QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Choose not to answer
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
The counselor should support the student as she processes her situation and options, her communication with her parent(s), and her discussion with all other connected parties.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Our Federal Government funds special national programs but individual states are primarily fiscally responsible from Kindergarten through 12th grade. From 12th grade on there are various opportunities for all graduates but these opportunities become the responsibility of the individual after graduation. Securing college funding is an important piece of a college student's curriculum (unwritten curriculum). Scholarships, work study programs and even part time jobs all provide great opportunities
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
This country and its legal system were founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs. That being said, if a teacher is uncomfortable with pieces of the required, state and district approved curriculum, the situation needs to be resolved with input and direction from the teacher and district and school supervisors..
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Disagree
Schools exist to educate a society. Sex Education is a unit usually found in Health or Science classes and has nothing to do with moral, religious, nor psychological challenges. Schools need to focus on educating the next generation, not creating challenges that may never exist if they are not given a name for today's off topic question.
Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Agree
Consistent discipline is also dependent on a healthy student/teacher relationship. Safe and orderly environment does not mean neat and tidy. Educational activities are often messy or loud. Kids who are excited about learning sometimes appear to be disorderly. Great teachers inspire deep passion. Respect, however, and safety, must always be visible.
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?
Yes
I also believe that kids need to hold real, live, books. Digital material can easily be manipulated after district and board approval. There aren't enough eyeballs in the state to take note of unscrupulous editors.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
Educators should follow their curriculum which does include a thorough education in America's founding documents and American patriotism.
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Strongly Disagree
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Neutral
The DOE is responsible for federal assistance to schools so I'm not sure where that responsibility lands if they are eliminated. I still believe that curriculum alignment across the country is important and again, who would oversee that if they were eliminated. Students moving from state to state could be greatly harmed if there is no oversight.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Agree
Public schools were created to provide our children with a solid, foundational education. Some of them do their job very well and they also help to create a bond among the families that attend the neighborhood schools. Some schools however, have failed their students and families and that is why options for parents exist. I believe the public schools will bounce back. They have more resources and provide many extracurricular opportunities with ease of access. They must provide a great education.
Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?
Equality of opportunities.
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
Opt-in.
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in God, the content of the Bible and that I have a soul and that heaven exists. I also believe that God so loved us, that he not only gave us his son but he also gave us children. I value education, health, hard work, kindness, gratefulness, generosity, and the greatest of these, love.
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Parents are responsible. Some parents are uncomfortable talking about sex with their children (generally because they haven't laid the foundation as the years passed). Schools step in as part of the Health Curriculum with parental acknowledgment and permission. Due to the American diet children are maturing faster than previous generations. Fifth or sixth grade is probably appropriate for most.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
Human anatomy/the reproductive systems, physical and health outcomes, stages of pregnancy and fetal development. Many other topics will come up during instruction. I liked my teacher's advice when this happened. "Talk with your parents and feel free to let me know if you'd like to let them know that you still have some questions.
Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.
Strongly Agree
Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.
Strongly Agree

In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.
