QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I believe elective abortion should be allowed only in rare and exceptional circumstances, such as when the life of the mother is at serious risk. Every life is precious, and the focus should be on protecting the unborn while also considering the health and safety of the mother. Abortion should not be used as a form of birth control, and the decision to terminate a pregnancy should be approached with the utmost seriousness and respect for life.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

I strongly agree that chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards, including in-person consultation with a medical doctor. It’s crucial to ensure these drugs are used safely and responsibly. Additionally, requiring reporting on reactions and outcomes is necessary to gather evidence and protect the health and well-being of patients. The priority should always be on ensuring safety and accountability in medical practices.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I strongly agree that abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments, including Title X grants. Taxpayer dollars should not be used to support organizations that perform or promote abortion. Public funds should be directed toward services that support life and provide comprehensive healthcare without compromising the values of taxpayers who oppose abortion.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

I strongly disagree with 'aid in dying' laws that legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia. Every life has inherent value, and legalizing these practices undermines the sanctity of life. We should focus on providing compassionate care and support for those facing terminal illness or severe pain, rather than offering assisted suicide as a solution. It's essential to protect vulnerable individuals and ensure that life is respected and preserved to the fullest extent possible.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

I strongly agree that free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system. These principles drive innovation, encourage hard work, and allow individuals to reap the rewards of their efforts. Protecting private property rights and fostering a free market economy are key to ensuring economic growth, prosperity, and opportunity for all. They are the foundation of a strong and vibrant economy.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I believe the minimum wage should be set at the local level, not by the federal government. Local economies differ, and a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work. Communities need the flexibility to set wage policies that fit their economies.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

I believe ESG ratings should not be used as criteria for investing public monies. Investment decisions should prioritize the best interests of taxpayers, without being driven by political or social agendas. However, this doesn't mean disregarding environmental responsibility—investments should be managed with a balanced approach that ensures both financial stewardship and responsible treatment of the environment.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Under no circumstances should the government have the authority to close churches. Religious freedom is a fundamental right, and the government should not interfere with individuals' ability to gather and worship. Protecting this freedom is essential to maintaining the principles of liberty and faith that are foundational to our nation.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

I strongly disagree that individuals and businesses should be required to provide services that violate their moral or religious beliefs. Religious freedom and the right to act according to one's conscience are fundamental rights. Forcing individuals or businesses to act against their beliefs undermines these core principles and erodes the foundation of personal liberty and religious freedom that our nation was built upon.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Option C most closely matches my view on healthcare. I believe Medicaid and Medicare should remain available to support those who need them, particularly our seniors and vulnerable populations. However, I do not support expanding taxpayer-funded healthcare programs beyond these existing options. The focus should be on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and expanding access through private healthcare options while maintaining the safety net that Medicare and Medicaid provide.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Vaccination decisions should be left to individuals and parents, not mandated by the government, schools, or employers. While public health is important, personal freedom and choice must be respected.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

I strongly agree that the Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States. Their aggressive actions undermine our national security, steal intellectual property, and seek to expand their influence at the expense of our global standing. It is crucial that we remain vigilant and take strong measures to protect our national interests and counter these threats effectively.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Now more than ever, the United States' relationship with Israel is critically important. Israel is a key ally in a volatile region, and our partnership is vital for promoting stability, security, and shared democratic values in the Middle East. Israel's intelligence and military capabilities are essential in countering terrorism and other threats, and our close relationship also strengthens economic and technological cooperation.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

I strongly agree that the U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border. Ensuring our border is secure is essential for maintaining national security, enforcing immigration laws, and protecting our communities from illegal activities like drug trafficking and human smuggling. A strong, secure border is a fundamental part of a sovereign nation, and we must take the necessary steps to enforce our laws and protect our country’s integrity.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Neutral

I’m neutral on this issue because, while I believe parents should control their child's education, I’m concerned about public tax dollars going to private institutions that don’t face the same accreditation and auditing as public schools. This creates an uneven playing field that can harm public education. As a public school graduate, I strongly support continuing to fund and strengthen public schools while ensuring fairness in educational funding.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

I strongly agree that children, as the most vulnerable members of society, must be protected from all forms of abuse, including harmful gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation. Children are not equipped to make life-altering decisions about their bodies, and it’s our responsibility as a society to safeguard their well-being. We must ensure that children are raised in environments that promote their physical, mental, and emotional health, free from ideologies or practices.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

I strongly agree that parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children. However, I firmly oppose gender transition procedures for children, as these life-altering decisions should not be made during childhood. It’s essential to protect parental rights in areas like upbringing, education, and healthcare, while ensuring children are safeguarded from irreversible actions at a young age.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

