QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Absolutely. I am unapologetically pro-life and believe that every human life has inherent dignity and value, from conception until natural death. I believe our laws should recognize and protect that fundamental dignity, especially for the most vulnerable among us.
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
A student facing a crisis pregnancy deserves compassion, dignity, and support. A public school is an educational institution, not a medical center. Schools should help the student continue her education, provide appropriate accommodations, and connect her with qualified resources. Parents should be involved to the greatest extent permitted by law, and schools should encourage strong family communication and support.
ECONOMY
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I support government funding of public education because every child deserves access to a quality education, regardless of a family’s income or ability to afford private school or homeschool. I also believe taxpayer funding must come with fiscal and academic accountability. I support greater parental choice and believe families should have meaningful options in determining the educational environment that best serves their children.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The phrase “separation of church and state” does not appear in the Constitution. To me, the First Amendment means government cannot establish or force religion upon anyone, but it also protects the free exercise of religion and freedom of speech. Public schools should remain neutral toward religion while respecting the rights of students to express their faith and religious beliefs.
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.
Strongly Agree
I support enforcing our nation’s immigration laws. ICE has an important role in identifying, apprehending, and removing individuals who are unlawfully present when authorized by federal law, particularly those who pose public-safety or national-security threats. At the same time, enforcement should respect constitutional rights and due process. Safe communities depend on both the rule of law and equal protection under the law.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
I do not believe public schools should use abortion or gender-affirming care providers, including Planned Parenthood (they need to be defunded), to provide instruction or services to students. Schools should focus on education and should respect the role of parents in consequential decisions involving their children.
Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
Safe and orderly classrooms are essential for learning. When serious or repeated misconduct has no meaningful consequences, it disrupts other students and places unnecessary stress on teachers and staff. Students must be held accountable for their behavior through appropriate discipline, including suspension or expulsion when warranted. Accountability also teaches students that choices have consequences.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
Students should receive a thorough education in America’s founding principles, history, Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and system of government. California law itself recognizes the importance of teaching American government, constitutional rights, citizenship, and patriotism. Students should understand both our nation’s achievements and its failures while developing an appreciation for the freedoms and responsibilities of American citizenship.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
I strongly support returning greater control of education to states, local school boards, communities, and parents. Education decisions should be made as close to students and families as possible. Any restructuring or elimination of the U.S. Department of Education, however, should ensure that essential funding and protections for students, including students with disabilities, are preserved.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
All instruction should be medically accurate, age-appropriate, focused on health and safety, and respectful of parents and the traditional family values of our community. Schools should provide necessary health education without unnecessarily exposing students to sexually explicit material.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
1 Language Arts 2 Mathematics 3 Science 4 American History 5 Civics 6 Vocational Learning 7 Personal Finances 8 Information Technology 9 Physical Fitness 10 Foreign Language 11 Art & Music 12 Sexuality 13 Social-Emotional Learning (Questionable) No Critical Race Theory, Political Activism, or Gender Identity indoctrination!
Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.
Strongly Agree
School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.
Strongly Agree
I believe school choice empowers parents and creates healthy competition that can encourage public schools to improve. Families should have meaningful educational options because no single system will meet the needs of every child. Public schools should earn parents’ confidence by providing excellent academics, safe campuses, strong teachers, and responsible use of taxpayer dollars.
VALUES
Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Disagree
I believe women and girls deserve fairness, safety, privacy, and equal opportunity. Female sports should be reserved for biological females, and intimate spaces such as bathrooms and locker rooms should protect biological sex and personal privacy. I recognize that California law currently requires public schools to follow different rules, but I strongly support protecting privacy for every student to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a God-fearing patriot. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. My faith teaches me to love God, love my family and country, defend what is right, and treat every person with dignity. I believe in traditional family values, parental rights, personal responsibility, and protecting the innocence of children. As a trustee, I will continue working to empower Temecula parents and provide every student with a good, safe, back-to-basics education. I believe schools should teach children how to think, not what to think, and I will stand against using classrooms for social or political indoctrination. I will remain faithful to my convictions while respectfully representing the families and community I was elected to serve.
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
Parents have the primary responsibility for the upbringing, education, health, and well-being of their children. Schools and government should respect parents as essential partners, not attempt to replace them. As a trustee, I will continue advocating for transparency, meaningful parental involvement, and policies that give parents a genuine seat at the table in decisions affecting their children.
I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Strongly Agree
I condemned racism and supported TVUSD’s prohibition of CRT the first night I was sworn into office. As a philosophy professor who has taught logic and ethics for over 12 years, I teach that character matters. From Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle to Dr. King, the enduring principle is that human flourishing comes through pursuing virtue and rejecting vice. We should judge each person by character, never skin color.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
As a Christian, I believe marriage is a sacred, God-ordained covenant between one man and one woman. This conviction is rooted in my faith and my belief in the importance of the traditional family. I respect the dignity of every person, including those who hold different beliefs, while remaining unapologetic about my own religious convictions and values.
Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.
Strongly Agree
It breaks my heart to see children struggling with anorexia, gender dysphoria, or other serious mental-health concerns. They deserve compassion, dignity, appropriate care, and the involvement of their parents. My Christian faith teaches that every child is created in the image of God and is “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). Every child should know that he or she has inherent value, purpose, and is deeply loved by God.
School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.
Strongly Disagree
Literary value should not automatically exempt school library books from standards protecting children from obscene or sexually explicit material. I helped create and voted for TVUSD BP 6000, which prohibits pervasive profanity, obscenity, vulgarity, erotica, and pornography in the core curriculum, supplemental materials, and school libraries. Protecting children’s innocence while providing quality literature remains a top priority for me!
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Voting is one of our most important rights and responsibilities, and protecting the integrity of our elections is essential to maintaining public trust. I believe voters should be required to provide valid photo identification to verify their identity before casting a ballot. Reasonable safeguards can protect both ballot access and election integrity. Every eligible citizen should have the opportunity to vote, and every lawful vote should be protected.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
I voted in these primaries and general elections:
2014 Republican Primary 2014 General Election 2016 Republican Primary 2016 General Election 2018 Republican Primary 2018 General Election 2020 Republican Primary 2020 General Election 2022 Republican Primary 2022 General Election
I have consistently participated in elections and have supported conservative Republican candidates. I have never voted for a Democratic candidate. I believe voting is both a fundamental right and an important civic responsibility.
What political party are you affiliated with?
Republican.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to immigration and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I consider myself very conservative. My Christian faith and biblical values are foundational to how I approach life, public service, and the decisions I make. When considering issues, I look carefully at the facts, consider my responsibilities to the people I serve, and measure my decisions against my deeply held biblical principles. I strive to vote according to those convictions while treating those who disagree with me with dignity and respect.
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Strongly Agree
As a veteran and Riverside County CCW holder, I believe properly licensed faculty who voluntarily undergo rigorous, ongoing firearms and active-shooter response training should be permitted to carry for the protection of students and staff. This should require strict qualifications, recurring training, and compliance with the law. In an active-shooter emergency, trained personnel may be in a position to respond while law enforcement is on the way.
