QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Rape, incest or when mother's life is at risk
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
To ensure the safety of the mother against unknown long-term effects of these drugs, particularly when abused, I am a proponent of additional oversight.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Taxpayers' money should not be used for abortions for any reason.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
These laws do not align with my views on natural death.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
A free-market economy is the foundation the United States and Virginia were built upon. Private ownership of businesses and property helps establish generational wealth and provides economic growth to local communities.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
A minimum wage is useful to ensure that people are not taken advantage of. We must strike a balance of a fair wage and a wage where goods remain affordable and where technology doesn't replace jobs because it becomes a more affordable solution.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
Yes
This is a broad question, but I believe ESG ratings should be considered within limits. We must balance the safety of our water, land and natural resources with the value of public investments to ensure economic and environmental growth.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
None
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Private businesses should not be required to provide services that do not align with their moral or religious beliefs.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C. I support limited expansion of Medicaid for those who meet income requirements and also advocate for tighter enforcement and monitoring of fraud and abuse. I believe that a work requirement for those who can, be required.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. Should be a choice between the individual, and their doctors. The exception could be to military personnel going into areas of known issues.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
The CCP is a serious threat as they continue to take our intellectual property, steal secrets, buy land throughout the US and purchase US businesses.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. They are our closest ally in the Middle East. They have exceptional defense technologies and make a significant contribution to our understanding and development of equipment based on real-time war usage.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
It is important to secure our borders and require legal entry to the US. There are legal avenues to entry and by securing illegal entry, we reduce gangs, human trafficking, drugs, terrorism. There should be a zero tolerance for those who enter illegally. If one wants to be a part of the United States, their first action should not be breaking our laws.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
Parents should have the right to choose the best source of education for their children. Government funding should be available to parents to support that decision. This would also create competition among schools, elevating the education of our children.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
A child should never have their childhood limited by the imposition of adult issues. Minor children should develop naturally without chemical and surgical mutilation.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
A parent has the best knowledge of their child's needs and interest in their wellbeing. Parents should be integrally involved in their child's development and education within constraints of the law.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Taxpayers should not bear the financial burden of gender transition services.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Agree
Churches should have the right to maintain what is core to their beliefs, to advocate for traditional values and should be able to do so without government condemnation or pressure. The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that a marriage between same gender couples is lawful. The lawful aspect should not require a change to the church's traditional beliefs.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I have been a practicing Catholic since baptism. While I have had my faith tried at times in my life, I have always maintained my belief in a higher power. Trusting in God provides comfort and guidance to me through life's challenges.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Identity verification is a basic requirement for a number of daily activities, including employment, air and international travel and many purchases. The idea that identification would not be required for an act as important as voting is beyond reasonable.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Disagree
The Electoral College ensures that rural and less populated areas have a voice in political elections. It is a well-designed model that ensures balanced representation across states.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism poses serious threats to society, but it is especially harmful when fueled by political agendas. Efforts to divide the country through media and political rhetoric have, in many cases, amplified racial tensions beyond what is experienced in everyday interactions among individuals.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
I do not support the principles of Critical Race Theory, as I believe they can be divisive and counterproductive to fostering unity and equal opportunity.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
I believe in maintaining fairness and safety in women’s sports and facilities. While I respect the rights of all individuals, I do not support allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports or access female-designated restrooms and locker rooms. I believe these policies should prioritize biological distinctions to ensure equity, protect privacy and women's safety.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
A and C
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Modern, nuclear power is a safe, clean, sustainable energy source to meet the growing demand for electricity.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
Twenty-five years ago, I was CEO of a company that lost its financing unexpectedly after 9/11, which impacted our government contracts and caused several pre-issued checks to be returned. Although I didn’t sign or issue them, I took full responsibility and personally covered all of them. Still, I was found guilty on two counts. Since then, my civil and gun rights have been fully restored. From the darkest times in our lives, we become stronger individuals and leaders.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The purpose of our government should be to protect the rights of its people and to defend our land and people against foreign and domestic enemies. The government has an obligation to protect our liberty and freedom. Not to restrict them. Insuring everyone has the ability to reach for their goals and dreams.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I believe in minimal Government and the freedom of the people. I believe in our responsibility to help those who cannot help themselves. I also believe in the proverb that if you give a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Disagree
I fully support law enforcement. We need strong law enforcement, but also greater investment in mental health services. Too often, police are diverted from core duties to handle situations better suited for trained mental health professionals.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
A well-trained, responsible gun owner can be a valuable asset to public safety. Unduly restricting Second Amendment rights may inadvertently empower those who do not follow the law.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
Yes, under appropriate circumstances that include proper, ongoing training, screening and willingness on the part of the teacher. A chaotic situation within the school would be stressful and would require appropriate training.
