QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Disagree

While I agree human life begins at conception, any legal actions taken to prevent women from getting necessary health care is a far greater risk to our society and there are other avenues that eliminate the need for abortion while respecting human life at all stages without having to curtail the freedoms and liberties of half the population.

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

Schools should provide counseling, including counseling the student to be open with their parents if it is safe to do so. As an educator, I know it is relatively easy for schools to accommodate students with their education during such a crisis.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

While I agree, I also believe a heavily regulated capitalist system is required to safeguard our citizens, our environment, and our economy from irrational actors whose ambitions for making money supersede their basic responsibilities to our communities.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

Funding education is an investment in our future generations. It is foolish to not invest in our future! Every dollar spent on educating our youth is returned ten fold.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Agree

There are other occupations you can pursue if you find the requirements of this job objectionable.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Neutral

I believe they can be an educational and instructional resource. As with all teachers in public education, they cannot be advocates for a cause, only merely providing facts.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?

Yes

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Agree

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Agree

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Neutral

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Language Arts, Mathematics, American History, Science, Personal Finance, Civics, Vocational Learning, Information Technology, Social Emotional Learning, Physical Fitness, Art & Music, Foreign Language, Sexuality, Political Activism

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Disagree

Public schools are funded with public dollars. All other educational institutions are private and do not deserve any support from public funds. If homeschooling is required for the student, then it needs to be done through a public school to receive public funds.

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

Equality of opportunities - which is met through an equity of means, not outcomes.

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

None. STIs and abortion rates skyrocket when education is limited or prevented.

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Liberal Christian. I follow Jesus and His command to be loving to my neighbor to the best of my ability. I believe everyone should have a relationship with God, but that relationship must be a genuine one that each person wishes to seek on their own - that relationship cannot be forced through coercion or manipulation. All faiths must be respected, including atheism.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Because STIs and abortions negatively impact our society, it is society's responsibility to teach the younger generation in an effort to reduce STI and abortion rates. This can only be done through the use of public funds put into programs in our public schools. Parents have an obligation to affirm and support this process. Parents, however, cannot use misinformation or disinformation as means to subvert the education of our youth. The schools must only teach the scientific aspects of sexuality while parents must retain full authority to claim what is and is not moral and/or ethical sexual practices.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and the risks of each type; sexual orientation and gender identity as a theory as we currently understand it; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

Only teenagers who believe they are transgender, have parental support, have gone through at least one year of psychological counseling, have had the psychologist sign off on gender affirming care, and the support of the performing surgeon' can have access to such procedures.

Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.

Agree

I am very wary of anyone claiming there is a need for drag shows or explicit materials in our schools. I am aware, however, that the term "explicit materials" may mean different things to different people.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Agree

While this is a personal and religious belief of mine, I also keenly understand I live in a nation where respect for differing religious values is paramount. As such, I will never advocate or interfere with the rights of those wishing to seek the legal and societal benefits that come from any secular marriage.

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Neutral

Access to education is a fundamental right that must be preserved if our future generation is to thrive. Any parent found preventing their child from receiving a formal education may need to have their parental rights suspended. Also, if the parents choose healthcare options that are not in the best interest of their child, then the parent's rights may need to be suspended through the actions of Child Protective Services.

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

I'd prefer if everyone had photo identification, but I am fully aware of the complications this brings and the unwillingness of conservatives to adopt a program that gives everyone a Federal Identification Card. I am also fully aware that our voting system has the ability to catch election fraud very easily even without photo identification.

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

If we are talking about an XY male with no adverse syndromes or other physical characteristics or markers to indicate they are intersex, then only if this biological male has undergone at least one year's worth of hormone therapy and continues to receive it, and has had a sex change operation.

Moderate

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Strongly Disagree

Only the school's Resource Officers should be carrying guns on a public school campus.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.

Strongly Disagree

The school districts must follow State mandates. This must be handled at the federal and state levels, not at local levels.
