QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Did not answer
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
I support low taxes and the right for individuals to have private property. Ronald Reagan once said, "We the People tell the government what to do; it doesn't tell us. We the People are the driver; the government is the car." I find this to be quite important in today's society -- that we the people should be able to have civil conversations about where our government is going - to agree and disagree - but arrive at the beautiful destination at the end.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Government funding of public education is important. Our public schools are often underfunded, and with inflation being what it has been the last several years, increases in funding just have not kept up. Teacher pay has not increased at the same rate as inflation, and if our schools face funding issues, how can we attract and retain quality talent? I know what it's like to leave the teaching profession I loved because of real-world costs, which lately has hit many folks especially hard.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Teachers should be required to refer to students by pronouns which are misaligned with their gender at birth even if it would violate the teacher's moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
This question should focus on the 'why' behind these items. Kids are exposed to far too many things in this day and age on the internet and in various forms. We should focus on teachers communicating with parents when items are out of the ordinary or things have changed in a child's daily actions. Sometimes these are warning signs of a larger issue happening at home or elsewhere. Growing up today is hard enough. We should protect our kids and let kids be kids.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Disagree
Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
Discipline is the foundation of learning.
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?
Yes
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Neutral
I support equality and the opportunity for all children to learn. As a former educator, each child should feel supported, safe, and be in an environment focused on learning. I remember the 'no child left behind' belief that our country agreed upon not too long ago -- which focused on every kid's heart and educating them.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Neutral
Unfortunately, school board members don't get a vote of whether or not this happens. It's passed by the Texas Legislature.
Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?
I believe in an America where people who work hard and try to achieve their goals and dreams have that opportunity. Our founding fathers used the words "pursuit of happiness" as it's a pursuit of that happiness - it's not guaranteed, but the ability to pursue happiness -- is. So often we forget that it's okay to try and fail, but what makes the difference is getting back up, dusting yourself off, and trying again. That is how winning is done, and that is how our country was built.
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
A or B. It's interesting some states have both opt-in and an opt-out policy depending on the topic.
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a christian
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Parents, and appropriate age depends on the child.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause infertility and a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.
Strongly Agree
Children have the right to be protected from hypersexualization (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.
Strongly Agree
Much like I would not want a scantily clad woman reading to my son or daughter, I would not want a drag queen reading to my son or daughter. I prefer to have the knowledge in the books to be the focus and to be focused on education. Ideally, a 90-year old grandmother who wears coke-bottle glasses and is a librarian reading to my children is the ideal scenario in my mind. The focus should be on education and developing the heart and knowledge of the child.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.
Agree
Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.
Strongly Agree
Raising a child belongs in the home. Educating a child is the responsibility of the school and parent. As a former educator, my role was to teach and not to overstep and raise. Parents and teachers should communicate and collaborate on what is the best learning environment for each child. Focus on the child's heart, and keep each child's best interests in mind -- by talking and communicating with one another. As a parent, I want to know when things are happening at school.
Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.
Strongly Agree
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.

EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports.
Strongly Agree
Biological males should not be allowed to occupy women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, women's shelters, prisons, or sororities.
Strongly Agree
