QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Many politicians call themselves "pro-choice" but do not believe in the right of individuals to choose whether or not they want to fund Planned Parenthood. The government should not be funding controversial organizations like Planned Parenthood. Limitations saying that funding cannot be used for abortions are not enough, because money if fungible. If the state gives money for operating expenses, then the money Planned Parenthood originally allocated to operations can be used for abortion.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

Medical licensing bodies should be privatized, but as long as they exist, drugs designed to kill fetuses should meet the highest safety standards so they don't also cause damage to the mother.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

All elective abortion is immoral, and most ought to be illegal. An argument could be made that in the case of rape, abortion should be legal, as the mother did not consent to the act that resulted in pregnancy. In such a case, having the baby is the morally justifiable action, even if it is legal. (This would be similar to a starving person asking for food. It ought to be legal to deny him, even though denying a starving person food is immoral.)

Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?

Abortion is murder. Murder is handled by the states. Therefore, abortion should be handled by the states. A national standard would be more likely to fall on the side allowing for mass abortion than for preventing it. It would be better to have the states decide, so babies can be protected in some states, rather than unprotected in all states.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

"Separation of church and state," a phrase that does not appear in the Constitution, but was first used by Thomas Jefferson, meant that the federal government could not interfere with religious practices. The federal government cannot ban people from attending church services during COVID (or encourage states to do the same.) They cannot ban individuals from spending education funds on religious schools. They cannot ban people from praying at work. We have the right to worship how we choose.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

The freedom of association is one of the most fundamental freedoms we have. People should be free to associate or disassociate with whomever and for whatever reason they desire. This is especially true for religious reasons, which are enshrined in the Constitution.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

Both C and D, noting that if a conflict is truly foreign, it does not pose an imminent danger.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Disagree

The Chinese economy relies on America to stay afloat. They are not a threat. They depend on our prosperity. However, they recognize that America is a threat to world peace, and therefore they do engage in tests of defensive capabilities. America should work towards peaceful relations with the entire world, including China.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

There is much voluntary trade that happens between America and Israel, and for that reason, our relationship is important. However, this trade does not require sending welfare payments to Israeli military bureaucrats. We could be friends, without bankrupting ourselves borrowing money from future generations to prop up foreign leaders.

What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?

Young people do not want to fight in wars of choice for corporate interests.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Government agencies should never make private medical decisions for their employees or clients. Private organizations can require vaccinations. That is up to them, under their freedom of association. But we can't choose to disassociate with the govt.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Option D is very close to my view. I would not pull off this band-aid immediately, though. I would work for a gradual end to these unconstitutional policies.

ECONOMY

What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?

Any non-consensual transfer of wealth from one person to another is theft. Therefore, most forms of taxation involve theft. I would work to eliminate as much theft as I could. I would eliminate or lower as many taxes as possible.

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Agree

The government does unfairly entice young people to take on loans, making many of them debt slaves for life. However, taxpayers should not foot the bill when young people become unable to pay. The banks that make predatory loans to young people should suffer the burdens of defaults, just as they do with other types of loans, and student loans should be subject to bankruptcy laws, as are other loans. This would discourage predatory lending in the first place.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

The best investments the government can make is returning money back to the taxpayers, allowing them to choose where to spend it. Collectively, Americans would invest more wisely than the state would. When that’s not possible, government investments should be based on profitability of firms alone.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Agree

America should make it easier for people to immigrate LEGALLY. They should remove barriers in place that encourage people to choose to immigrate illegally. The only barriers to legal immigration should be a simple criminal background check and a pledge to not accept any welfare payments, including use of government schools.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anybody who passes a simple criminal background check and pledges to not accept any welfare payments, including government schooling, should be allowed to immigrate. This would encourage those who trust in their own abilities to be productive members of society to come and make America more prosperous, and discourage free-riders and criminals from immigrating.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

Ideally, all schools should be private. However, over a century of government schooling has curtailed robust private educational infrastructure development. A transitional phase of vouchers, tax credits, and charter schools will help lead to a future of affordable private schooling and home schooling options for all families.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

The Department of Education is an unconstitutional monstrosity that has harmed American educational outcomes. It should never have been created. Even the teachers' union, the American Federation of Teachers, opposed its establishment, correctly recognizing that it would lead to control of education by Washington bureaucrats, rather than classroom teachers.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Neutral

I support redirecting funds from police departments to taxpayers. If taxpayers want to invest those funds in security, then they can. If they want to invest them in community programs, including churches, then they can. If they want to do a combination of both, or neither, they can.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. Historically, governments who disarm their citizens are far more of a threat to public safety than a well-armed citizenry.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.

