The public school system should play a supportive and nonjudgmental role in helping students facing an unwanted or crisis pregnancy. VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

As a child I gave my life to the Lord in the small Baptist Church in South Central L.A. my grandmother Thelma would pray for hours on the front pew of the church while my grandfather Samuel would walk the floors with the other deacons singing old negro spirituals. The foundation of my faith as a Believer is built on the Kingdom principles of Kingdom love, compassion and respect and for all people, reflecting Gods truth that everyone is created in the image of god. On my faith journey I strive daily to walk a committed life that continues to treat others with dignity, kindness, and grace, recognizing that we are all called to love our neighbors, regardless of their background or belief. Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

The responsibility of teaching our children sex education lies on the community as a whole. While the simple answer would seem to be "it is the parents responsibility" unfortunately the answer is not that simple. The question than becomes what happens if the parents are not their than who bares responsibility. we must remember that our children are influence by many outside sources exposing them to the three letter word SEX. ,And even the child i=who comes from comes from a secure and healthy home environment with both parents he or she are still expose to unhealthy forms of sex during the coarse of a normal school day. While I do not agree that sexual education should be a requirement and I believe that the parents should not only have the choice to opted out but they should also have full access to view the curriculum before it is taught to their child. Included in the age appropriate curriculum should be education on sexual violence, sex traffic as well as internet safety. The appropriate age to teach a child sexual education can be as earlier as 2 to 3 years old, of coarse this would be age appropriate and at the parents discretion. Within the public school sector sexual education should not be and option for parents and students until transitional ages such as 8 to 11, 3rd grade and up.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Sex Education Should Include; human anatomy/reproduction system; physical and emotional health outcomes; abstinence; contraceptives; consent; sexual violence; sex trafficking; internet dangers
