QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Disagree

Planned Parenthood provides far more critical health services than just abortion. Restricting the use of tax dollars for abortion services is fine, but defunding other services at a time when more people are unable to access basic healthcare is cruel and unnecessary.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I don't see a definition for "elective abortion", so I will state that I believe Roe v Wade should be reinstated

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Neutral

I believe this statement is misleading and "legal protection" can mean many things that are not intended. It is too broad a statement.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Disagree

I believe this statement is incompatible with current IVF practices. The statement is too broad and can have very negative unintended consequences.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

In Georgia, the minimum wage has been left untouched for so long that it is effectively useless. I think we should look at improving pre-K access and childcare, so that more parents can return to the workforce.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

We should shut down Georgia Pathways and replace it with something with much, much less red tape and bureaucracy. We should focus on replacing outdated software systems and processes throughout state government, to help streamline those processes so they can be completed more efficiently. We should also look at state owned property and potentially sell much of it off, eliminating maintenance costs and creating opportunities for private enterprises to make better use of them.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". The supremacy cause of the US Constitution means this applies to states as well.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Neutral

This is overly broad. If it is a life saving medical service, then yes, the business should be required. If it is baking a cake, I couldn't care less.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B. I've been waiting my whole life for a "free market" solution that will ensure that everyone has access to healthcare they need, and I have not seen it yet.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Disagree

I don't believe a government database is necessary for this. Non-personally identifiable data is available from providers already for this kind of analysis.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, Israel is a democracy in the Middle East and that is important. That does not excuse or authorize some of their actions in recent years.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Neutral

Sanctuary cities are illegal in Georgia. I support upholding the law as it is written, with dignity and respect. I do not support the actions of the current administration in this area because I think they are heavy-handed, abusive, and counterproductive.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Disagree

I believe anyone who supports this statement has no idea what the Department of Education does.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Neutral

This is overly broad and will have unintended consequences. If this means we should block funding from the Chinese Communist Party for AI research, ok. If it means that the United Kingdom can't help fund student exchange programs, that is too restrictive. I represent part of the University of Georgia, and some programs are funded by organizations in other countries. This could have severely impactful negative consequences.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Agree

This is a very broad statement and can be interpreted many ways.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Disagree

Another overly broad statement. Gender dysmorphia is a recognized medical condition, and if parents decide to, for example, change their child's name or dress as a result of it, isn't that exactly what the last question implies they should have a right to do? Who decides what is a "fundamental right" for whom?

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is recognized by the state, has legal consequences, and is not based on religion for many couples.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Neutral

Only if it offers some clear benefit and is done with proper safeguards in place to provide access to help for those who will be harmed by it. This is not a major priority of mine and I did vote against mobile online sports betting last year, primarily because it did not make economic sense in the form it was proposed.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Likely agnostic. I was not raised in the church, but I am not anti-religious by any means. Everyone should be free to decide for themselves and be respected and treated with dignity regardless of their beliefs.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

I am fine with requiring photo IDs, but obtaining those IDs should be free and easy, otherwise it is an unconstitutional poll tax.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Neutral

I believe black people in this country have been mistreated for much of the country's existence, and the impact can very clearly be seen today. Anyone who denies that is ignoring history, whether purposely or not. Reparations are likely justified, but I am not sure what form that would take. Most likely in the form of increased investment in HBCUs

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Neutral

I believe the way this statement is phrased displays a profound misunderstanding of trans issues and trans people.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Agree

100% true.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Solar energy. In 2025, Texas generated more energy from solar power than from coal.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The primary goal of the criminal justice system should be to protect the public while administering justice fairly. That means holding people accountable with consequences proportionate to their conduct, safeguarding due process, supporting victims, and providing restitution where possible.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Agree

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

No religious law should be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States. The 1st amendment requires this.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

As a firearm owner, I believe universal background checks, safe storage laws, and red flag laws (if done in a way to guarantee due process rights) should be implemented. None of those infringe on a law-abiding citizen's 2nd amendment rights and can reduce access to guns for criminals and those with mental health issues. "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" is true. We should do more to keep guns out of the hands of people who kill people.
