QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Agree
Abortion should not be used as birth control.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
Abortion should not occur on the taxpayer’s dime.
ECONOMY
I support using taxpayer funds to lobby the state legislature and/or U.S. Congress.
Strongly Disagree
It is the responsibility of city government to provide subsidized housing at taxpayer expense.
Strongly Disagree
Property taxes should be abolished.
Agree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Government should not discriminate against individuals, organizations, or business owners who affirm marriage as between one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
It is not the government’s job to determine what happens on private property.
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Agree
IMMIGRATION
City officials should have the right to proclaim their city a sanctuary city for illegal aliens.
Disagree

Raised Catholic and married a Baptist; together we have very strong religious beliefs and values
Children have the right to be protected from sexually explicit materials in publicly funded libraries, including school libraries.

All filings by candidates for municipal office, including ballot application and campaign finance reports, should be available for public online access on the city website within 24 hours of filing deadline.

ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
NO
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
NO
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Protect Life, Individual Liberty and Property.
Candidates and officeholders should be required to disclose all business investments and real estate, whether in the city or in an area currently proposed for annexation.
Strongly Agree
My PFS was filed early, and I went into extensive detail.
Please list your business investments and/or real estate, whether within the city or in an area currently proposed for annexation.
I own my farm (two parcels along the Trinity River) and my husband has his property about a mile away also in District. My additional investments are in publicly traded companies through retirement accounts in mutual funds and pension systems.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to immigration and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Conservatarian

2014 General Election 2016 Republican Primary 2016 General Election 2018 Republican Primary 2018 General Election 2020 Republican Primary 2020 General Election 2022 Republican Primary 2022 General Election
2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024 Republican Primary 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024 General (November) 2013, 2015 General (Constitutional) 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2023 Local/Municipal 2015 Special Election
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Agree
Police have been forced into having to tackle mental health issues, distracting them from pursuing true public safety outcomes. Throwing money at police departments doesn’t necessarily lead to the desired outcome of public safety. Some community programs that tackle mental health issues are necessary to relieve the burden from Police Officers, so they fulfill their duty more effectively. Taxpayers’ money should be used transparently and sparingly.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Gun owners should be held liable for having control of their property at all times. There are liability insurance products that pool individual risk if they choose to acquire such a product. I am a proud and responsible gun owner.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Agree
LOCAL
I support annual financial audits of every city department by an independent, third party auditor.
Agree
As an advocate for transparency, I believe the strongest outcome is obtained by posting every expense payment online.
Please list up to three issues or projects that you think need the most attention.
#1 Promote Transparency and Accountability: I believe in open-door communication and honest governance so every resident feels heard and informed about decisions that affect our district. #2?Ensure Smart, Sensible Development:?We must attract much-needed amenities to our District while holding developers accountable for projects that respect our community’s character, preserve green space, and improve quality of life. ?#3 Public Safety & Quality City Services: Without better public safety (Police & Fire), there’s less possibility for high-quality economic development to make financial sense. With low-quality or outdated infrastructure, development can’t prosper. I intend to fight for District 5’s share of resources to improve residents’ quality of life, exploring ALL funding mechanisms; the taxpayer should not be on the hook for vanity projects.
