RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
The federal government now rightly has no say in this. The fundamental role of government is to protect the rights of the individual. I believe a child has rights to consider under this protection once his or her neural impulses begin to function. While I consider myself "pro life" in that way, I believe the true battle over this issue is in the culture.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Choose not to answer
I have a deep distrust of state institutions setting and measuring health standards. Legitimate health services should obviously be safe and scientifically backed, but the state is the wrong place for this responsibility. It has consistently abused this authority.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Government generally has no right meddling in the private concerns of individuals. The trouble with these laws when medicine is increasingly socialized is they grant the government impunity to coerce the sick poor into an early death. We see this played out in the MAID program in Canada.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Let alone a productive economic system, free enterprise and private property are fundamental freedoms of every individual which it's the state's primary function to protect.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Keeping and raising a minimum wage worsens inflation and costs of living, and has an overall negative impact on workers especially in the long term. Workers and companies should be permitted to mutually and collectively bargain on their own terms.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
Every individual should be allowed to decide where to invest her own money. Treating taxpayer dollars as "public monies to invest" in whatever amounts the legislature sees fit is illegal under section 20 article X of the Colorado Constitution, our "Taxpayer Bill of Rights." ESG is a fraud perpetrated by career politicians claiming they can spend your money better than you can.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Under no circumstance is the government permitted to close churches or other religious institutions from conducting their normal services.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
An individual or business may transact and associate freely under the First Amendment of the Constitution. The Civil Rights Act may still be observed without discounting the religious liberties of any individual.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
My view is most closely aligned with D. Current forms of Medicaid and Medicare should be transferred to the free market or an opt-in system which is financially sound. Also important to healthcare is the addressing corruption in the regulatory industrial complex. Policy makers, regulators, providers, manufacturers, researchers, policy makers all have blatant conflicts of interest. We have to audit and divest from corrupt health and regulatory agencies.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Government employers starting with the military have required vaccination for years under justifiable reasoning. We can no longer trust "vaccines", the regulatory and pharmaceutical industries. Government regulatory corruption needs to be removed.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Our relationship with Israel is important insofar as our relationship with all allies and free states is important. Their values of individual freedom, religion, and political representation are similar to ours.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
The border should be secure and so should our migration laws be. There should be simple, effective migration laws for qualified and like minded people to join our nation freely.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Agree
This would be preferable to state funded and prescribed education, but ideally state funds for education should be localized and voluntary.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Agree
Protecting and raising children is the responsibility of parents. Government and public institutions should not promulgate religion, ideology, or experimental medicine on anyone.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Neutral
Government should not be granted authority to confer any sanctity on civil or religious unions. We all have equal rights under the law, and religious bodies may conduct themselves as they see fit. It is not the role of the government to acknowledge what is sacred apart from our freedoms. I am a Christian and have my own views about marriage and religion. It is not the role of the state to impose those.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian and I believe that God's work is done in love and through speaking and living the truth. Religious and individual freedoms in our country are among the greatest blessings produced since salvation, and those freedoms themselves are sacred. Christ's plan and the great commission aren't meant to be legislated but lived freely.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
All voters should be recognized and accountable citizens of the republic. This is vital to validity and integrity of voting, without which democratic institutions are failed.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
Pure democratic vote is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Any policy, implicit or explicit, which hires candidates based on factors other than competence and experience for the role is illiberal and a potential threat to the function of the unit. If racism of any form causes the wrong person to be hired to a role for domestic security, it is a threat to domestic security.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
CRT in its roots is a deeply illiberal and incoherent ideology. It reverts so much of the progress the United States has made toward genuine liberty and equality.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
Researchers, energy and service providers should be allowed to pursue development of more efficient and productive energy solutions without interference.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
I believe the market would most reliably decide what is the best energy source. Nuclear energy what be uniquely safe and efficient if
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The fundamental purpose of government is to defend the liberties of the individual.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Lean Conservative
I consider myself a conservative libertarian overall.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Choose not to answer
Municipal and county regions should fund and conduct their law enforcement and community programs as they see fit. I believe efficient and lean law enforcement should be a focus of local levels and community programs should be the work primarily of non-profits and religious institutions.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
People should be informed and well trained, but the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
Local districts should decide how best to conduct security procedures in their schools.