Strongly Disagree

The Supreme Court should be the most non-politicized branch of the federal government. Court packing would make it yet another political arm.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Politically, I am a libertarian. Culturally, I am a conservative. As a political libertarian, I do not think the government should be used to force my culture on others, nor do I think the government should be used to force progressive cultural ideas on me.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Civil government exists to prevent violations of the non-aggression principle, or NAP. The NAP states that man should not initiate acts of aggression against people or their property. Therefore, the civil government should prevent assault, murder, and theft. When the government, through taxation, legislation, and war, initiates acts of aggression, it is no longer a civil government, but a criminal government.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

VALUES

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

The govt should never have been in the marriage business. I trust the government to define marriage as much as I trust them to define Communion or Sanctification. A secular government should not define religious terms. As stated in the opening statement, marriage is a God-ordained union. It is a religious, not government, covenant. When conservatives first authorized the government to define marriage at all, they opened the door for evil influences in the govt to redefine it.

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Agree

Children ought to be protected from physical harm, including bodily mutilation, both from surgery and puberty blockers. However, authorizing the government to protect children from an ideology, even an ideology I disagree with, sets a dangerous precedent. Gender theory is a false religion. As a religion, it should not be practiced in public schools. But we cannot shield kids from religious beliefs. Doing so will provide the government with the weapons it will use to oppress Christians.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Gender theory is a religion. Adherents believe that ritualistic practices and statements can alter physical reality. In truth, reality exists and cannot be altered by reciting a pronoun as if it were a spell, or wearing different clothing, as if they are ceremonial garbs. Taxpayer funds should not be used to promote a false religion.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. I worship the one and only Triune God. This Triune God created the entire Universe with His Word. All of creation was made to glorify God, but the crowning jewel of this creation was man - the one aspect of Creation that was made in the image and likeness of God. Man, however, rejected his role as a reflection of God's glory, and instead chose sin. This led to a just separation of God and man. However, God so loved the world that He sent his only Son to be a propitiation. Jesus came to live a perfect, sinless life. As a sinless man, He should have never died. He chose to die anyway. He took the death that I deserved, so I could have the life he deserves. By rising from the dead, He proved His authority as God.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

States should set the rules for voting, and I have no problem with states requiring people to show identification. People need ID to legally work in the United States, and your right to work has far more of an impact on your station in life than your vote does.

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

The Constitution is a compact among the States, like how the United Nations is a compact among states. Unfortunately, states lost a lot of their autonomy during the Progressive Era, leading to the ballooning of the federal government, debt, and death. The electoral college is one of the last vestiges that remains of the notion that the united States are a plural collection of states, instead of one massive central bureaucracy.

EQUALITY

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

CRT is an immoral and inaccurate neo-Marxist doctrine. While Marx divided people by class, CRT divides people based on race. Since it classifies people based on race it is an inherently racist doctrine. They believe some races are oppressors and some are oppressed. This has nothing to do with the content of one's character, but entirely to do with the color of one's skin. Any university or school that admits to being institutionally racist should lose all govt funding under Civil Rights laws.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Agree

To the extent that spaces are publicly owned, I agree with the above statement. However, private organizations can set whatever bizarre standards they want. And normal Americans should be able to choose not to associate with organizations that have bizarre beliefs.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

While the climate is likely warming, and humans might be a slight contributor to that warming, it does not follow that all warming is dangerous, or that curtailing human development would be a net-positive. Climate related deaths have been declining over the years due to the abundance of reliable energy. Humans can adapt to changing conditions, if we are allowed the freedom to do so.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Currently, the most reliable energy sources are those sources that can produce a profit without government subsidies. These are traditional energy sources, such as oil, natural gas, and coal. Deregulated nuclear energy is also promising.
