QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Schools have counselors trained for situations like this. Any student in this situation needs to know that they will be presented all of their options without judgement. School counselors are connected to programs that can provide information and counseling beyond what the school can offer. Our job as a school is to come beside every student in need and support them however we can.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Teachers should be required to refer to students by pronouns which are misaligned with their gender at birth even if it would violate the teacher's moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
The majority of teachers in the state have compassion for students and will work with students to come up with a solution. No teacher should be FORCED to use incorrect gender identification.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
The Texas Constitution allows for the funding of public education for grades K-12. Current leadership has lost direction and is being influenced by special interest groups and wealthy donors. State money that is needed to in public schools cannot be sent to privately run schools. I am 100% against taking away any state funding of public education.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Neutral
Services is a far reaching word! If the services provided are not pushing moral agendas and provide needed health care for students, who are we to judge. These groups should not be given the right to share their moral beliefs in the process...just like a teacher should not use the classroom as a soap box to push their own moral beliefs.
Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?
Choose not to answer
I believe that parents should be aware of what is being taught to their children. I don't believe schools need a bunch of "moral watchdogs" reviewing everything that is said in a classroom.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Agree
Assuming you are talking about classes that actually teach those subjects! American history is a broad topic. There is nothing wrong with presenting history from different perspectives. BUT history should be based on facts, documentation, verbal accounts...not revised to push an agenda or support a political narrative,
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Disagree
I support diversity, I teach at the most diverse high school campus in the country. The diversity of cultures makes us unique. I believe in equity. I believe we all have the right to attain what we are capable of without being held back because of heritage. I believe in inclusion. No one should ever feel alienated or left out, As an educator, looking past differences to reach the person was what i have done for my career. I do not believe in the political DEI movement.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
The US DOE was a bad idea that has only gotten worse. Not only should control go back to the states, but let's go farther, it should go t the local districts who understand the needs of their population. I work in HEB. We are 7 miles from Southlake ISD, but we are worlds apart when it comes to the needs of the students. Education is not a one size fits all system. Only local districts know the specific needs of their students.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
What a silly question. How about this. We teach students how to treat other people. We teach them to respect authority. We provide a well rounded education including core subjects as well as fine arts and athletics. We help them discover what they are passionate about and direct them to chase that passion. It could include college or trade school or a gap year. But lets teach the entire child and work to give them personal success. Social agendas are not part of education.
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Disagree
School choice exists. No parent has ever been stopped from sending their student to public school, private school, homeschool, or charter school. The stat is responsible for funding public school. That money comes form the citizens of the state. If one dollar of state money goes to a privately run school, that school MUST follow ever regulation expected in other state funded school. That includes enrollment, testing, teacher certification, etc.
Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?
Wow, another interesting question. Neither. Students should be given every opportunity to succeed. Every student has different talents and that success may look a little different for every student in a school. My job, our job as educators, parents, citizens is to support and encourage students to reach their goals. They won't all make it. But we need to give them the chance. And if they fail we need to encourage them to fail boldly!
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
I don't think sex education is the responsibility of the school. That is a parent/home issue. "A"
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Neutral
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.

No
I voted in these primaries and general elections:
2014 General Election 2016 Republican Primary 2016 General Election 2018 General Election 2020 Republican Primary 2020 General Election 2022 General Election
I might be wrong on some of those, but not trying to hide anything. It has been a minute since some of those elections.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
I consider myself an "open eyed" Republican. I am intelligent enough to sort through the lies.
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian, saved by faith. I try to live a life in accordance with Jesus teachings. I am a failure, but I know that I have a savior that redeemed me and a God who forgives me. I was brought up to do what is right and to fight for what is right. Popular is not an issue and I am not trendy. I value honesty and sincerity. I am blessed to have a family that supports me.
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Parents and that is a parent decision.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
I don't support sex education. Human Anatomy and the reproductive system as well as stages of pregnancy should be included in every biology class. It does not have to be tied to sex when taught.
Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause infertility and a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.
Strongly Agree
Children have the right to be protected from hypersexualization (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.
Strongly Agree
Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.
Agree
But if they abuse that right legal action should be taken.
Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.
Strongly Agree
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
Photo ID is readily available and one of the only ways to truly identify a person. (Although I don't look like my DL picture much anymore!)
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports.
Strongly Agree
It is a shame that this is even a question.
Biological males should not be allowed to occupy women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, women's shelters, prisons, or sororities.
Strongly Agree
