QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I fully support an absolute right to free public-funded healthcare for mothers, fathers, and children at every stage of life, including prenatal care.

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

There should be more counselors, therapists, and nurses in schools to ensure that students always have support for whatever they're struggling with.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

I oppose slavery and I don't believe that anyone should be forced to stay at a workplace if they are unwilling to do the job.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

I absolutely agree that the government should not be picking winners and losers in the economy. Public subsidy of private for-profit corporations should be ended.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

Public education as a public good which is necessary to give people the skills and knowledge necessary to have a fulfilling life and to be responsible members of the public. Everyone has this right, and we have a healthier society when the public education system is robust.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

I don't believe that abortions should be performed inside school buildings as that would be very unsafe and unsanitary.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

Of course, teaching students techniques of moderation and self-control is an essential aspect of education.

Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?

Yes

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

I fully support a thorough education in foundational American documents and figures such as the Combahee River Statement, Frederick Douglass, and Eugene Victor Debs.

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Agree

Sure, each of those things seems like a good idea. Why, is someone saying they're bad?

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

I don't trust any entity run by a wrestling CEO who's married to a rapist.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Language Arts, Information Technology, Gender Identity, Political Activism, Vocational Learning, Art & Music, Sexuality, American History, Mathematics, Critical Race Theory, Physical Fitness, Personal Finances, Civics, Foreign Language, Science, Social Emotional Learning

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

I believe parents should be able to choose any school in their assigned public district.

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

Students should absolutely have equality of opportunities, without question. That's why it's necessary to require all schools to spend the same amount per student regardless of parental wealth.

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

I don't believe La Crosse has any courses titled Comprehensive Sex Education.

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