I strongly disagree with using taxpayer funds to provide gender transition services. Taxpayer dollars should support essential public services that benefit everyone, like education and infrastructure, not specific ideological choices. Individuals should have the freedom to make personal decisions, but it’s not the responsibility of taxpayers to fund these procedures. Public funds should be used for services that benefit society as a whole.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Choose not to answer

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe we are all created in the image of God, and Jesus Christ came to earth and died for each one of us because we are all sinners. My faith is the foundation of my values, guiding me to live with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to serving others. I strive to reflect Christ’s love in my actions, advocating for policies that honor the dignity of every person. The recognition of God’s authority has been essential to the development of justice, liberty, and the rights we hold dear. My spiritual beliefs shape my dedication to upholding these values, ensuring that our nation remains strong and grounded in the truth that comes from God.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I believe that requiring photo identification to vote is essential for maintaining the integrity of our elections. Voter ID laws help prevent fraud and ensure that every vote cast is legitimate. Just as we need ID for everyday activities like buying certain products or boarding a plane, it’s reasonable to require ID to participate in one of our most important civic duties—voting. Ensuring that only eligible voters can cast ballots protects the fairness and credibility of our electoral process.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College is a crucial part of our federal system, ensuring that all states, including smaller and less populated ones, have a voice in presidential elections. The Compact would undermine this balance by making the Electoral College irrelevant, effectively allowing large population centers to dominate election outcomes. The Electoral College preserves the principles of federalism and ensures that every state matters in our democratic process.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism, in any form, is unacceptable and should be condemned. However, I do not believe it is a widespread threat to domestic security in the United States. Our nation has made significant progress in addressing racial issues; we should focus on promoting unity, personal responsibility, and equal opportunity for all. Dividing Americans by race only weakens us; we should work together to strengthen our communities and uphold the values of equality and justice for ever

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

I disagree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) because it promotes division by focusing on race rather than unity. CRT misrepresents American values by claiming our institutions are inherently racist, which undermines the progress we've made toward equality. I believe in promoting individual responsibility, merit, and equal opportunity for all, rather than adopting divisive ideologies. We should work together to create a society where everyone is judged by their character, not race.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

I strongly agree that biological males should not participate in women's sports or occupy spaces like bathrooms, locker rooms, or shelters designated for biological women. This is about fairness, safety, and respecting women's rights. Allowing biological males into these spaces compromises competitive integrity and can create safety concerns. It's crucial to preserve these boundaries to ensure women are not disadvantaged or placed at risk.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

Option A and Option C come closest to my view. Stricter environmental laws and regulations can cost too many jobs, hurt the economy, and undermine U.S. energy independence. They often deter the development of reliable electricity sources. However, I want to be clear that I do not support any legislation that would harm people’s health or devastate the environment. It’s about finding a balanced approach that protects both our economy and our environment responsibly.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

The most reliable energy source to meet growing electricity demand is oil and natural gas found in U.S. soil. These resources ensure energy independence, create jobs, and support our economy.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The general purpose of government, as intended by the Founding Fathers, is to protect individual liberties, uphold the rule of law, and ensure the security of its citizens. Government should be limited in scope, serving primarily to protect the rights enshrined in the Constitution, such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It should provide a framework for justice, defend the nation, and allow individuals the freedom to pursue their own paths without undue interference.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Overall, I would describe myself as a conservative. I believe in limited government, personal responsibility, and free markets. I support a strong national defense, the protection of religious liberty, and policies that uphold the Constitution. My views are rooted in the principles of individual freedom, respect for life, and the preservation of the values that have made our country strong.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

I strongly disagree with redirecting funds from police departments to community programs. A well-funded and well-trained police force is essential for maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety, and protecting our communities. While community programs are important, they should not come at the expense of law enforcement. We need to support our police, not weaken them, to ensure that our neighborhoods remain safe and secure.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I believe that the focus should be on enforcing existing laws rather than creating new restrictions on gun ownership. Law-abiding citizens have a constitutional right to bear arms, and this right should not be infringed. Public safety can be better ensured by targeting criminals who misuse firearms, improving background checks to prevent access by those who are a danger to themselves or others, and promoting responsible gun ownership through education and training.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Choose not to answer

While I understand the intent of allowing teachers to carry guns at school, I believe it's better to have trained police officers or security guards stationed at schools as part of their regular shift rotation. This approach ensures security is managed by professionals, allowing teachers to focus on educating our children. Protecting our schools is crucial, but it should be done in a way that maintains a safe and focused learning environment.
