QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Disagree
Planned Parenthood provides other services in addition to termination services. The state should decide what services the funds Planned Parenthood receives cover.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Choose not to answer
There are different medications for different stages of pregnancy. The morning after pill should be available to all without needing to consult a physician. Other treatments may require a doctors visit.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
This is a personal decision for each woman that needs to make it. The problem with politicizing this issue is there is no blanket answer or one size fits all answer for every situation each woman is an individual and deserves the right to choose what happens to her own body.
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
The federal government can use funding initiatives to support a woman's right to choose.
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
We need to revise the tax code. Making healthcare and the pharmaceutical industries non profit can help as well as policies to curb inflation and protect the value of the dollar.
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Disagree
Forgiving the unfair interest accrued or adjusting it to a reasonable simple interest fee would be a better option than just forgiveness.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
Choose not to answer
This depends on the issue and the amount of funding.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Freedom of religion. The government should not force the beliefs of any religion in an individual but should protect an individuals rights to practice their religion as long as it does not interfere with the rights of others.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
No one should be forced to do something against their religious beliefs. I can't think of any situations where there would not be other providers.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I do not believe in vaccine mandates.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
B. There are many forms of universal health insurance and we should be investigating those. Healthcare is more than just health insurance. It includes the pharmaceutical industry, mental health resources and our food supply.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
B. The US also has to be discerning on when to stop sending military aid and to only provide humanitarian relief.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
China has for a longtime ignored or patent laws, concern for environmental impact and humanitarian considerations in its policies and actions.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. Israel holds an important location for the US in the Middle East and has been a long term partner to the US.
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
Complacency. We have been blessed with few threats and not many people see the need for the military to protect us. Also, advancing technology may lead people to believe we don't need as many in the armed forces. The push for college as the first choice after high school can also discourage people from choosing a military career.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
Also we should be working with the Mexican government to encourage them to do their part. The individuals in many cases are not coming from Mexico but countries in Asia and South America.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
There are many different paths for people to legally immigrate to the US based on family ties, employment, education. There is no one clear answer but we need to create clear paths and a faster decision process that ensures those entering will be able to sustain themselves and will not be placed in situations that are not in their best interstate interests or those of American citizens. We should not need sanctuary states and cities. Many industries rely on immigrants.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Agree
Our current education system is failing our children and our communities. Too much money is spent on administration and not education. How sad that teachers must post Amazon wishlists to fund their classrooms.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
The Dept of Ed has only existed as a cabinet since 1980 and since that time education has declined to nothing more than institutional management. Programs such as free lunch can be better managed with cooperation from the Dept of Agriculrure and Health and Human Services. Cut the overhead and let states decide what is best for their children.
VALUES
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Disagree
This is the definition of marriage in the church. Government has included marriage in many laws and therefore we must allow those that choose same sex partners to legally marry and enjoy the same protections. Give into Cesar that which is Cesar's. If a church refuses to perform a same sex marriage that right should also be protected by civil ceremonies should not be limited by religious guidelines.
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
There are many changes that the human body goes through during puberty. The decision to change genes should be limited to adults and most certainly should not be encouraged by non family members.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Just like plastic surgery this should be viewed as elective procedures. If private insurances choose to cover it than that is their policy. Insurance doesn't even cover bio identical hormone therapy for women why should we cover gender transition?
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a conservative Christian who believes it is my role to love others and try to do the best I can to protect the needy and provide for those who cannot provide for themselves when I have the opportunity. It is not my place to judge others, but it is my place to be an example of compassion and kindness. I do follow the teachings of Jesus, but believe that faith is individual and religion is institutional. The policies of any individual religion should not be followed blindly. I think in the end we will all wish we had spent less time worrying about who was right and more time being kinder to each other.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
We have to show identification for everything. Why not for voting?
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Disagree
I don't want California and New York choosing the president every election. We need the electoral college.
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Disagree
I think we need to stop filtering history or we are doomed to repeat it.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
We have taken the rights of a very few to supercede the rights of many.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Neutral
While climate change is happening I have not seen conclusive evidence that some of it may be evolutionary. We should protect the environment and be environmentally responsible but extreme positions on any topic are rarely a good thing. I look at the failure of the wind projects in New Jersey and see millions of wasted dollars.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Solar and gas.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Lean Conservative
My stance on a woman's right to choose and changes to the overall healthcare system are less conservative. My economic policies and government view is more conservative.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect our Constitution and our Constitutional rights. We have too many politicians in Washington and not enough statesmen. I look to be a stateswoman, not owned by a political party or receiving millions of dollars in support meant to obligate me to decisions. Our current two-party system is ruining our government and we need other choices. Our government is overstepping in many areas instead of concerning itself with infrastructure and protection of its citizens.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Disagree
Having more seats on the Supreme Court will not solve any imbalances perceived by any particular political party.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
If anything I support providing more funding to our police departments for additional training and for Support Services located within the police department as they deal with situations in the immediate time of need for victims.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I am not opposed to background checks however I am in full support of our Second Amendment right to bear arms. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Addressing our Mental Health needs and addiction needs will help with problems that we have in this area. Criminals don't care about gun laws.
