QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Disagree

Public funds should support people’s access to reproductive health care, which includes contraception and abortion care. Denying taxpayer funds only makes care less accessible, especially for young people and those in low-income communities.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Politicians should not decide whether or when someone ends a pregnancy. Abortion should be legal, accessible, and protected as a matter of personal medical decision-making.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Disagree

Every person deserves the freedom to make decisions about their own body and future. But granting legal personhood at conception would place an embryo’s claimed rights over the health, liberty, and medical judgment of the pregnant person. Legal protection from conception threatens access to abortion, miscarriage care, contraception, and medically necessary pregnancy care.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Disagree

I support protecting access to IVF and fertility care, and I oppose treating embryos as legal persons. Those decisions should remain with patients and their medical providers, not politicians. Laws that prohibit embryo disposition can make fertility care more expensive, riskier, or unavailable and can undermine patients’ ability to make informed decisions about unused embryos.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Disagree

Enforcing the Cornstock Act against abortion medication would restrict care even in states where abortion is legal, interfere with clinicians and pharmacies, and endanger patients who need timely medical treatment. I support protecting access to abortion medication and oppose using an 1873 federal statute to override state protections or patients’ medical autonomy.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I support raising the minimum wage to at least $15 an hour. Georgia’s statutory minimum wage is only $5.15 an hour. No one who works full time should struggle to afford housing, groceries, childcare, or health care.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

Small businesses, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the right to own property are important parts of a healthy economy. As a former small-business owner, I know that opportunity and local enterprise matter. I also believe an economy is only productive when it works for everyone. That means strong labor protections, fair wages, the right to organize, affordable housing, and investments in public schools, childcare, health care, and infrastructure.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

My top priorities are to eliminate the following: corporate giveaways, no-bid contracting, duplication, excessive administrative costs, and ineffective tax breaks.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state means the government must never establish, favor, fund, or impose a religion or religious doctrine on anyone. Every person should be free to practice their faith, change their faith, practice no faith, and make personal decisions without religious beliefs being written into law for everyone else. As a policymaker, I would make decisions based on constitutional rights, evidence, public health, and the needs of all constituents.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Agree

When a business opens its doors to the public, it should serve the public. No one should be turned away from ordinary goods, services, housing, health care, or employment because of who they are, whom they love, their race, religion, gender identity, disability, immigration status, or family structure.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B) Health care is a human right. Everyone should be able to see a doctor, fill a prescription, receive mental-health care, have a baby safely, and get treatment without fear of bankruptcy. I support a strong, universal public health-insurance option, available to every person regardless of income, employment, immigration status, or preexisting condition. A public option would offer government-backed coverage alongside private plans, rather than eliminating private insurance.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Disagree

The government should measure health-care costs and identify gaps in care using anonymous and protected data, not a centralized registry that identifies people by their illnesses. A database tied to individuals’ diagnoses violates privacy, invites discrimination, and can be misused by insurers, employers, law enforcement, or future administrations. I support transparent public-health research and cost analysis, but it must be secure and anonymous whenever possible, to protect access to care.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Neutral

The Chinese government and Communist Party p national-security and economic challenges, including cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, state-backed intellectual-property theft, military expansion, and coercive trade practices. This must never become prejudice against Chinese Americans. I support protecting US workers, infrastructure, technology, and democratic institutions while pursuing diplomacy, climate cooperation, human rights, and peaceful conflict prevention.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

No, not in its current form. I do not support treating any foreign government as beyond accountability or entitled to blank-check U.S. military and diplomatic support. The United States should have a principled relationship with Israel, as it should with every country: one grounded in peace, human rights, international law, democracy, and the safety and self-determination of all people.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Agree

I support local policies that limit the use of city police, jails, schools, hospitals, and public resources for federal immigration enforcement. I seek to limit local cooperation with ICE. Local police should focus on community safety, rather than be coerced to follow ICE. People should be able to report a crime, seek medical care, send their children to school, and access local services without fearing that an interaction with local authorities will separate their family.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Disagree

Eliminating the US Department of Education would jeopardize essential protections and funding for students, especially students with disabilities and low-income students. I support fully funding public schools, expanding community-school partnerships, strengthening educator pay and retention, and ensuring every child has access to a high-quality education regardless of ZIP code.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Neutral

