RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Agree
I believe ALL human life deserves protection, respect, and dignity. This includes ensuring access to quality healthcare, education, and resources to support well-being at all life stages. Our legal framework must also allow individuals to make informed healthcare decisions in consultation with their doctors and families. By addressing health inequities and social determinants, we can create a society that values life while respecting personal autonomy and diverse needs.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
I believe all individuals deserve access to quality healthcare, regardless of economic status. Clinics like Planned Parenthood provide essential services such as cancer screenings, prenatal care, contraception, and more. They also support women in cases of medically complex pregnancies, including those endangering a woman’s life or resulting from child assault. These comprehensive services are vital to public health and ensuring individuals can make informed healthcare decisions.
ECONOMY
I support using taxpayer funds to lobby the state legislature and/or U.S. Congress.
Disagree
I believe taxpayer funds should be used to directly serve the needs of the public, such as improving education, healthcare, infrastructure, and other essential services. While advocacy and lobbying are important in shaping policy, these activities should be funded by private organizations or individuals, not public dollars. Taxpayers should have confidence that their contributions are being used transparently and responsibly to benefit the community as a whole.
It is the responsibility of city government to provide subsidized housing at taxpayer expense.
Neutral
Housing is a fundamental need, and city governments play a key role in ensuring access to safe, affordable housing. While subsidized housing can address housing insecurity, it should be implemented responsibly, with collaboration between public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Policies must balance fiscal responsibility with equitable access to stable housing, ensuring solutions are sustainable and meet the diverse needs of the community.
Property taxes should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
Property taxes are a vital source of funding for essential public services such as schools, emergency services, infrastructure, and local government operations. While reforms to ensure fairness and efficiency are important, eliminating property taxes would jeopardize these critical services and shift the financial burden elsewhere. A balanced and equitable tax system is essential to maintaining strong, sustainable communities and meeting the needs of all residents.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Government should not discriminate against individuals, organizations, or business owners who affirm marriage as between one man and one woman.
Agree
I believe the government should protect individuals' rights to express their beliefs, including affirming marriage between one man and one woman. In the private sector, businesses and individuals should have the freedom to align with their values. However, in the public sector, it is essential that all individuals are treated with dignity and their rights respected. Policies should balance freedom of expression with equal protection and rights for everyone across both sectors.
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is a cornerstone of American democracy and should be protected to the highest degree. Individuals and organizations must have the right to freely practice their faith without fear of discrimination or persecution. It is essential that laws safeguard this fundamental right while balancing the rights of others. Upholding religious freedom ensures that diverse beliefs can coexist harmoniously, contributing to a society that respects personal convictions and freedoms.
IMMIGRATION
City officials should have the right to proclaim their city a sanctuary city for illegal aliens.
Neutral
The issue of sanctuary cities is complex and involves balancing public safety, community needs, and respect for the law. While it is important for cities to protect their residents and provide support to those in need, it is equally crucial to ensure that policies align with national and state laws. Cities should work collaboratively with federal and state authorities to address immigration issues while promoting inclusivity, safety, and fairness for all members of the community.
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a follower of Christ and seek to live by His example as written in the Bible. I strive to embody love, compassion, forgiveness, and service, aiming to be the best version of myself. This includes actively volunteering in my community, supporting those in need, and promoting kindness and understanding in all my interactions. I seek to show grace, practice integrity, and live with humility. I respect others' beliefs and encourage mutual respect while living my faith through daily actions and decisions.
Children have the right to be protected from sexually explicit materials in publicly funded libraries, including school libraries.
Strongly Agree
As a trustee on the Racine Public Library and a former educator, I believe that children have the right to be protected from sexually explicit materials in publicly funded libraries, including school libraries. It is essential to ensure that library resources are age-appropriate and support educational, developmental, and community values. At the same time, libraries should provide access to diverse materials that encourage learning, critical thinking, and respect for different perspectives.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Agree
I believe that voting is a fundamental right and an essential part of democratic participation. However, ensuring the integrity of elections is also crucial. Voter identification requirements can help prevent fraud and ensure that each vote is counted accurately. At the same time, it’s important to ensure that the process of obtaining identification is accessible to all eligible voters, particularly those who may face challenges, such as low-income individuals and marginalized communities.
All filings by candidates for municipal office, including ballot application and campaign finance reports, should be available for public online access on the city website within 24 hours of filing deadline.
