QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

I believe life is valuable and should be protected, but I also recognize complex situations, such as cases of rape, incest, or when the mother’s life is at risk. While I support efforts to promote life, I believe policies should be compassionate and allow for ethical medical decisions. Supporting life also means ensuring access to healthcare, parental resources, and family support. I advocate for balanced, common-sense policies that respect both life and personal circumstances.

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

Schools should support students facing a crisis pregnancy by providing compassionate guidance while respecting parental rights and moral values. Their role is to connect students with resources like counseling, faith-based organizations, and pregnancy care centers that offer life-affirming options, including adoption and parenting support. Schools should encourage family involvement and promote personal responsibility while fostering a culture of abstinence and strong moral foundations. However, they should not facilitate or promote abortion. Instead, they should ensure students have access to holistic, pro-life support, including medical care, parenting education, and mentorship.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to refer to students by pronouns which are misaligned with their gender at birth even if it would violate the teacher's moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I support robust funding for public education from Pre-K through college to ensure all students have access to quality learning opportunities. However, I oppose school voucher programs in Texas that divert public funds to private institutions, as they can undermine public schools by reducing their funding and resources. Additionally, private schools receiving voucher funds often lack the same level of accountability and transparency required of public schools, which raises significant concerns.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?

Yes

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Disagree

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

• American History • Civics • Language Arts • Mathematics • Science • Personal Finances • Physical Fitness • Vocational Learning • Information Technology • Art & Music • Foreign Language

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

I believe in equality of opportunities, ensuring everyone has the same chance to succeed based on their efforts and abilities. Focusing on equity of outcomes often leads to enforced uniformity, undermining personal responsibility and merit. Providing equal opportunities respects individual freedoms and promotes a fair society where success is determined by one's choices and hard work.

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

I support an Opt-In policy, ensuring parents provide explicit consent before their child participate

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Strongly Agree

I strongly agree that trained, licensed faculty should be allowed to carry firearms at school to respond to active shooter situations. Gun-free zones make schools vulnerable, and having properly trained staff as a first line of defense can save lives. Law enforcement response times vary, and immediate action is crucial in an emergency. Faculty who voluntarily undergo extensive firearm training and safety protocols should be empowered to protect students and staff from potential threats.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.

Strongly Disagree

I strongly disagree that school districts should have the authority to mandate health precautions like masks or vaccines. Health decisions should be left to parents and individuals, not bureaucrats. While schools can provide guidance and recommendations, mandates infringe on personal freedoms, parental rights, and medical choice. Public health policies must balance safety with liberty, ensuring parents remain the primary decision-makers in their child’s health and well-being.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My spiritual beliefs are rooted in Christian values, emphasizing faith, family, and moral integrity. I believe in the sanctity of life, the importance of personal responsibility, and the guiding principles of Scripture in shaping ethical decision-making. My faith teaches love, compassion, and respect for all individuals while upholding truth and biblical principles. I value religious freedom, the role of faith in community, and the importance of instilling strong moral foundations in the next generation.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Parents are the primary educators of their children when it comes to sexual education. This responsibility is deeply personal and should be guided by family values, religious beliefs, and moral principles. Parents best understand their child’s maturity level and can provide this education in a way that aligns with their faith and family dynamics. Schools should not impose a one-size-fits-all curriculum that may contradict the values of families and faith communities. Instead, schools should focus on core academic subjects and provide factual, age-appropriate biological instruction if, and only if, parents choose to opt in. Parents are responsible for shaping their children’s understanding of relationships, morality, and personal responsibility. Teaching children about sex, relationships, and moral values should come from those who have their best interests at heart—their parents, faith leaders, and trusted mentors. Families hold diverse beliefs regarding sexuality and gender, and these topics are best discussed in a safe and trusted home environment rather than dictated by government-mandated education. In today’s culture, where children are exposed to more information than ever before, it is even more critical for parents to take an active role in educating their children about these topics. Parents should have the right to decide what, when, and how their children learn about sensitive issues related to human sexuality. When schools attempt to take over this role, they undermine parental rights and risk promoting messages that contradict family values. Public schools should focus on academic excellence and avoid stepping into areas that belong to families. However, if sexual education is provided, it should be limited to biological facts about human reproduction and taught in an age-appropriate manner, with parental consent required through an opt-in system rather than automatically enrolling students. Curriculum should be free from ideology, political activism, or subjective interpretations of gender and sexuality. Unfortunately, many sex education programs today promote controversial topics that conflict with the values of many families, including religious and traditional moral teachings. Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE), for example, has been criticized for introducing explicit content to young students and for undermining parental rights. Additionally, some programs push gender ideology that contradicts biological science and the beliefs of many families. Schools should not serve as a platform for social engineering but rather focus on providing a fact-based, neutral education that respects all viewpoints while allowing families to instill their moral and ethical beliefs in their children. The appropriate age for sexual education depends on the child’s maturity and should be determined by parents—not schools or government entities. Generally, discussions about human reproduction should occur when parents feel their child is ready, typically during pre-adolescence, but lessons on moral values, respect, and personal responsibility can begin much earlier within the family setting. Sexual education should never include content that sexualizes children, promotes early sexual activity, or undermines traditional family structures. The role of schools should be to support and inform families, not to replace them in guiding children through complex moral and personal issues. Parents—not the government, schools, or outside organizations—should always have the final say in their child’s education. Programs that bypass parental consent violate the fundamental rights of families and risk exposing children to inappropriate or controversial material without their parents’ knowledge.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

I support teaching only factual, age-appropriate biological instruction with full parental opt-in consent. Topics That Should Be Included (If Taught in Schools): Human anatomy and the reproductive system – Basic biological facts about human development. Stages of pregnancy and fetal development – Scientific facts about how life develops in the womb. Abstinence – The only 100% effective method to prevent pregnancy and STDs. Physical and emotional health outcomes – Factual discussion on the effects of sexual activity, including risks.

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause infertility and a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

Children have the right to be protected from hypersexualization (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Strongly Agree

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree
