QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Neutral
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
The responsibility of the schools is to contact the students parent(s) or guardian so that they may help the student deal with the crisis. In the event that there is not a viable parent or guardian, the school would need to bring in a social worker or someone equipped to help the child handle the crisis.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Free enterprise is one of the beautiful things that makes our country great and free! The right to private property is imperative to a productive economic system.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
It's our responsibility as a nation to provide all children access to a quality education. However, once a child reaches college age, there are a variety of pathways and options they can choose based on their preferences and goals. Once a child hits adulthood, the burden becomes their responsibility, no different that certifications and professional licenses. However, I do support low-interest student loans with some stipulations.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Agree
Teachers cannot pick and choose the curriculum based on personal preference or beliefs. A mandated curriculum is just that, mandated. This means the curriculum has already been approved and the teacher is aware of the content in advance. There is no way to educate children in a measurable way if teachers change curriculum based on their personal beliefs or preferences.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
These are topics that are not school-related and should be handled in the home.
Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
I believe we need to focus on more discipline in the schools where teachers are not afraid of repercussions. Students that are habitual problem causers should not be able to impact other students negatively, which happens when there is low or no discipline. I am a fan of in-school suspension with no electronics. Sending kids home that are unruly is more of a reward and leads to further issues for those students so I would prefer in-school discipline.
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?
Yes
These materials are paid for by tax dollars and there should be no reason to not make them available for public review.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
Students should absolutely learn about our history, founding documents. Patriotism should be promoted and cultivated in our schools. It's extremely important that our kids understand the cost of freedom and why we must stand together to protect it.
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Neutral
While I certainly love to see and support diversity in our schools, want every child to have fair access to resources to succeed and never want a child to not feel included, I don't support DEI in how they perpetuate stereotypes, are being used as a politicized tool to promote certain ideologies and how they can have the reverse effect of actually making some children feel "tokenized" and create further divides.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Neutral
I haven't seen a plan at this point that would make me believe we are ready to implement this type of change. While I want to see way more accountability in the US DoE as well as a dismantling of the over-the-top bureaucracy that exists at the DoE, I don't think we are ready for a complete elimination at this point.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
1. Language Arts 2. Mathematics 3. Science 4. Civics 5. Personal Finance 6. American History 7. Information Technology 8. Vocational Learning 9. Political Activism 10. Physical Fitness 11. Art & Music 12. Foreign Language
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
I'm a big supporter of school choice. The money should follow the student.
Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?
Equality of opportunities
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
A.
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I have a strong relationship with my Creator that I cherish deeply. Additionally, I have a relatively traditional set of values and morals, but am also a believer that the Creator is the judge and jury of others. While I may not always agree with someone else, I choose to use kindness and logic. I won't propagate hatred, even when someones values differ from mine, because I believe our job on this planet is to lift each other up not tear one another down. I believe that we are born with a moral compass that is pretty simple to follow and each day we get to make the choice to follow it or to make bad choices. I choose to do good.
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Young ladies start to experience "changes" as early as age 10 so I think there should be some preparation for that, specifically with young girls. Outside of those types of changes, I think middle school (with parental consent) is where those conversations need to start happening.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
Sexual education should include these topics: human anatomy and the reproductive system, physical and emotional health outcomes, stages of pregnancy and fetal development, abstinence, consent, contraceptive methods. I think it's naive to not talk about abortion at some point because it's all over the news and a major social & political topic. I would say the discussion (with parental opt-in) would need to focus specifically on simply what an abortion is and the negative outcomes it can have on a young person's life.
Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.
Strongly Agree
No child should ever be subjected to this!
Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.
Strongly Agree
Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.
Strongly Agree
Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.
Strongly Agree
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
I voted in these primaries and general elections:
2014 General Election 2016 General Election 2018 General Election 2020 General Election 2022 General Election
I'm pretty sure I voted in the 2022 Primary, prior to 2018 I lived in Georgia and Primaries are a little different there. But I voted Republican if that helps.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Lean Conservative
