QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Disagree
Abortion needs regulation. It should only be an option in critical circumstances, but it needs to be available in critical circumstances.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Clinical drugs should consistently require clinical endorsement, case to case.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
"Elective" abortion is morally wrong. However, when a mother's health or a child's health is at serious risk, the procedure needs to be available.
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
Absolutely. The government's role is to mediate such conflict. It's not an argument of life or choice. Both are valid, but neither should be radicalized. We need to protect these children AND preserve the right to appropriate choice abortion (critical health, and other relevant circumstances).
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
We need to de-centralize tax. The federal government institutes tax upon tax upon tax. We need to shift this dynamic. Give the state level the authority, and let the states work with each other on what issues require collective funding.
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Neutral
I don't think loan forgiveness is a good idea because it just degrades the value of college education further. I also don't think it significantly effects taxpayers more than other issues in our budget.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
Yes
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
No group should have so much influence in government. This includes political parties. While protecting their ability to contribute influence, such influence of political parties (church) should be limited to their nominating an amount of candidates to parallel offices proportional to their voter affiliates. 50% affiliation means nomination of 2 candidates to 4 parallel offices.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Consent is important in private motive. Including private businesses offering services.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Only Healthcare professions should "require" vaccinations.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
We need to be better at knowing how to actually help patients. This includes regulating how insurance companies fund Healthcare procedures. We need to ban insurance companies from not paying "out of network" procedures. I don't think tax funded Healthcare should be abolish, but we need to fix other operations before worrying about how to modify this tax budget.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
No war is a "good cause." The only goal for entering a war should be to end the war.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
Yes, but we need to address the domestic issues that harm our national political environment. We need to move past the two-party culture we've sunk ourselves in. THEN we can worry about other nation's political environments.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. International relationships are always important, but it stands to say, every nation will have malicious intent in some way at some time, whether or not it's against us. Israel and surrounding states are specifically is important to our history in being founded on Abrahamic principles and the Mosaic law. The people need to know the history of our founding as a nation whether they admire it or not.
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
Toxic military culture. Power trips in leaders.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
I am in support of securing the border. I am also in support of legal immigration and helping immigrants legally enter our nation. I oppose deportation. We need to help immigrants become legal residents if they are already longtime residents.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
The law must allow anyone to immigrate to the United States, and may have different stipulations depending on the immigrants point of origin based on the geo-political climate and our economy.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
Parents have the right and responsibility to raise their children according to their best judgement, and the government should not interfere unless the child or parent is at risk of significant harm or otherwise malicious treatment.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Neutral
It doesn't matter if this institution stays or goes, but we need to improve our education systems. That can happen state by state or as a whole nation, but the issue is not the institution.
VALUES
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Agree
I do believe that this is the standard of marriage, but that the government should stay out of marriage entirely. This includes letting people practice marriage according to their own beliefs, religious or otherwise, so long as all consenting parties see no harm or malice.
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Children must be taught appropriate biological function and that the engenderment of their biology is good.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
No. Sex change treatments are irrelevant to the well-being of any patient, and these treatments should not be the norm, nor should they be supported by the government.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a practicing member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My political beliefs manifest my understanding of my religion, but are not official communications of the church.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Due to their effect, elections may be prone to fraud or interference. We need to protect our elections.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral college should be restored to its original intended function. The people are not ment to choose the president. We are not a democracy and that's not a bad thing. The Electoral college is supposed to help us not elect demogoges like Hitler or tyranical kings like King George III. Abolishing the college will send America to its imminent doom, especially in today's political climate.
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Disagree
I don't think institutions are racist. Institutions are elitist and that can manifest through racism. But the problem isn't racism, it's the elitism.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Agree
If a person has undergone sex change procedures (a practice I also oppose), they should not be restricted from such areas. Bathrooms are currently built for function, and sports are judged by function in competitive groups.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Neutral
Yes, but we need to be mindful of the cost to lower and middle class citizens. We can't just outlaw combustion engines without providing a parallel cost replacement. Many lower and mid-class Americans rely on the used car market where you can purchase an operating vehicle for under $5000 dollars, still being a significant expense. I support expanding our energy production to not rely on outdated "dirty" methods of energy production.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Right now, nuclear energy is the cleanest and most reliable energy source as far as I am aware. Coal may be reliable, but it's something we need to push away from.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
I'm not an ideologue. I'm problem solver. The notion that liberal and conservative ideological groups have any essence to their groupings is false. It's all propaganda.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The purpose of government is to facilitate the general well-being of all constituents. It is to create order to balance against the chaos of liberty, but not to overrule it, to preserve liberty as much as possible and as equitable as is reasonable.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Agree
The Supreme Court should have a set number of seats to include enough perspective, but also be a group of the best of the best. 13-15 is a good number of seats. Justices must be declared non-partisan, and this would be successful if the president candidates could not be official nominated by political parties.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Police need funding, but they also need restructuring. Officers need to be rewarded for effective enforcement of the law, and must be held accountable for ineffective behaviors.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Everyone fundamentally has a right and should retain the right to bear arms anticipating the necessity of defense. But it is the right to bear arms, not the right to bear guns. Those who show ineffective or malicious behaviors when handling firearms or show significan risk to others should face the consequences. If a child hits another child with a toy, you take it away. People should have the opportunity to earn the privilege back.
