QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

All

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Neutral

Pharmaceuticals currently in use have been deemed safe and effective.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

For family planning, medical screenings for cancer and other diseases, education on STDs and distribution of prophylactics and other birth control devices and drugs YES, but not abortion services.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

1.) When churches violate laws of tax exempt status. 2.) When churches commit treason, sedition, and advocate for the violent overthrowing of our government. Churches are NOT ABOVE THE LAWS OF MAN.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Agree

If you are operating in the public sphere then you have to be open to all customers. If they are operating on an appointment only basis, not as a store front operation, as "consultants or contractors" and get to interview their prospective clients before any goods or services are even offered, I can see how they can get around this situation.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. They help maintain political/military stability in their region. They're not perfect, but neither are we.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

NONE OF THE ABOVE. I choose option E) Healthcare funded by the government should be available and guaranteed for all, along with private healthcare insurance options. This is my choice as the ones you listed are not inclusive of the possible options I would choose.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

When medical science has determined such vaccinations necessary to prevent spread of infectious disease(s), and not keep the public quarantined. And to prevent the spread of childhood diseases in our youths.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Federal minimum wage should be at least double what it currently is for ALL employees classifications.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

Yes

ESG is not a scary boogeyman, and like the physical and social sciences valuable tools to assist in making these important determinations.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Agree

Soft control, not "Trump Wall" barriers. Use personnel and technology to provide humane security at our southern border.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Disagree

Public money must only fund public schools. Parents are always free to pay for alternative schooling.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Neutral

That would depend on the particular police department. This generic statement cannot apply to all PDs.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Let's start with raising age to purchase the popular MSRs(AR-15s, et al) to 21 nationwide. None of that "old enough to serve, old enough to own" crap! The military does a superior job of controlling access to weapons and ammo than the public at large. Give law enforcement ability to remove firearms from individuals possession who are shown or believed to be a true risk to society. These two steps would be a good start, along with measures to secure rights of appeal to those who face scenario 2.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Choose not to answer

Maybe. Depends on the school and the teachers in question. Too complex of an issue for so simple a question.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

no

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

no

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

[Insert Preamble to the Constitution here]

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Liberal

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Disagree

My answer: Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, both physical and emotional. "gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation?" Define "grooming" for me, please.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Agree

I'm glad the statement didn't say "make ALL decisions for their minor children."

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Neutral

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

If you believe the first sentence, fine. If you don't, fine. The second sentence has no place or bearing here. Read the First Amendment, then we can discuss.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm a Lutheran(ELCA). I believe in a heavenly Creator. I believe He sent His Son to save us. I AM NOT GOD! YOU ARE NOT GOD! Only God is God, got it? It is not my place or anyone else's place to force or coerce anyone else to believe what I believe. In the USA I am free to be Christian. You are not free to force me to be what you want me to be. Again, read the First Amendment, then we can discuss this.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Agree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. Racism(racialism) by itself is a misguided belief system. If one or more people ACT OUT IN RACIST WAYS AGAINST OTHERS then their actions could be seen as one or more "threat(s) to domestic security in the United States." Please, complete your questions so we don't have to guess at your intentions!

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Choose not to answer

I haven't studied CRT enough to be able to agree/disagree with the above statement. I don't think any of you know enough, either.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Choose not to answer

Description above is lacking information to allow me to offer an informed answer. Please, complete your questions so we don't have to guess at your intentions!

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

B AND D, no single choice is an acceptable answer. B and D. That's my final answer.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear.
