these topics.

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Strongly Agree

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

As an election official, election integrity is something that I care greatly about. If you cannot prove who you are or that you are a legal citizen, you should not be allowed to participate in the process to choose who leads the country, state or the local community.

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

This is just a commonsense statement in which I am in full agreement with. It saddens me that we have to discuss this in our politics today, but I will always fight to ensure that girls feel safe and protected in our school district.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

2018 Republican Primary 2018 General Election 2020 Democratic Primary 2020 General Election 2022 Republican Primary 2022 General Election

Was not eligible to vote until the 2018 Primary. I consider voting one of my most important duties as a citizen. I briefly left the GOP but returned during my time in college.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

My political beliefs are greatly influenced by my faith and the teachings of my church. While I am open to listening to different perspectives and opinions, I would never support a policy that would violate my concise or go against the tenants of my faith. Policy making is never a one size fits all field, but if a policy is not rooted in proper morals, it is hard to believe that implementing or supporting such a policy would be truly beneficial to the community.

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Disagree

While I strongly support the right of all Americans to own firearms, I believe that in a school environment, armed and professional security guards are the only individuals who should have access to guns during the school day. It should be their responsibility to keep the schools safe and not an additional responsibility given to the teachers or staff.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.

Strongly Disagree

Schools of course should play a role in these matters, but a response to a pandemic is too complicated for just local governing bodies. The role of a school district in these situations is to provide full transparency, allow parents to make choices, and to balance the protection of public health and individual liberty.
