QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Any time it is recommended by a licensed physician (preferably an OB/GYN) and agreed to by the woman.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Disagree
Any drug should be approved by the Department of Agriculture / Food & Drug Administration.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Disagree
I see no reason why abortion providers should be ineligible for State or Federal funding.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Neutral
I do not think the United States is ready for this discussion at this time.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
That's the way things are now. There is no driving reason why things could not be otherwise in another place or at another time.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Immediately raise the U.S. minimum wage to $15 .00 per hour for every salaried person in the United States.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
Criteria for investing public money should be done prudently, with discretion.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Under no circumstances. Churches should cooperate and close themselves to support public health during a pandemic. Any church that refuses to support public health only demonstrates its ignorance.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Agree
Public enterprises are not people and unlike people, have no moral and/or religious beliefs.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
A. The United States is a throwback to the Law of the Jungle on this item. Healthcare for all should be possible in another 150 years.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Whenever vaccinations are needed to improve public health. Individuals who refuse required vaccinations should be denied medical care for the disease in question.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
The Peoples Republic of China is a serious peer competitor to the United States and should be treated much the same as Russia.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Israel is not an ally of the United States and would not come to the aid of the United States should that be helpful. However Israel is a good friend of the United States and merits some level of support.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
The United States should modernize and update its immigration program to reduce confusion at the borders and address increasing migration.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Disagree
The state should provide a free, public education, much as has been done for the last 125 years.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Disagree
Children are vulnerable members of society, but do not require the state to protect them from abuse and gender matters.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Agree
Parents have that right now.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Disagree
Gender transition services are a medical matter between the affected individual (and parents if a minor) and his physician. It is not the state's business.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Disagree
The State has no business participating in or making rules that involve religion or God. On a civil basis, for purposes of maintaining order, the State may make rules and recognize marriages.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Neutral
If people are required to register ahead of time, a photo ID is nice but unnecessary. If the voter is to register on the same day as voting, a photo ID is a good idea.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Neutral
The Electoral College has outlived its usefulness, but I suspect there are many ways to solve the problem.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
With professional governmental leadership and professional police and first responder personnel, no. An ignoramus like Mr Trump could set off a crisis.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory which asserts that the institutions in the United States have been affected by racist policies. CRT is a valuable effort for law schools.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Agree
Biological males who gender identify as males should not. Individuals born male who gender identify as female should be treated as females.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
Climate change is a real problem and has already become a major threat to the United States. Select B and D.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear energy and Green energy.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Liberal
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Neutral
This could be a good idea depending on the situation. I believe a more useful approach would be to re-direct police funds within the police department.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Licensing of firearms and full background checks. do that for automobiles now, why should it be different with weapons?
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
No
We do not need misguided teachers mistaking themselves for highly trained, highly specialized special forces.