Strongly Agree
I believe that transparency is essential in the democratic process, and making candidate filings, including ballot applications and campaign finance reports, publicly accessible within 24 hours fosters accountability. Public access to this information promotes informed voting and ensures that candidates are held to ethical standards. However, it is important that the process of sharing this information is secure, accurate, and does not disproportionately burden candidates or election officials.
Ballot measures which include bond issues should fully disclose both the potential tax rate increase and actual monetary increase for the average single family residence.
Strongly Agree
Transparency is essential for ballot measures, particularly those involving bond issues. Voters should be provided with clear, accessible information about both the potential tax rate increase and the monetary impact on the average single-family residence. This ensures that residents can make informed decisions, promoting trust and accountability in the electoral process and ensuring that the community understands the financial implications.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Neutral
I believe in fairness and inclusivity for all individuals, including those who are transgender. Sports and public spaces should be safe, welcoming, and respectful for everyone. It is important to create policies that respect both the rights of transgender individuals and the needs of women, including ensuring safety and equal opportunities in athletics and public spaces. Thoughtful, evidence-based solutions can help balance these considerations and promote fairness, respect, and dignity for all.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) instruction should be required for all city employees.
Agree
I believe that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training is essential for fostering a respectful, inclusive environment for all city employees. DEI instruction helps ensure that all individuals are treated with dignity and respect, promotes understanding of diverse perspectives, and strengthens communication and collaboration across teams. By requiring DEI training, we can create a workplace culture that reflects the values of fairness, respect, and equal opportunity for all.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Taxpayers should subsidize green initiatives such as electric vehicle charging stations.
Agree
I believe that investing in green initiatives, such as electric vehicle charging stations, is an important step toward a sustainable future. Taxpayer support can help accelerate the transition to cleaner energy, reduce emissions, and promote long-term environmental and economic benefits. However, it is crucial to ensure that these investments are made in a fiscally responsible manner, with a focus on maximizing the positive impact on the community and the environment while balancing costs.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The purpose of government is to protect and serve its citizens by ensuring public safety, justice, and economic stability. It should create and enforce laws that protect individual rights, foster equality, and provide access to essential services such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Additionally, government must address the needs of diverse communities, encourage civic engagement, and promote the overall health and prosperity of society.
Candidates and officeholders should be required to disclose all business investments and real estate, whether in the city or in an area currently proposed for annexation.
Strongly Agree
I believe that transparency is essential for public trust. Candidates and office holders should be required to disclose all business investments and real estate holdings, both in the city and in areas under consideration for annexation. This ensures accountability and helps prevent conflicts of interest, allowing voters to make informed decisions about the integrity and motivations of those in positions of power. Transparency strengthens democracy and public confidence.
Please list your business investments and/or real estate, whether within the city or in an area currently proposed for annexation.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to immigration and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
I align with a moderate perspective, believing in a balanced approach to addressing both social and economic issues. I support policies that promote individual rights, equality, and access to essential services, while also ensuring fiscal responsibility and practical solutions. CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Agree
I support public safety and believe that redirecting some funds from police departments to public programs such as mental health services, education, and housing can help address the root causes of crime. This shift, combined with a strong partnership between police departments and these programs, promotes proactive solutions. By working together, we can enhance safety, reduce crime, and build trust between law enforcement and the community.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
As a school board member, the safety of our children is a top priority. I believe common-sense restrictions on gun ownership, such as universal background checks, mandatory safety training, and restrictions on high-capacity magazines, are necessary to promote public safety. These measures can help prevent gun violence while respecting responsible gun ownership, ensuring a safer environment for all, particularly in schools and communities.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Agree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana, particularly as neighboring states have already legalized small amounts. This shift can help regulate and control the market, provide tax revenue, and reduce the burden on the criminal justice system. However, it's crucial that we implement safeguards to ensure the safety of our youth, including strong regulations on sales, advertising, and education about responsible use to protect young people from potential harm.
LOCAL
I support annual financial audits of every city department by an independent, third party auditor.
Strongly Agree
I agree with conducting annual financial audits of every city department by an independent third-party auditor, as it promotes transparency and accountability. These audits provide a clear and accurate picture of how taxpayer funds are being spent and ensure that city departments operate efficiently and responsibly. Regular independent reviews help build public trust and ensure that resources are used in the best interest of the community.