Foreign governments must never be allowed to secretly influence American education.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Agree

Parents know and care for their children best, and they should be meaningful partners in decisions about their child’s education and health care. However, parental rights do not include denying a child a safe education, medically necessary care, protection from abuse, or equal dignity. The government should respect families, provide clear information, and make schools and health systems responsive to parents.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Disagree

Supporting a transgender or gender-diverse young person is not child abuse. Any medical care for minors should be individualized, developmentally appropriate, guided by qualified health professionals, and involve parents or guardians whenever it is safe and appropriate. Every child deserves safety, privacy, and the freedom to grow up without bullying or stigma.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

People are free to hold and practice their religious beliefs about marriage. But civil marriage is a legal institution, and the government must apply it equally. Same-sex couples deserve the same freedom to marry, build families, make medical decisions for one another, and receive equal legal recognition as anyone else.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Strongly Disagree

I do not support broad gambling expansion as a substitute for fair, sustainable public revenue. Casinos and sports betting can concentrate financial harm in communities already facing economic insecurity, and the state government should not balance budgets by relying on people losing money.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian, and my faith calls me to lead with love, humility, compassion, and service to others. I believe every person has inherent dignity and deserves to be treated with respect, care, and fairness. My values are rooted in caring for our neighbors, welcoming those in need, pursuing justice, and protecting the vulnerable. In public office, I will serve people of every faith and no faith, and I will never impose my personal beliefs on others.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Agree

Voting is a fundamental right, but photo identification rules can block eligible voters, especially seniors, students, people with disabilities, and low-income voters. I support expanding access through same-day registration, automatic voter registration, expanded early voting, vote-by-mail access, and reasonable non-photo ways to verify a voter’s identity.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Agree

The US has a documented history of slavery, segregation, redlining, and exclusion from wealth-building opportunities. I support a democratic reparations process, beginning with research, public testimony, and a commission that identifies specific harms and designs remedies for descendants of people harmed by government-sanctioned racial injustice. Reparative policy can include direct compensation and targeted investments in housing, education, health, business ownership, and community wealth.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Disagree

Transgender people deserve safety, dignity, privacy, and equal access to public life. Exclusions based on a person’s sex assigned at birth are discriminatory and can put transgender people at greater risk of harassment and violence. Schools, athletic associations, shelters, correctional systems, and other institutions should use thoughtful, evidence-informed policies that protect privacy and safety for everyone.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Agree

Climate change is worsening extreme temperature, flooding, storms, air quality, and economic instability. Immediate action is urgent to secure a livable future. I support a transition to clean energy: rapidly reducing fossil-fuel pollution, expanding clean power and public transit, improving building efficiency, and protecting communities from pollution.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

The most reliable way to meet growing electricity demand is a diversified, clean-electricity system. I would prioritize building affordable renewable energy and storage quickly, investing in grid resilience, and reducing reliance on gas and coal.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Liberal

I believe government should protect civil rights, strengthen working families, provide effective public services, and uphold equal justice. My politics are rooted in economic justice, multiracial democracy, reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ equality, strong public schools, affordable health care and housing, climate action, immigrant rights, and accountable government.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The goal of the criminal justice system should be public safety, fairness, accountability, and rehabilitation. People who cause harm must be held accountable, and survivors deserve support, safety, and justice. Safety also requires preventing harm: investing in mental-health care, stable housing, youth opportunity, violence-interruption programs, and treatment for substance-use disorder.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

I support adequately funding specialized investigators, survivor services, prevention education, and rapid reporting systems; requiring technology companies to design safer products for minors; and holding platforms accountable when they knowingly facilitate abuse.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

The US Constitution and civil law are the supreme legal authority in the United States. No religious law can override the Constitution, civil-rights protections, or democratically enacted law.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I support universal background checks, red flag laws, and a permit-to-carry system that includes safety training and periodic renewal. I seek to prohibit the sale and possession of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines designed to maximize rapid-fire casualties, as well as to close loopholes that allow domestic abusers, people convicted of violent crimes, and people with dangerous histories to obtain firearms.
